Family owned wine vineyard. Really nice owner who describes each wine to you. The cost to sample wines is a bit pricer than at other places, and you get less wine and no wine glass to take home. Still, great spot. The views here are incredible.

Bring some snacks (fruit, sandwiches etc) and come enjoy some quality wine!! The staff, wine, and view were all amazing. I went to this winery with a friend on a saturday afternoon. She and i both like white, sweet wines and we were offered tastings to two different kinds of white wines. We decided to share the Late Harvest 2016 Riesling Reserve bottle for $20 and WE LOVED IT! it was unlike any white wine we've ever had which is why we chose it. It had this interesting taste- not overbearingly sweet. It was perfect. I can't describe it and do it the justice it deserves so if you like white sweet wine go try it! We sat outside on the patio which overlooked the vineyard and were marinated by Steve Fultz live acoustic guitar. So relaxing and much needed after my crazy work schedule i had that week. Thank you Bitner Vineyards for creating this atmosphere for your guest. Please don't stop. Would doesn't love wine, a view and live music?!!! Never change. I will be back and plan to bring my parents!

Menopause Merlot. Laugh. I dare you. On the day of our tasting room visit many women of a certain age were inquiring about that wine. That Dr Ron Bitner, an entomologist with special interest in bees, and his wife Mary don't take themselves too seriously is communicated in the name Mary assigned their Merlot. That they are serious about wine making comes through in the quality of what is in the bottle for each of their wines. Although not all Bitner wines were in a style that is our preference, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the tasting room and recommend it. BACKSTORY The winery was established thirty years ago with a focus on planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. (Syrah in the States, but Ron spent a good amount of time working in Australia and hence the Aussie name for that varietal.) They now use their estate grown grapes to make their own wines and also sell them to other local vintners. TASTING ROOM & DRILL Located on the site of the winery, the tasting room has a welcome vibe and a lovely deck out back where you can take in the views. Tasting fee is only $5 and waived with purchase. Tastes are provided in good quality stemware. Wine is also for sale by the glass (@$6) if you want to sit and sip. GRACIOUS HOSTS We arrived at the tasting room on the first day of a Passport Weekend for Sunnyslope wineries for which participants purchased a Passport and subsequently had tasting fees waived. We knew nothing of that event until we entered this tasting room, but it drew out a large group that we bumped into first here and then elsewhere who had folks among them whose goal it was to get wine in their glasses as fast as possible to guzzle to get to the next. Mistaking wine tasting for bar hopping, a few in this group were inexcusably rude to the tasting room host when he wasn't pouring fast enough for the temporarily two deep crowd at the tasting bar to suit them. The host remained a gentleman in every sense. Finally Ron Bitner joined in to help and he too was gracious beyond measure with the overly assertive guests. A class act all around for the winery folks. Very nice. WINES We tasted four or five wines. Ron also poured my husband and me a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon that had been opened earlier to share with a visiting wine journalist. That library Cab was luscious but, sadly for us, not for sale. We also enjoyed and purchased a 2008 Cabernet / Shiraz blend (60/40). We thought the NV Menopause Merlot was good too. We weren't as much fans of the Bitner Vineyard white wines. A sign at the tasting bar shared that their 2011 Snake River Riesling scored 90 points in Wine and Spirits and made their list of 22 picks for year's best domestic Riesling and was the only one from ID. Riesling is my husband's and my favorite white varietal and based on quite a lot of it consumed, both domestic and imported over thirty years but the Riesling poured in the tasting room that day was not one we enjoyed. The same was true or the other whites we tasted, which is simply a matter of different palates favoring different flavors and no flaw of the wine. THIS N THAT 1) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking near the door. Unfortunately they have left a few feet of gravel covered parking lot before accessing solid pathway leading to the door. That gravel surface would defeat most wheelchair uses from entering. I hope they fix it, per ADA, to allow winos, ummm...oneophiles, with disabilities to get more easily to the door. (I have MS and this matters for me too.) Level in tasting room and throughout. Level out to patio. 2) TRUFFLES: I hear the Bitners have planted trees infused with black truffle spores so they might harvest black truffles in the future. Wish I knew that before I visited the tasting room so I could ask if they had plans to sell truffles. Now you can ask if you go! 3) EVENTS: The winery seems to be the site of a number of wine events and dinners. On the day of our visit an Idaho winemakers dinner was being moved from deck to covered tent off the gravel parking lot due to windy weather. Had a chance to see the dinner menu which looked like a delicious and intriguing pairing with the wines. Had we known in advance that Bitner hosted these events, we might have reserved two seats. Now you know. Check the events schedule before you go.

Extremely rude and condescending staff. If you want to enjoy a nice time and good wine, don't come here.

Bitner has an excellent venue, beautiful views from their deck. However, their wines were uninspired, a bit thin or green.

I am so sad, and know that I will be for quite a long time , so to ease the pain a bit and help me to stay busy and keep my mind off of losing her, my very beautiful friend decided we should go to Peaceful Belly Farm and relax, have some delicious food, be in nature and around positive people with a beautiful ambience. Of course Peaceful Belly delivered as always. We decided to have a gorgeous glass of Viogner, and thought it would be nice to split a few of the dishes to share. We started with the spinach dip bread bowl, with farm, fresh spinach mixed with a three cheese blend served in a Acme sourdough loaf. The dip was so yummy, creamy and heartwarming, and there were so many layers of flavor. It was just the right amount of salty and the texture was wonderful. It was served in an Acme sourdough loaf which is always delicious. They cut up the top portion of the bowl into small pieces so that we could easily dunk the bread into the dip. It was the perfect way to start the meal. I don't think there was much left of that when all was said and done. The second dish that we decided on together was the deviled eggs. They were beautiful, fresh, farm eggs that were nice and cold and the yolks were whipped beautifully with dill and garlic filling. Garnished on top of the eggs they served this insane, brown sugar, caramelized McIntyre bacon. There were some gorgeous, delicate, yellow, edible flower petals on top which took it over the top aesthetically. They were perfect. It was a serving of four and it was just enough for my friend and I. Last but not least, we had a dish made from homemade chorizo from the James Beard nominated Chef, Dan Ansot of Ansot's Basque restaurant in downtown Boise. It was phenomenal. Made with warm saffron stew that had carrots and sweet pepper, onion and garlic on a creamy polenta base topped with his Basque chorizo and grilling cheese (which is one of my favorite cheeses ever!) It was spicy and so complex. We really enjoyed this dish tremendously. Our server Kayla was wonderful. She checked up on us often, but not too often to make sure that we were enjoying everything and asked if we wanted more wine. The dishes came out in a timely manner and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The atmosphere is gorgeous set in an open space full of greenery and flowers and food growing all about the property, not to mention all of the gorgeous black and white sheep that are grazing peacefully around the restaurant outside. It was a perfect day with a perfect friend with perfect weather and really helped me to set aside the sadness I felt from losing my sweet little fur baby, even if just for a little while. The inside is impeccably clean and a bright open space with plenty of tables. They have a ton of gorgeous dry flowers from all over the property hanging gracefully from the ceiling and they always have fun artwork hanging on the walls. I will always return. They do a good thing for the community and they have a gorgeous space with beautiful food and people. Thank you for helping me through my grief. See you soon!
