It sucked big time - I have had lousy experiences with several local ac places here so decided to try these guys out. I was more than impressed with the service! It was late when I called, around 7pm on a Friday. The girl who answered was so sweet and checked her computer to see if there was a tech in my immediate area or if she needed to call one from another area. There was a tech immediately available and within a half hour he was here. Such a nice young man, he diagnosed the problem, showed it to us and then gave us a range of options as far as what he could do to fix it. He gave us a price for each option, once we decided he keyed it right in and never tried to up sell us on anything. (You want to lose my business then make an up sell attempt on me) The job took him about 2 hours to complete and he gave us periodic updates on it. My only let down was that he wouldn't let me make him a plate for dinner! Come on, the guy missed dinner and anything of interest he had for a Friday night for some sweaty lady!

Are you kidding me! That equates to $2,700 an hour for labor! Even with a senior discount that 30 minutes cost me a total of $367! I do not understand why the charge for labor is that high, especially since they are already charging $140 for a service fee. Plus as nice as Brinson was, I was disappointed that he left his half-empty drink outside on my trash container that I had to bring in the house, empty out and throw away. Just sayin'. I wish I could find a job that paid $2,700 an hour!

I had a new AC/ furnace installed October of 2022 and once installed many pieces on a brand new unit were being replaced because the furnace would not stay on. These were uneducated kids sent to work without supervision for install, and the only issue was they never replaced the roof jack! But everything else was being replaced!! My personal belongings were broken and damaged as well. Ever since this install this machine has had nothing but issues. I've had a great company continually come out to keep working on this unit ever since 2022. Be ware of this company and it's work!

The technician reviewed all options with us and answered all my questions thoroughly. I didn't feel like they were trying to press any of the options and after talking with a couple other local companies we chose their services. This was an easy decision as BJ's didn't press us for the sale and went into great detail about my AC/Heating system. I have had the new outside unit for 9 mos. now and the system is working great. I ran into the owner at a local function and let him know how great his technician was and how professional this job was done. HIs name is Sylvester and he was as nice as can be. He thanked me for my business and gave me his card with his contact number on it!!! He let me know if we needed anything at all just to call and ask. Excellent customer service from this company! I will plan to utilize this company again when it's time to replace the heating system. Excellent customer service, answered all of my questions without hesitation, and explained all of my options at a competitive price. Love it! Thank you BJ's!!!!!!!!!

Extremely Disappointed: Poor Workmanship, Property Damage & Repeated No-Shows…read moreShellaby Air Conditioning in Rockport replaced our AC unit approximately two years ago. Since that installation, we have had them back numerous times because our home has never cooled properly. Our most recent experience has been completely unacceptable. On August 12, Jason, the owner's son, came to service our AC. He recommended replacing all of the ductwork in our attic because our home is over 20 years old. We agreed and scheduled the work to begin Thursday, August 20, with completion by Monday, August 24. We were told we would be without AC during the work, so we made arrangements to be away from our home during that time. When we returned the evening of August 24, a technician was still at our home and was turning the AC on for the FIRST TIME since the work began five days earlier. He told us he would return the following day to finish installing the vent covers and reconnect our UV light. He never showed up or called. Because our home was still extremely hot, we had to make arrangements to stay elsewhere again that night. When we returned and had an opportunity to inspect our home and the work, we were shocked by what we found. There appeared to have been little to no effort made to protect our home while the old ductwork was being removed from the attic. We found damage to walls, door trim, baseboards and ceilings. Someone had stepped on the sheetrock from inside the attic, cracking our hallway ceiling and causing three ceiling lights to drop from the ceiling. Insulation and debris were left throughout our home. Dirty ductwork had been dragged through the house, leaving dirt and stains on our bedroom linens and white linen sofa, duct mastic/sealant was tracked onto our pine wood floors and left to dry in our kitchen sink. Dirty handprints were left around nearly every ceiling vent they worked on. Several vent covers were improperly installed or unsecured, leaving visible gaps between the vents and sheetrock. Some vents were not replaced at all, while other openings were left completely uncovered. We immediately contacted David Falconnier, the owner of Shellaby Air Conditioning, regarding the condition of our home and the damage. He initially made no effort to come inspect the damage until we demanded that someone do so. We were told that Jason, who had scheduled the job and was supposed to supervise it, had been on vacation while the work was being performed and therefore was not there to supervise the crew. David acknowledged problems with the work, took responsibility for the damage, and told us they would make it right. The following day, David sent his daughter to do some cleaning, which did little to address the extent of the mess and damage. Some paint was also dropped off, but that was essentially where the corrective work stopped. It has now been 19 DAYS. No one has repaired the damaged sheetrock. No one has completed the necessary painting or repaired the damaged wood trim. No one has properly installed or replaced the missing vents. No one has reconnected the UV light that was disconnected from our AC unit. And our AC still will not cool our home below approximately 75 degrees. During this time, we were informed that several Shellaby employees had contracted COVID and were unable to work. We certainly understand that employees can become ill. However, Shellaby continued servicing other customers throughout the Coastal Bend during this same period, while our damaged and unfinished home continued to be pushed aside. During these 19 days, we repeatedly informed Shellaby that our AC was still not cooling properly. We were told someone would come out the following day to check it. That appointment was also a no-show/no-call. With no resolution, we went into the attic ourselves to inspect the work and discovered even more concerns: standing water in the AC pan, which appeared to have been stepped on and bent; excessive condensation; cold air leaking around vents and ductwork; water dripping from the copper refrigerant line; duct sealant that remained wet and sticky; sections of ductwork that had not been replaced; and the access door used to change the AC filter had been sealed shut, making it impossible for us to replace the filter. We immediately reported these concerns and sent photos as well. Last week, after numerous calls and messages, we were promised and scheduled to have the HVAC issues and damage addressed today, 19 days later. Once again--NO SHOW. NO CALL. We have given Shellaby numerous opportunities to address this situation before posting a negative review. We did not expect perfection. Mistakes happen. What we absolutely expected was professional workmanship, respect for our home, accountability when something went wrong, and basic communication. Instead, we have been left with property damage, questionable and incomplete ductwork, an AC system that still does not ade
