He recommended replacing the compressor and coil since he said they were under warranty and we would have to pay for labor. When I told him we didn't buy the unit from his company, he said that now everything was different. He did charge the unit with refrigerant but I never heard feom him again. Days later, a tech from a Corpus company found the problem almost immediately. The Schraeder valve (same as the valve in tires) was defective. Replaced the $1 part and we're good to go.

I do not understand why the charge for labor is that high, especially since they are already charging $140 for a service fee. Plus as nice as Brinson was, I was disappointed that he left his half-empty drink outside on my trash container that I had to bring in the house, empty out and throw away. Just sayin'. These were uneducated kids sent to work without supervision for install, and the only issue was they never replaced the roof jack! But everything else was being replaced!! My personal belongings were broken and damaged as well. Ever since this install this machine has had nothing but issues. This implies that they work to prioritize emergencies so that all customers can get service in a way that the techs are not stressed. Our tech was delayed for his morning appointment, and we were called immediately to reschedule, still on the same day. The tech was able to diagnose the problem within 15 minutes and show us the part needed to get it all working again. In addition, he recommended putting new tie-downs on the outside compressors to adhere to windstorm regulations. He had one set of tie-downs, but not both, so another appointment was arranged for the second set. I was unfamiliar with the pricing scheme that AAA used (parts are priced to include labor), and was unhappy with that, so AAA was able to explain in writing how they arrived at their numbers, and to give me a new invoice more in accordance with what this yankee girl is used to (the prices are reasonable considering the expertise of the techs). All in all, I would recommend AAA not only for emergencies, but for preventative work. I intend to get a quote from them when we need to replace our aging units.

We couldn't have made a better decision. They are honest, they show up when they say they will, they don't try to upsell you anything. They just do great work at a reasonable price. That same "other company" also tried to take advantage of my mother and so we called Express Air for a second opinion. It turns out the other company switched some wires around during a maintenance call and then tried to charge my mother thousands of dollars for a new unit when all she needed was to have two wires switched back the correct way. If you want honest, dependable service at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Express Air for all of your AC/heating needs.
