Want pizza or tasty Italian food and there's a group of you, try Bivianos. This restaurant is fantastic if you are having a birthday party or anniversary and you don't want to make a mess at home. They have a wood-fired oven and they make great pizzas, they love kids (although a lot of the customers don't) and they allow some byo. They also service very tasty meals - Italian based, lots of cream sauces. They have a lot of space and can hold about 150 people - in the restaurant and function space combined. I have eaten at Biviano's a few times lately and i'm impressed. Our party of 4 dined here again last night and our experience was fautless. visited this restaurant on Friday . The location is a little hard to find - it is behind a nursery at Dural. when we did find it, the grounds looked beautiful and well kept. The restaurant also looked tranquil and we were seated near an open window that looked onto the gardens . The room had a lovely ambience even though it was mostly empty. Then I opened my menu. The restaurant looks more fine dining and the prices indicates that that is what they are trying for , but the menu didn't match up . I sat and stared for a long time to try to find something to order and so did my companion. We decided to try the pizza as it's always nice to have another good pizza place to go to , unfortunately this is not one of them for me. The pizza was $25 , for this we expected it to be well made with quality ingredients. The pizza was not the traditional italian style . It was more 1980's Aussie style and was made with a medium base and loaded with toppings. The ham on the pizza was fresh , but it was a chopped style which did not taste like it was a good quality. The mushrooms were cut so thinly that when I picked up some to eat by themselves they tasted a bit like cardboard ( actually they tasted a lot like cardboard - I was trying not to be too mean), the olives were also the bland black variety that tastes like soap to me , sad we could not have some delicious kalamatas. The salad we shared was better and consisted of rocket , beetroot, pomegranate, candied walnuts,Parmesan and balsamic dressing. This was fresh and pleasant tasting. The staff at the restaurant were all great. I could have sat there for a longer time as it was really pleasant in the restaurant, if only the food was better. three stars for the nice atmosphere read more

Ordered the scallops for the entree and they were delicious. The cook on them was perfect, the accompanying sauce was great and the presentation was amazing, the entree was 10/10. The garlic bread was amazing as well. My wife's order of the Balmain bugs was exceptional as well but the Australian's felt their dish was too salty (my wife and I are not). The lamb shanks ordered were also to salty, to the point that one of our table couldn't finish her dish. This brings me to my dish. I ordered the Angus steak with onion rings and broccolini. The presentation was great, but that's where my enjoyment ended. I asked for my steak medium rare and I received it extremely well done, almost to the point of dry. It was a terrible thing to do to such a lovely piece of meat. I notified the waiter and she apologized while taking it back. She confirmed that it was medium rare and said it would be about 6 to 8 minutes for a new one. I was more than OK with this, but in 4 minutes I got a new plate which meant that someone else's steak was being delayed. The worst part was that this new steak was also overcooked to medium well. I accepted it because I wasn't going to wait again. This was a really disappointing experience, especially since it came with really high praise. I'll give you another chance, but it won't be for a while, especially for the amount paid. read more

Service dreadful, food average. The waitress didn't compute that two people were not at the table when we ordered entrees - they subsequently ordered entrees whilst the remainder of the small group had not and then served the two starters with the others mains. Glasses were left empty and hard to get attention to get more wine whilst we were eating. Have tried it twice now and my go back. I have been to Biviano's before & had a lovely time, the service was slow, but overall a good night. Last night unfortunately was the complete opposite Initially we waited over 15mins & 3 reminders for someone to uncork our champagne bottle.. Then 40mins after ordering our meal, we asked for our food..only then did they look into it & realised there had been a mix-up & manager blamed a new staff member giving one of our meals to another table. We asked if all the meals (there was 6 of us) would need to be cooked again, & told no, they were ready & it wouldn't be long... Another 30mins went by, & again asked twice what was happening, with no-one coming back with a response.. We were sitting square in the middle of the restaurant, with no one next to us - how could it not be obvious we were sitting there for so long without food? We waited 1&1/2hrs total after ordering & it was only when I went up to manager that we finally got our food.. And then when I said there had to be some form of recompense for this, we were initially only offered free coffee - it was now 9.45pm & we only wanted to get home..so no. That was all the manager was going to offer (& wouldn't charge for the side of veges..which were not delivered until again reminded & arrived 1/2way through the meal - so of course not!). I stood my ground & demanded better, & all she would give up was corkage. I also asked for the garlic bread that we had had as a starter be taken off - as that was all we had to eat for nearly 2hrs...& she refused. Manager said that, well, no-one had told her that we'd been asking about our food (after mix-up) - she should have been following up, & making sure food was coming asap; & they had to make all our meals again..total opposite of what was said before, 7 as 3 of us had ordered medium steaks, it takes this long...really? 45mins to cook a steak??And why did you not tell us that before?? I said that this is not our fault, you guys made a huge mistake, & we should not be paying full price for this debacle..to which she replied "oh, I'm not blaming you"...seriously??? The whole meal should have been on the house Really really disappointed & will not be recommending this place again read more
