I am a new member and I must say that this place is not bad. It's clean, the workers are super friendly so far.. I've been here twice..and they have their own self-checkout which I prefer! The only things I dislike are the prices, they are quite expensive for lesser product, and that there was not much out on the shelves. First time I went which was also on a Saturday there were things available, this time around there was not much and we couldn't find some of the products we got last time. Parking garage is pretty nice too, plenty of space and people leave the store pretty quickly so there will be a space. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, which is another reason I took off a star, there ARE some workers there that try to stop you while shopping, to convince you to get their promotions through Verizon or other companies. Please stop doing this! I learned to say "No thanks" but they do try to stop you to talk to you with their iPads and some people have a hard time saying no, and sometimes they don't understand what no means, The 1st time I was there the worker would not leave us alone, this time around the man said no problem and left. While waiting for the customer ahead of me to resolve a membership issue, I politely asked the cashier to ring up two specific items first.The cashier loudly and aggressively responded, shouting, "ARE YOU USING FOOD STAMPS? IS THIS YOUR FIRST TIME USING FOOD STAMPS?" in a manner explicitly meant to shame me in front of a crowded pre-holiday line.Following this, the cashier began yelling at me and my young daughter regarding how we placed items on the conveyor belt. Despite the previous customer not even returning to the line yet, she aggressively rushed my child, stating: "Now hurry and place the small items on the belt and stop giving me an attitude." BJ's Wholesale Club is my go to place for some bulk items. What is there not to like about saving money. Especially on staples that are drastically marked up at local grocery stores. The staff are helpful, store was not crowded, the prices are more than fair. What I appreciate is the ease of parking in the garage, which is free. Parking was a breeze. This location does not have a BJ's gas station. BJ's Club+ members can receive a discount of 5¢ off each gallon of fuel purchased at BJ's Gas stations. read more

BJs has good things about it, but I'm just going to focus on the bad. All this is my opinion and based on my experiences. During the summer, there is NO AC at all inside. You do get a short blast of cool air at the entrance, but that's all you get. Throughout the entire warehouse, it's just as hot as it is outside. If you need an item but it's currently shelved like water (BJs 5 gallon), you better hope someone who is 'forklift certified' is working that day or shift. If not, you'll have to wait until the next day (or same day, just long wait). If you drive, don't expect entering BJs premises to be easy. Due to poor design (by the city I assume), there is usually congestion at the turning point between BJs and Crunch. Many times it's Crunch's members blocking due to their limited parking spots. Back to Bjs though, if you end up parking on the 2nd floor, it's possible you might encounter a REALLY slow or malfunctioning elevator. Shopping carts is another issue this location is having. It's always broken/locked wheels, heavily rusted/dirty carts, open/broken backside of carts (many are tied shut with bags), and overall just lack of shopping carts in general. Seems like they are addressing most of these issues by just purchasing 2nd hand carts from other businesses afaik. Self checkout is good and all, but only if you don't require the hand scanner. Most time you'll require assistance from employees for items like water/soda/AC/TVs/high value electronics/etc. At that point, you might as well go to cashiers. Then again, self checkout is the only way to shop as a 'member' if you know what I mean. Item availability/locating items is a pain. The BJs app is suppose to help customers locate where items are by providing the aisle # it is at, or if an item is currently in stock at this location. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case. Most times the items availability is not correct. You'll be better off just asking those at the member service desk to tell you. As for locating where items are, the app can be wrong or just not have the aisle number. Fresh produce isn't always 'fresh'. Always double check your items if they are rotten/expired/missing product. Rotten/expired can be blamed on staff in charge of produce section, but the missing product is typically other customers stealing product or consuming products in store (nuts, cookies,etc), overfilling apple bags, 'filling' Laundry detergent/tide/downy, and more. One last thing is incorrect item pricing or lack there of. price tags placed on shelf's are usually missing from there designated area (cheap magnets), or display wrong prices. Best way to check an items price is using the app and clicking 'In-Club' then 'Check a Price'. Just make sure you have the correct BJs location set in the app since each BJs location has different prices for the same item. Other times, items will have price tags for similar (but wrong) items. This end up causing issues and complaints since you expect an item to be a certain price, only to find out the price was for an item next to it/similar item. Other than what I just mentioned, BJs is great. You can get discounted memberships if eligible for certain promotions, great CC offers with some having $100 bonus upon approval (better than Costcos CC). Item selection is great, typically having a large variety of brands/seasonal items. Heavily discounted clearance items at certain times/end of season items (as low as $2-$10). Coupons can be great if you clip all in the app before checking out. Coupons may be issued earlier/expire later than usual, and if new coupons for the month are issued before old have expired, you can get double coupons for the same item. When this happens, there is usually only a day or two before old expire so it's best to shop during these times. read more

So I should preface this by saying that I am NOT actually a member of the BJ's Wholesale Club but I am regularly asked by friends who are if I can take a ride with them to help with their own shopping needs as an extra pair of capable hands. The location is close to the area formerly used by the long-shuttered Ceasar's Bay Bazaar (there's now a Target, Kohls and Best Buy in the vicinity). So its rather convenient to ride to and they have a sizable lot to use. Don't waste time tooling around the ground level and instead go up to the next as my friends always find space up there. There are elevators to use when returning with your goods. Overall this is a very spacious establishment with a little bit of everything but as expected in a bulk size. Sometimes I ask the friends I've joined to portion out what they've purchased and I'd reimburse them. I live alone and don't need 20 bars of soap or a gallon of dishwashing liquid etc. There are all sorts of foods to browse through and yes they even have some electronics on sale so who knows if you will find a bargain of some kind when you are walking up and down the aisles. Now I should advise that you have your mobile fully charged in the event that you lose your party. Its fairly easy to get separated here and you might need to do some texting or calling to rendezvous. There is a self checkout area and a number of cashiers and everyone seemed friendly so shoppers should make sure that they are returning this in kind. I guess the only thing I'd suggest is more than one checker at the exit. Sometimes I've been on a longer line since people want to talk to them and that wears thin on the patience. Show your receipt and move along please :) Overall, I would likely join this club if there was a need for it but at this point in my life there just isn't. read more

I've been a BJ member for 2 years now. I am wanting something to be done about people thinking it's ok to park on the side of BJ's instead of going into the parking lot. The store tried to address this issue a few months ago by putting cones out, but this did not work. Now there are signs that say no parking but if nobody is there to kick them out, it will continue. It makes it a dangerous situation, especially when access-a- ride parks on the curb making people leaving the store to drive onto oncoming traffic. read more

Ive ordered cakes from.the twice before. The first time i ordered it, the order was fine but the second time i ordered from them, i had a problem. I pre-ordered a 2 tier cake for my kid's birthday party. They told me I should place order at least 24 hours in advance. I placed my order 48 hours ahead on a Thursday for Saturday 11am pick up. Saturday 11am comes and I get a phone call from the bakery department that they can't make my 2 tier cake because they ran out of 10inch cakes. They dont bake their cakes in house, they get shipments in and apparently their friday shipment didnt have any 10 inch cakes....i dont undersunderstand why they waited until my pick up time to tell me they couldn't make my cake! They shouldve at least called earlier!!!Luckily I didn't really need my cake until 2pm so I asked them to do a sheet cake for me instead and that ill pick up at 2pm. I got there at 2pm and they were still working on my cake -_- terrible service. If you order cakes, just make sure u call that morning to make sure they can actually make your cake. Prices for items purchased on 10/05/24 rang up for a higher price than marked. Supervisor' Kinsang gave me a very hard time to get the advertised price. Despite seeing my pictures with the advertised prices, he had employees go check the prices twice and then bring the signs to him. Highly recommend going when they open because there is only one two way street in and out. Parking is a pain if you come during peak hours and due to the street, all it takes is someone to double park and we're all waiting to squeak by, don't be that guy. It's similar to Costco in offering bulk items. When you check out, there is one line. Workers will tell you but people will still try to cut and play dumb, again don't be like that. read more

I haven't been to a BJs in forever, but now with a baby in tow, bulk items might be just what we need. It's too bad that this BJs seem so bare? Just so happened to stop by around Thanksgiving time and with all that they have, our purchase comprised of the weirdest items and none of which really needed to be in bulk. I was pretty disappointed in the experience and glad I went with someone else so I wasn't paying for this membership. Staff was fine, not particularly helpful or nice, but no one rude stood out. During this insane COVID-19 crisis, I have to say... BJ's is freaking awesome compared to their competitor (C*stco)... it's just more reliable, cleaner, and not as horrendous of a shopping experience than C*stco. I know at the beginning of the hoarding... (stupid media drove them peeps insane!) it was bad all around, Wholefood, Traders, C*stco, Bj's, Target... everywhere!!! Now, I feel like there's a sense of calm so all the supply chains are doing their best to meet demands. Kudos to the management and double clap for the employees for keeping us customers stocked! I always avoid the weekends but even so, Bj's lines can get crazy at any given time. I try my best to find the right off hours for a visit. Often I think about the differences between Bj's club and Costco club. Bj's location is more convenient for me. They don't have as much variety and exclusive items like Costco. I do feel that Bj's has better quality for the most part. BJ's has more of the basic essentials whereas Costco has more fun products to discover. Bj's has better membership deals.The club itself has spacious aisles, clean, and neat. They have clean/healthy eating options for many of their products. You'll find your vegan, gluten free, organic, etc. needs. I just wish they sold more ethnic items here. Their parking lot is designed so poorly, unsafe and not practical to circle for parking. Specifically the ground level. People also park illegally making it difficult for cars to navigate in and out. Please be safe! They either have none or lots of broken shopping carts. Their website is easy to navigate but their coupons are not automatic, you have to clip it to add it to your membership which makes it easy to miss out on a good deal. Their online prices matches their store prices but they have very little free shipping offers. They have free in store and curbside pick up. You don't need to be a member to shop at the liquor store next door but the shop has the smallest selection and not enough variety to enhance my Bj's trip. The park area, Brooklyn Bay Center surrounding the club is a nice relaxing, chill spot, super clean for a little R&R, fresh air, nice walk, catch a sunrise/sunset. read more

If I could give no stars I would. BJ's is not available to assist customers who receive delivered orders after 7pm. I had a delivery that was missing key items. I do not own a car, and I needed assistance as the wrong items were delivered. I called this location and no one is picking up even though the store is open. Completely unprofessional and tacky. Avoid BJ's and just go with Costco. I am paying for a service and I expect employees to be available given there are hours which customers have deliveries after 7. BJ's in general have what you need in bulk. BJ's during Covid-19 doesn't have everything you need but most things! Take what you can get. Expect long lines to enter the store and at the register to pay. It had gotten better in the late-summer to now (but those early Covid-19 days March-June was terrible). They do a good job enforcing capacity & social distance with the stickers on the floors-- however, there is always the few who doesn't follow. They always have cleaning station in front once you pass the staff at the entrance so you can sanitized the shopping cart with the wipes or the spray. Clorex & Lysol wipes are sold out. Bounty for awhile was sold out but a few were lucky to get them (especially if you order online early morning for curbside pickup before it was completely sold out). Sometimes toilet papers are also out and you will have to return to check when they are replenished. There are generic brand cleanser and some Lysol sprays available. There is a big supply of disposable masks. For a while, the gloves were all one size (S/M) and then was gone as well. You just have to constantly check and see what they have. Certain food items (perishables) are also out sometimes. Certain products have limits (limit 1 or 2 per card member). Certain items are re-arranged around the store so you would have to walk around everywhere to find the items as they are not in the proper aisles. In general, they are pretty good with supplies for the public and trying their best to keep up with all the demands. Everyone wear masks, social distance and is polite. Sometimes, shopping carts are very hard to find-- where did they all go? There was a few times we just went in without a cart and grab a box (luckily we only got a few items). It is normal to see people follow families to their cars to get the shopping cart (they ask of course). Saturday, 11/7, we came here for only one purpose. We came to get my mother-in-law a new TV. Samsung 55" TV that has a 3year warranty. The warranty is through the company; after we waited on line at customer service, they said we have to do it online through Samsung. The TV is a birthday gift for her as her old tv was old and worn out. read more

We came here today around 11am and the parking lot was utter mayhem. We did find some parking after clearing away some carts. I am not sure if BJ's has any staff that gather the carts in the parking lot because there was stray carts everywhere. The parking lot is three floors and it's free. I grabbed a cart but, the first three had an issue with the wheels. While, the store is huge I felt that they had a little of everything without much options for some items (and no samples!) I did find that some items were more expensive here than the Brooklyn Costco. The checkout process was quick and lines moved quickly but, the machine said it accepted a coupon but, it didn't show up on the receipt that I paid regular price. BJ's had a few other things that Costco doesn't but, I think I prefer Costco even though that's a mad house too. read more

We did our first BJ's curbside pickup at this location over the weekend, and I don't know why we waited so long to try it. The process went so smoothly, and it was so much easier than a regular shopping trip there. We checked in when we got there, and it didn't take long at all for them to arrive with our cart. I did miss browsing the aisles, but that was probably better for my wallet anyway so I didn't walk out with a cart full of unexpected purchases. It also eliminated many of the issues I have with shopping here. The curbside pickup spots are right near the store entrance, so no worries about being stranded on the second floor of the parking garage with non-working elevators. Their app is still terrible, and I still don't understand why the coupons don't automatically deduct, but building the shopping cart on their website is much better and you can clip the coupons on the product pages. Mask compliance in the store during the pandemic hasn't always been the greatest, but no issue here since the entire transaction happens outdoors. Offering pickup, especially curbside pickup, gives them a huge advantage over Costco these days, and I can definitely see us doing this as a regular thing now that we've tried it! read more

As I come to write this review, I'm noticing one thing. Looks like we have a lot of racism at this club. (Look at all the negative reviews.) So I brought a whole bunch of Bluey books for my daughter in July for her birthday in December which I hid in my attic. (I didn't want them to run out of Bluey books.) Come to December, my daughter gets the books from her grandparents who purchased the books as a bundle from Sam's club. I look up the return policy and it says general merchandise is 1 year returns. So I attempt to return the books where I purchased them. The customer service rep said she wasn't sure if she could accept the return so she would get the manager. Another rep kept jumping in and saying no, no, no its past 90 days. The manager comes and the rep that was handling another customer, stops to interject and insisting to Manager that they cannot be returned. I presume the rep and Manager must be friends because I was told I could not return the books. I informed them the app and website say nothing on book returns and general merchandise is 1 year. Another customer whose waiting for her rep to come back from Manager actually looks uncomfortable because that rep and the Manager are so rude. The customer service rep that was assisting me actually said "I'm sorry to me." I told her that her "friend and Manager " are super rude. I call corporate BJ's and they AGREE with ME. I was informed that books fall under general merchandise and are returnable under 1 year. I can guarantee you if I was a different ethnicity, I would have been able to return the book. CORPORATE BJ's actually told me to go to another BJ's warehouse to RETURN the books!! Can you imagine? So the customer is always right doesn't apply at Bj's apparently, especially in this instance, when the customer is right!! So be forewarned, BJ's DOES NOT HONOR THEIR OWN WRITTEN RETURN policy. Remember the beginning months of COVID when everyone went a little cray and stockpiled toilet paper for no apparent reason? During that time, BJ's was the only place in my area that actually had this in stock (primarily in the mornings, but would sell out within an hour). I never gave into the trend so I didn't worry about getting here in the early hours when there was a line out the door (a friend sent me a "warning" picture so I could avoid the mess). I have to say that social distancing was easy here during the afternoon. Shoppers were required to wear a mask, and though most paper and disinfectant products flew off the shelves earlier in the day, they had basically everything else in stock - fresh veggies, bakery items, poultry, pantry items, toiletries, appliances, etc. I felt more comfortable shopping here than I did at Costco, which has been overcrowded and impossible to navigate. read more

This review is for the Bjs on Remsen Avenue. When I patronize a store, I want to feel welcomed from entering to checking out. Each time I go there, and I dont go often, the entrance in front of the elevators is always dirty. Bjs, show some appreciation by making your customers feel valued. This could be a result from customers, but I don't think so. In addition, the elevators need servicing, seriously! (You press the buttons, and nothing happens). I would buy more from Bjs if there were more "real" organic choices. On the plus side, the staff is very helpful when you ask a question, and I do like the wide aisles, although I don't go down most of them. When it comes to grocery shopping, I would pick BJ over any other wholesale club because they tend to have my essential needs on a regular basis, like Silk regular soy milk unless there is a shortage for alternative milk products in general. I also loved their $5 whole rotisserie chicken. At this particular BJ, it is usually not too crowded like some other wholesale clubs and they always have enough parking spots that I do not have to wait long like 40 min for one. I have belonged to this club for years...The lines arent crazy long. There is a dunkin donuts in case you need coffee before you shop. It a hit or miss with some of the items. I have been there month to month and sometimes they will run out of the item I had bought before or no longer carry it anymore. I had a bad experience with the meats dept. I had bought steaks to grill the next day. When I went to take it out of my fridge the steaks were red and green. I called and had to explain what had happened. They knew their fridge turned off and still sold the meats to the customers! I was offered to return the item...so be warned to check your meats. Other than that I love the wild caught options they have available. Also, as a member I have the app and can cut my coupons from the app without having to worry about forgetting the coupon book which has made my shopping experience so much easier. suggestion for BJ's: Let your customers know there is an app so it easier for them and the cashiers when it comes to the coupons. Now I know why this place have a such low review. Finding good employee is not an easy task but this employee I have encountered this morning is in whole different level of it own. We are living in situations where Mask has to worn and talk to each other through plastic divider. And I couldn't understand what she was saying to me and I had to ask her repeat her self few times. The only positive about this Bj's at Shore Parkway is the location. Other than this place is trash, especially the employees there. You see the employees driving around the forklift. They drive with great speed as if they are in the movie Fast & Furious. They have disregard for the customer's safety. If you are in the way, they will honk at you with great attitude. And oh! Watch out if you misplace the boxes of fruits, such as moving one box on top of another. The dumbass staff will also give you attitude and make you put the box down. Hey BJs management at Shore Parkway. Your staff needs special needs training for common sense and courtesy. No wonder customers love Costco more. Now the shipper estimates that it will be available for delivery on 10/16. -They claimed on-line that I would get a special deal on an extended warranty. I saw no such deal on my order summary. - They charged me 9.99% sales tax on my TV.
