Sometimes, there's a disconnect between those who are supposed to schedule, return calls, and cordially welcome you at the reception desk. Far too often, when you call any of the office locations, the call will go to voicemail. Recommendation, if the scheduling staff does not return your call, do not wait more than two (2) business days. Call multiple times, state when you left a message, and ask again for the courtesy of a call back. If you're complacent, you may needlessly wait for a return call. Sadly, the scheduling staff, too often, operate with no sense of urgency, nor consideration. I couldn't believe the next day while going home that I could clearly read the street signs without my glasses. Prior to my cataract surgery I couldn't read the street signs with my glasses. My second cataract surgery truly went so well, I didn't feel like I had anything done. I am so thankful to Dr. Walker for her skill and expertise. I had no other problems from my cataracts; no nighttime halos and rays when driving. Dr. Walker removed my cataracts, and my vision is now 20-20 and 20-25. HOWEVER, I now have significant problems driving at night. I have light rays coming down from traffic lights that extend into my car. I have light rays in my rear view mirror. There are starbursts from oncoming headlights. I see rays coming from my neighbors' porch lights, so I don't take evening walks. I can't drive at night without significant problems, and will not venture more than a mile from home. I'm completely disabled when it comes to nighttime driving. During the day, I sometimes have "fluttering." It's been 7 months since my surgery, and Dr. Walker has no idea why I'm having issues. She says I'm "seeing better than I ever have," referring to my prescription change, but completely disregarding the major problems I'm having. I would gladly wear contacts again if it meant I wouldn't be going through this ordeal.

Shortly after I sit down, about 10 minutes, a different girl at the desk informed me that the Doctor Who accepts my insurance wasn't in today so I cannot be seen today. I hired a babysitter to watch my three children to make this appointment because I'm having really bad eye symptoms and I really needed this appointment. All for them to completely waste my time and money and tell me that it was a "slip up" and that there was nothing that they could do for me. This office is extremely unprofessional, and I will not be returning.

Only after consulting another surgeon did I fully understand that my eye was complex and outcomes could vary. What I cannot accept was the response afterward. When I returned distressed -- unable to read my phone, struggling with depth perception, even falling -- I was given shifting explanations and conflicting narratives and was ultimately made to feel the outcome was my fault. Dr. O'Brien's communication style came across as rushed and dismissive. When I raised concerns, the response felt combative rather than collaborative, leaving little room for genuine dialogue about my care. The payment was complete; the accountability was not. I am now under the care of another surgeon while I explore options to correct what was done.

I had a good experience in the office & felt like they took me seriously & gave me a thorough exam. They confirmed nothing was wrong - and it was dry eye giving me the blurred vision. I left & continued the drops & night gel & still nothing works And i continue to have severely blurred vision. 2 more months & I couldn't stand it & looked for a third opinion & made an appointment with Wills Eye 2000 Hamilton Street in Philadelphia. I saw a Dr. Harris - who within 5 minutes into examining me said - you have mild dry eye - which absolutely is not the cause of your problem. An hour later after many tests I was properly diagnosed with posterior capsule opacification (PCO) & am scheduled for a YAG laser capsulotomy next week. It's a quick outpatient procedure for a fairly common problem that should restore my vision. Thank you 2000 Hamilton Wills Eye. Penn Eye Media - you had a big miss here.
