Our children have myopia and some other issues that need to be monitored regularly by a pediatric ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist. It's been so helpful to us with our busy schedules that we have her office down the street from us. Our kids have been seeing Dr. Simon since they were very young... I'm talking 6 month old preemie young. She is highly skilled at her job and is experienced in getting squirmy, pre-verbal children to cooperate and have fun responding to her directions and questions. It's been amazing to watch her interact with our children over the years during their different stages of development. She remembers everything about them at every visit and encourages them to continue to be good people, respect their eyes, and their glasses at a young age. I've had to call the office for various accommodations and emergencies and her staff has always been on top of things. They are always very friendly, understanding, meticulous, and work fast at helping their busy young patients. The only change that came about during the Covid pandemic of 2020 was the office doesn't accept any insurance plans right now. That's not too surprising. The office used to accept insurance before the pandemic. Hopefully times will improve and her office will accept insurance again sooner than later.

In contrast to their Sherman Oaks office and Burbank eye surgery center, this eye care location is…read morea notable disappointment. The environment feels disorganized and the level of professionalism among staff is lacking. Interactions often come across as uncommunicative and at times dismissive. Basic courtesies, such as making eye contact, addressing patients respectfully, and maintaining a welcoming demeanor, are inconsistently demonstrated. Overall, both management oversight and customer service appear to fall short of expectations. That said, the physicians themselves are pleasant and approachable. However, their schedules seem overbooked, and appointments are often brief, with limited time dedicated to each patiient. We waited over two hours for a 3 minute check with a doctor! Beware, parking in the structure is $14.

I was in and out of there quickly but received answers to all my questions and had medication sent to my pharmacy. Everyone in there had a positive attitude which I think is probably pretty hard with this heat wave and having to take care of so many sick people coming their way. Much appreciation for the entire team there and especially my Dr. Kellman.

I had ICL surgery in 2016 and could not be happier with the results. Dr. Dougherty is the doctor…read morewho worked with the FDA to get it approved, so I knew he knows what he's doing. His office is NOT a typical turn-and-burn medical office where I **might** see the actual doctor for 2 minutes. Dr. Dougherty took the time to meet me and my husband, TALKED to me to learn more about me, what I wanted from the procedure, and took the time to explain precisely what I could realistically expect. He also detailed what I MAY get, and what I would NOT get. He has a mandatory next day follow up, which is appreciated so I didn't feel like I was tossed in the wind. My ICL needed a little tweaking, so he did a quick 10 minute LASIK to perfect my vision to what I wanted. The ONLY drawback is he only has offices in Westlake Village (where I went), Camarillo, San Luis Obispo, Thousand Oaks, Encino and Simi Valley. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome he has so many locations, BUT they are definitely NOT close to me (WLV is 150 miles each way). They ease the pain of driving by always having fresh made, still warm from the oven, Otis Spunkmeyer cookies ready!

I have been looking into Lasix for quite some time. I went to see my ophthalmologist & he said he wouldn't medically clear me unless the surgeon is Dr. Tooma. I finally get around to getting a consultation & specifically asked for Dr. Tooma. He also had very limited appts since he is the OG in eye procedures! My patient Liason was Jennfier, who is a total sweetheart. Dr. Tooma was awesome in explaining why he recommended EVO ICL over lasix. He was also one of the original surgeons who brought all this technology to California. Now I can see why my ophthalmologist wanted me to specifically see him. I decided to go with his recommendation since he is the expert. Pre-op procedures were very extensive, which I don't mind at all. I opted to purchase the medicated eyedrops through them. The procedure itself was at a different location nearby. Entire staff has been wonderful. I had my procedure done yesterday. I returned to the clinic in the afternoon for a post op check & also came back earlier today. I have not been able to drive due to the healing process, but I should be able to see. I am still sensitive to the light and there's still a lot of inflammation in both eyes. I am gradually able to see better, so it just takes some patience. I am returning for another check up tomorrow. I love how thorough the doctors have been..I feel comfortable knowing I have been in good hands. As long as my vision improves and I don't have to wear contacts or glasses, I can't complain!
