Just ordered lunch for Mother's Day and got my cheeseburger. How do you screw up a plain cheeseburger? It came on oversized toast when all the pictures show a bun. When I say oversized toast I mean OVERSIZED toast. I was 6 bites in before I took a bite of the hamburger patty. When I finished the patty...which was dry with no sear on the meat...there was still 5 more bites of toast. Again, how do you screw up something as simple as a cheeseburger? my wife got the sliders...which were on a bun...and her slider Pattie's were bigger than my toast burger patty. We came here Saturday with some friends. Ambiance great. Beer was good. Everything thing was good. EXCEPT the tuna poke. Now I know I shouldn't order it when it's not in Florida. But the picture looked great. It was supposed to be sushi grade which you want. Well when we got it, it was so drenched in so many sauces you couldn't even taste the tuna. It was very disappointing. Had a large party for an 80th birthday party and had a nice section out of the way along the windows which was nice for the littles to play around. Easily put candles in a Pizookie trio. I keep going back to the Enlightened Seated Ahi Tuna Salad. It's been my order for my last three visits, and at three different BJ's: Taylor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. The food was amazing. Went yesterday after lunch and before dinner, so not many people there. That made it very quiet and was great. It also allowed for quicker service. It was partly because of our great waiter, Anton. I read some other reviews saying he was great and I agree. Genius and genuinely great guy. BJ History: I went to a BJ's in California and it was "ok". The burger was tasteless and bland. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I was turned away! Really! Then corporate contacted me and offered me a second try. I was very hesitant and turned off. After a few months, I decided to give BJ's one last try. This would be it. All or nothing. If they failed again, I would never return. I'm a good restaurant eater and a good tipper. Today: 2023 Wow! I finally got to try their Prime Rib! I had my usual medium rare! Wow. Excellent! Juicy and cooked to perfection. Seriously. I was impressed. All the fat melted in my mouth. This really was good. The au jus was delicious and complimented the prime rib perfectly. When cooked for a long time, it should be soft like butter and it should melt in your mouth. This prime rib was a major HIT. Wow. Don't miss this. I will definitely be back for more Prime Rib. BAD CUSTOMER SURVICE Came in one day and bought their 64oz jugs each jug costed me $4 and they charged me $2 per jug to fill it up. They told me i could come in anytime and fill it up for the same price. Thought is was great. The next time i came in i went to fill it up they wanted to charge me $14 for 2 jugs being $6.99 plus tax per jug, i explained my point of view to the brewer and he got his manager his name was jimmy, i spoke to him, told him what i was told. And he told me well thats too bad thats the price. What a scum bag no solution just fuck me. Terrible service. Ended up having them pouring out the vanilla cream soda and taking my jugs with me. I did not get very many pictures, I came here to use my birthday pizookie, and we ordered mozzarella sticks and bone in chicken with some drinks. The food was okay nothing spectacular, expensive for no reason. The drinks were just okay I had the wine slushy and skinny casamingo not worth the price in my opinion. The only thing that still taste great is the pizookie, i orders the Oreo one and it was chocolaty and delicious. I haven't been here in some years and I kind of see why. I am a long time rewards member. My dad and I went out to dinner Tuesday night Jan 28, 2025. We were there around 5pm. 1st off the bartender was a heavy set guy that usually always has a bad attitude. I warned my dad about the guy as he ordered a bottle of Bud light that was $4 at happy hour. When we asked for the chips and salsa the bartender flipped out. I asked for the manager. Tall skinny young guy with a nose ring that acted the same way. This place used to be my favorite restaurant. My kids and I will never go back and as I am a life long person of this city all 53 years and my father in his 70's will make sure to spread the word to everyone not ever go to BJ's Brewhouse. A fifteen-minute wait for a table in a half-empty restaurant; inattentive service by three different people--only one of whom was my waitress--meant that I was only served the drink I'd ordered after I had already eaten a salad: and the food arrived overcooked and piled onto a small plate, making it hard to manage. We were seated way before the 15 minute quote, which was refreshing! We ordered up a handful of appetizers, some were for our dinner. Everything was delicious. The server was on it. The ambience is great. There is plenty of parking. The space is pretty big so I did not experience a wait time at all. With that being said, I would pass on the Avocado Egg Rolls. They were kind of bland and cold. I've had them in the past and they tasted better but this time they were just bland. For entree I got the steak that came out pretty good. I got the mashed potatoes and weird little ball Mac n cheese. Both of the sides were great as well as the steak. My nephews got the wings and burger for their entrees. They both liked their food and the wings were pretty big in size. For drinks we got ice cream sodas. They were good. And I recommend indulging in them in the future. For dessert we got the pazookie sampler that came with three different flavors. We got chocolate, strawberry and sea salt caramel. The strawberry was hands down my favorite. It's a standard bar vibe and dining. The food was fine. Service was okay. Sat at the bar. Watched the bartender use his bare hands in multiple garnishes without washing his hands. This is also after handling menus, wiping his face and other things. They had sticks next to the station that should have been used because a female bartender did so. I notified a manager who apologized, but she never addressed it in the additional 30+ minutes that my party sat at the bar. Makes me wonder when is the last time that they had an inspection. SUPER IMPRESSED!!! We visited for work lunch this last Friday around 1:15. It was busy, so we opted to sit at the bar to not have to wait. The bartender was awesome. Dude is a rockstar and shoutout to him for his service. He even asked us how our steaks were after the meal as he mentioned he wants to make sure his customers are happy. And the FOOD! I got a wedge salad, steak and mashed potatoes. Lesson: don't ask for extra ranch, they give you plenty. Their mashed potatoes are off the chart!! The steak had an awesome char on it! It was a tad bit salty, but I'm also super picky with salt. Also, being that it was 1:15 on a Friday, we were in an out in about an hour, I consider that golden. Stopped in this location since I was in the area shopping. I was really surprised at the fact that they had plenty of staff. The inside was nice and clean and everyone seemed happy to be working. Our waitress was nice but I think was new because she struggled with questions about menu items but I was just happy she was working and smiling. We got our food and drinks fairly quick. I had the peach margarita and it was really good. My husband had an avocado turkey burger and he said it was good. I had the steak and shrimp scampi,it was ok the steak had no seasoning and the butter sauce in the shrimp scampi was too oily. Friday. Aug 23 my husband and I went to BJ's in Taylor. We go to Livonia location frequently but we were in the area so we stopped We each ordered a drink, soups and hubby got a burger. Out comes the soups and they were barely lukewarm. We sent back. Burger was fine and back comes new soups brought by manager. They were same, lukewarm temp and waitress came over. She tested temp with finger and said yep not even warm and apologized and took back. Andrew the manager comes back with now 5th bowl. My husband said take a sip and manager did and said not warm and apologized. By now we are angry and said forget it we are done. Just pointed out one thing that was wrong out of a few that was. Next time I'll call the on-site manager from home. Our service was terrible. I went with a group of 4 other people and our server, Jessica P, was rude right off the bat. We were nice to her from the beginning even asking how her day was and she was very snobby back to us. When my friend was ordering wings he asked nicely what the options were for sauces and she rudely said to him "it's literally on the menu". She then continued to not refill any of our drinks, ask how the food is, if we needed anything, and continued to avoid our table the entire time we were there. We had to wait 30 minutes for a single to go pizookie and she not once came up and said I'm sorry about the wait or it will be out shortly. When it finally came out she said in a snobby tone "sorry for the wait" and left. No have a great night nothing. There was also no silverware in the to go bag. We all had planned on tipping if she was kind, but she was not so we didn't. By coincidence, two other people we knew came in at some point and were still there after we left and they overheard her talking bad about us. She said cattily, " this is why I don't expect teenagers to tip, they're probably broke. I don't know what I did". She was snobby, rude, never smiled once and rolled her eyes. I don't know about you guys but the pizza at BJ's is always so bomb! Went here for a dinner date with my bf, we ordered a small pizza some garlic parm wings and I got a Raspberry Rose Rita . They were out of Rose but I substituted with strawberry lemonade. In my opinion it tasted waaay better with the lemonade and the casamigos. Our waitress was very attentive and accommodating.
