We ended up here because Mr. Pancake was closed for the season. We were staying at the Kalahari so we thought we would save money and eat somewhere else... Boy I was wrong. We had 2 kids (13 & 10). My husband ordered the hash... Tiny portion of hash. I ordered the crepes... Sweet strawberry purée slathered all over it... Gross... The kids meals were sad. 2 small pancakes with 2 burnt pieces of bacon. Both my kids were still hungry after we left. Actually we all left hungry. Price... $47. The same as 4 people at the all you can eat breakfast buffet at the Kalahari. Should of just stayed here. Don't waste your time. read more

We stopped at BJ's during a recent vacation to the Dells and really enjoyed our breakfast. It was about 8:30 and although the place was mostly full we got seated right away. Our waitress had quite a few tables and was hustling her butt off, and we still had quick service. Large portions all around and all four of us had excellent meals. Great food and service! My husband and I just went there today and it was delicious! We both has the Howies super breakfast and my only complaint was that my stomach wasn't big enough. Nice service but food was terrible. I had an omelette and it was full of grease (that smelled funny) my hash browns were complete grease and my daughters pancake had no flavor. We were looking for a breakfast place and hit this place after deciding to drive to Mr.Pancake. I wish we'd have driven the extra minute. Tiny menu, dirty tables, I watched the waitresses clear tables, scrape plates into a cart and then not wash their hands. They took pitchers of ice and filled them with tap water. I almost walked out after watching this. Our food came minutes after. It was terrible, and it's pretty hard to mess up breakfast. I've eaten at truck stops and fancy places. First off the menu is tiny-12 choices. Two in my party ordered biscuits and gravy. I had their version of eggs Benedict, my son had the crepes. Eggs were undercooked, hash browns soggy in the center, crepes were burnt and the gravy was subpar. Save yourself the gut pain and keep driving. read more

When we're in the dells we always have breakfast here. Good service we get seated right away. Their pancakes are the best I've had. The menu has good a la carte items but we usually get the huge breakfast. Not really huge but big enough to fill you up. The staff is friendly and prices are better than competitors. read more

This is a good place to go to eat if your looking for hometown style kind of diner. The menu isn't very large but it gets straight to the point which is good for people who can't decide what they want. The guy at the front I think his name was Kurt was nice and insightful about the area for us on vacation. I would have went two days in a row if I had enough time! Good breakfast at a good price. We ate there every day on our vacation. Waitresses were all very friendly and didn't give us a hard time about sharing with our young kids since they don't eat much. The other nearby breakfast diner with the really long line made us pay extra for our 2 and 3 year old to be able to share our breakfast with us. read more

I just want to preface this review by saying the service was great. The hostess and waitress were very nice and clearly cared about their customers. They got us everything we needed in a quick and polite manner. Even though it was a Saturday morning at prime breakfast time we were seated and served pretty fast. With that being said, I used to think it was literally impossible to mess up breakfast food. I have been proven wrong. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. It came with eggs, steak, hash browns, and toast. The steak and toast was actually quite tasty. The eggs tasted kind of funky, almost as if they were using powdered eggs or something. The taste was alright though. The hash browns on the other hand... yikes. The outsides were crispy as expected but the inside was literally so soggy and it had the consistency of wet toilet paper. I literally tried to think of a way that I could get my own hash browns to taste and feel this way and I couldn't. I couldn't think of a single way to get the insides to have that consistency. Even the crispy outside had a paper taste to it. So in short everything there is acceptable just don't get the hash browns, whatever you do! I would have rated this place better if the eggs and hash browns didn't make up a majority of the meal. read more

Average breakfast food. I had the BJ's Special which appeared to be eggs Benedict lathered with cheese sauce, which I could have done without. Waffle and crepes were just ok. Restaurant interior is a bit dated, but plenty of booth seating. Servers are very pleasant but very busy at breakfast time (though I was pleasantly surprised at how often my cup of coffee was topped off.). Overall, nothing special on the menu that justified the final bill. I'd likely go to IHOP rather than return here. read more

I dunno...I must have gone on an off day. Everybody is entitled to have a few off days LOL.... uggghhhh OK so THis is the first place in the dells that my family and I went to eat breakfast all together during our stay at the dells. The restaraunt is nice it has a very homey layout.... the waitress was nice and on point... the orange juice was spolied and did not taste right AT ALL.... my fiance ordered pancakes and said they tasted like fish....the food was alright...it didn't wow me...not even their hashbrowns. It was just OK...not memorable at all...If I would return to vacation here, I would remember NOT to go back there cause their breakfast wasn't all that great...hmmm maybe I should read some reviews. maybe I came at the wrong time of day and their lunch or dinner is better and what makes them so grat...or Like i said this was just an off day... either way I probably will seek a better breakfast spot for my next trip to the dells. read more

The host was very friendly. Sat us after 10 min. wait. Our server came and took our order which all they offered was limited breakfast. We ordered 5 of the pancake, eggs, sausage and hash browns. Meanwhile we drank bad coffee....window sill had dead insects and there were several flies flying around. After about 30 minutes our food came. Tasteless pancakes, no flavor on the hash browns, eggs......who can mess up eggs? they can! The only edible thing was the sausage...but after trying a bit of the other food, we weren't hungry. I want to start my review by saying this: this place is awesome! While browsing through a coupon book, I noticed an ad for Bj's Restaurant. Curious, I took a closer look at the ad, and it showed pictures of the food served there. Judging by the pictures, the food looked good. I then suggested Bj's to my family, and they told me to look into it more. That's when I decided to get Yelp. I took a look at the reviews and found that they were mostly positive. I told my family about the good reviews, and we decided that we would go to Bj's for breakfast the next morning. When we arrived, we found an easy parking spot. Walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by two different workers, with smiling faces. Shortly after that, we were seated at our table. When we inspected the menus, there was a picture for each item on the menu, which was very helpful. Our waitress (who was very friendly) brought us our waters and took our orders. I ordered Howie's Super Breakfast, which is 2 eggs, 3 sausages, 3 pancakes, and 2 pieces of toast. Accompanying my meal was a large orange juice. Not even 10 minutes after we ordered, our food arrived at our table. This was remarkable, considering how busy the restaurant was. It wasn't long after I dug into my meal that I discovered how delicious the food was. Not only did I love the food, but my entire family loved the food too. We tried BJ's based on several positive reviews. Based on our experience, I can't believe anyone would recommend this restaurant. We went for breakfast. The only thing positive that I can say was that the service was friendly. My son's chocolate milk was sour, I had coffee grounds in my coffee, the pancakes tasted like salty flour, and the bacon was so dried up it looked plastic. We didn't even attempt to eat it. If I could give less than 1 star rating I would. read more

Stay clear of this restaurant people rave about there pancakes I believe they may be microwaved. They charge gratuity for 6 even if its your kids. Theres nothing really justifiable about there prices if your gonna pay 9 bucks a person you should go to paul bunyans its all you can eat. Pop is served from a can at a 1.50 a can.
