BEWARE of the Barking Lounge Mobile Grooming. If you are looking for a rude groomer that mistreats…read moreand screams at your 10 month old puppy, burns his little jewels with the overheated clippers, shaves off his nose hair, and doesn't listen to your requests... then this is your place. After looking for a mobile groomer online, I booked the Barking Lounge because of the Google reviews. I called and requested a kind patient groomer for my service dog in training. The girl on the phone assured me that the groomer coming to my home was experienced, very kind and patient with animals. Upon meeting the groomer, I explained to him that my puppy is a service dog in training and under no circumstances should his temperament be tampered with, as he is my medical equipment. I asked him to please stop the grooming, if at any point my dog showed signs of stress and discomfort. I was hoping for a stress- free, fun loving, and safe environment for my pup... like the company advertises. The groomer ignored my request. My pup is trained via Positive Reinforcement methods. He is not accustomed to cooperating with people who use force, fear, yelling, and intimidation. When he gave me my shaved down pup back, which I did not request. He told me my dog was crazy, disobedient, and I should give my service dog anxiety pills or Benadryl to calm him down. Seems like it's the other way around... Negative energy attracts negative energy, so if your dog is feeling the bad energy from a person, their behavior is going to reflect that bad energy. Jarbas isn't just a dog groomer, he studied animal psychology and loves, understands and cares…read moreabout dogs like no other. We had tried many groomers before finding Jarbas and no one came even close to the care and attention this man gives each dog. Can he be expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for and it's not cheap running a quality operation in Miami. Can he be rude? Totally, he's there to pamper your pets, not you. Our dogs were always so excited to go to Ipenema we ended up asking him to board them when we went on vacations, and he did. They loved him. My experience with Ipenema was long time ago (1995-2005). Just wanted to give some background and depth to Jarbas' business. The fact that he's still around in a fickle city like Miami after 30 years, speaks louder than any of these reviews can. Hope you're doing well J. From Spanky and Curly's dad.

I'm leaving this review based on my experience with the general manager, K-Dee, rather than the…read moregrooming itself. My dog does have some anxiety, which I've always been upfront about, and I take steps to manage it responsibly. After returning to this groomer following a break, I was genuinely taken aback by the tone and attitude I was met with. K-Dee's communication came across as consistently negative, overly critical, and at times condescending. Instead of offering constructive feedback, her comments felt exaggerated and unnecessarily harsh, making the situation feel far more extreme than it actually was. At one point, she even told me it "wasn't smart" of me to bring my dog in the first time after giving her anxiety medication, which felt both inappropriate and unprofessional in how it was delivered. As a pet owner, I expect honest communication--but also professionalism, empathy, and respect. There is absolutely a way to discuss a dog's behavior in a calm and supportive manner without making a customer feel judged or unwelcome. Unfortunately, K-Dee's approach did the opposite and created an uncomfortable experience from the start. I was also told she could no longer see my dog, but I had already decided this would be our last visit due to how I was treated. Customer service and delivery matter just as much as the service itself, and that was clearly lacking here. I would recommend others consider how they want to be spoken to and treated before choosing this location.

THE WORST HAIR CUT EVER…read more I brush and bathe my yorkie and trim her in between hair cuts. It had been 2 months since her last hair cut and I made an appt to have a full groom 1st the groomer didn't speak English ( That should of been my 1st sign not to continue) 2nd he cut my yorkies hair very short on her body and legs and left the ears long. He had no clue and obviously had no experience at all. Any experienced groomer knows if you leave the hair long on a yorkies ears it breaks the Cartlidge in the ears permanently and the ears will no longer stand up. 3rd He left all the hair that he cut off my yorkie on my driveway. I shouldn't of paid them. They offered a $10 discount on my next groom. Like I would ever let them touch my dog again! Avoid at all costs
