Let me start of this review by saying we are American. My boyfriend and I came to Provence for the first time. We wanted to experience local foods. We had a long day on a tour of Provence so we decided we to try this local pizza/pasta restaurant that had some good reviews. We walked in and the restaurant was crowded, they sat us immediately which was nice! The lady who I presume to be the owner came over to take our order. We asked for a menu and she provided us one. We ordered pizza and pasta. While we were waiting for our dinner we spoke with the nice gentlemen from Belgium to the right of us. The three people to the left of of were clearly disgusted that we were from the US. While we were eating our dinner (which was good) the lady sat with the people to the left of us and they all seemed to be laughing at Americans. She then came back over and asked if we wanted dessert. I asked for the tiramisu. "Tiramisu" was spelled out on their board of 4 desserts. She then brought me a cannoli and laughed and laughed while she spoke to the table to my left. Even though I saw tiramisu in the dessert case and I knew she understood what I said, I knew she was making a point by bringing me something else. So I ate a few bites and I asked politely for the check (in French). She brought it to me. I put cash down to pay. She took the cash and refused to give me my change. Now, I have spent 10 years of my life in America as a waitress and bartender. I generally tip a generous amount. She acted like I deserve no change and like I was invisible! As an American I do not recommend this restaurant! It is not because of food-their food is delicious! It is because we are not welcome! And that's ok-they should just be more clear about it so we do not waste our time going there! read more
