Wonderful local Swedish restaurant in Malmö and possibly the only place to find plank steak in the city (planka).
At first glance, it seems more like just a bar, but they have a very extensive plank menu (see my photo). We walked in with no reservation and got a table immediately. The staff were very kind and friendly. There is an English menu but not because it's touristy; about 1/3 of Malmö residents are not Swedish (a very young city with many international students).
We tried the ribeye steak and chicken planks. Both were excellent with potato, veggies, and bacon-wrapped asparagus.
Highly recommended to try Swedish planka if you are visiting Malmö!
"Steak on a wooden plank (plankstek) is a staple Swedish dish you'll find at traditional restaurants. Plankstek was a particularly popular in Sweden during the 1970s, but it is now enjoying something of a revival. Plankstek is nearly always served with pommes duchesse (duchess potatoes), béarnaisesås and vegetables, usually grilled or stuffed tomatoes and French beans or asparagus wrapped with bacon."
