Great place to grab a bite. Small little shop to grab a huge sandwich and eat on the sidewalk or to go. Had the Cowboy melt and it was great. It has rotisserie chicken, cheddar cheese, and barbecue sauce. A great combo. My boyfriend had the Gouda Gouda and loved his as well. There is definitely enough sandwich for two meals. Love this little gem! I've been to Bite several times over the last few months, varying between ordering a turkey wrap or customized sandwich - the latter of which always needs to be on dutch crunch, toasted (alwayssss). To order, they have a couple of clipboards that you can fill in, which I think really helps to make sure you get exactly what you want. They have been consistently generous with meat and veggies, flavors are great and I love their garlic aioli. There are a few tables and chairs outside to sit, but I've always taken it to-go. Unfortunately the last time I went, they charged me extra for avocado even though I did not request it (and there was none in my sandwich either) :( I did not realize this until I got home, so I didn't want to walk all the way back - conclusion is: quickly double check the receipt when you're paying, as they do itemize additions. Overall I feel this was just a one-time thing, and this won't deter me from continuing to eat here. read more

This is one of my favorite sandwich spots in the city. They're fast, clean, and precise. You can call ahead to place orders to speed up your pick up or find out when the next batch of fresh rotisserie chickens are coming off the spits. On that note- their chicken is phenomenal. They have pretty decent pasta salads and coleslaw for sides. I used to be a sandwich monster who would indulge in the seven-meat Kitchen Sink but I've gained a more sophisticated appreciation for the Blue Plate wrap. I think all sandwiches comes toasted, but i prefer un toasty sandos. 1) Branding Iron (bbq roast beef) 2) The Gotti (Mortadella, ham, salumi) I thought my "Branding Iron" sando was pretty good, quite huge for 8 bucks, but it's not a must eat place where you drive around the block 10 times before finding a space type of place. Actually there shouldn't be any places where parking takes more than 10 minutes, If they had valet I would of done it. Bonus: They sell my favorite bag of "Dirty Chips." If I'm in the area and find parking within 5 minutes, I would swing by again. read more

This place is tasty! They have so many sandwiches and salads to choose from. They're open late, friendly, and not too pricey (but not too cheap either). They sell Boars Head sandwich meats and cheeses, as well as their own rotisserie chickens which they cook in the shop. The store is just around the corner the hostel we stayed in and definitely brought us back to live after the flight. I like things spicy so the sauce really gives a kick to the sandwich and then I take it up a notch by getting jalapeños and salt and pepper added. This creates the perfect spicy sandwich and I'm never disappointed. I took away one star because I made the mistake of ordering a salad once and it was awful. I was trying to be a bit more carb conscious. Limp lettuce and toppings were all lifeless. Not sure what happened. I figured they use the same ingredients that they put on my delicious sandwich. I never made that mistake again. Sticking with the sandwiches is the way to go. My friend and I are going to be taking a trip this week and we are getting Bite sandwiches for the plane ride. Yummy! This is a must stop anytime I'm in San Francisco. It's a no frills deli with a tiny store front that you can easily miss if not looking for it. It's next door to Hotel Vertigo. It's straight forward, you get a menu with a tiny pencil ,from what feels like it's from your favorite miniature golf course, and check off the type of bread, meats, veggies, and condiments you want on your sandwich and everything is made to order. My go to is always the rotisserie chicken, on Dutch crunch (always get the Dutch crunch it's a San Fran staple) , avocado, lettuce , tomato, onions, sprouts, mayo, mustard, and gouda. You won't be disappointed. Not five star because well it's a hole in the wall and not exactly the epitome of cleanliness. Worth the risk every time. read more

Their vegetarian bite sandwich is my favorite in San Francisco. This is a strong statement because 1 - they sell vegetarian sandwiches EVERYWHERE in SF and 2 - I order the vegetarian sandwich every time. I think I go to Ace's more often so I can come here and get the sandwich to enjoy during my game. Everyone gets SO jealous and wants to know where it's from. They always make the sandwiches right. That's not a given in other places. Everyone I'm with has always enjoyed their sandwiches but I hear the Day After Thanksgiving and the Gigolo are two to keep in mind when ordering. Plus, they have Boar's Head, which to me, is a must. It's a small place, so you do have to wait for your sandwich (worth it). There are three small tables outside that you can try to nab if someone isn't holding you a spot down the street at the bar. The sandwiches are HUGE - I can't always finish it and that's with a veggie sandwich and a really big appetite. They stuff the meat ones so you are getting your money's worth.
