I came to Bistro Hilary after getting a recommendation and decided to check it out while I was in the area. It's a really pretty spot with a lot of patio seating. The weather was nice, so I sat outside and it was a great atmosphere overall. I started with a glass of Malbec and the fried deviled eggs. I've never had fried deviled eggs before, but wow... those were easily the best deviled eggs I've had. I'd go back just for those. For dinner, I ordered the filet with asparagus. I asked for it medium, but it came out closer to medium well/well done. That's really my only issue and why I'm giving 4 stars. The steak itself was still tender, so I do think it was a good cut--just overcooked. When I ordered, the waitress asked if I wanted mushrooms or a gorgonzola crust. I usually skip toppings like that because I feel like they can hide the quality of the meat. I even asked if it needed it, and she said no, so I went without. I wanted to taste the steak on its own, and I think it would've been really good if it had been cooked the way I wanted. O...M...G-iminy Cricket...this place is good. My sons and I have been going here for a couple of years now. I always wanted to try it and the first time we went we got the Belgian Waffles...never had such fluffy, light, and FLAVORFUL waffles in my life...if that wasn't enough, the bacon is incredible and the eggs are pretty darn good too. Nice and buttery. The cool part is that the flavor is consistently delicious every time we've gone there. Not once have we had a lesser meal. I don't know how they do it but they unlocked some magic in their recipes and cooks. I've never felt like anything was too heavy or too bland, it's perfect! Worst dining experience in Senoia to date. We asked to be seated on the patio and settled in to a lovely table. Our server Alex explained the menu and specials. We ordered cocktails. 20 minutes later our drinks arrived. We ordered food. Took a pic of our drinks and there it was a time stamp. After 40 minutes of no drink refills and no food I went inside to ask for a manager. Naturally the manager was unavailable but they would "send her Out." I went back to the table and our food was arriving at the same time. Another 5 or minutes and a female manager looking like she as dressed to hit the disco showed up. (It is lunch time). Made excuses and offered a free dessert. We declined and left. Bruce and Alex are the two saving graces for Bistro Hilary. Both made personal apologies for what was not even their bad. This place is definitely a tourist trap. Any place expecting return visits would not treat guests in such a neglectful manner. We are new residents to Senoia and have been trying every eatery. This was our second visit for dinner. The outdoor dining is by far the best in town. The service was good even on a busy holiday weekend. My husband and mother both ordered the chicken Parmesan. When the food was delivered, the waitress asked if we needed anything. My husband asked for some Parmesan on his chicken Parmesan and my mother asked as well at his suggestion. When the bill came there was $1.75 up charge for each of the Parmesan cheese sprinkles. While it is minimal, it seemed tacky. At the least, it seems the waitress should have said something. Even fast food sandwich places offer Parmesan cheese with no up charge. read more

Our coworker picked this spot for a team dinner after a long, exhausting work week, and we're all glad he did! The place strikes a perfect balance between elegant and casual, with seriously delicious food. Fun fact: our boss had never tried deviled eggs (can you believe it?), and this spot introduced him to their unique "crunchy" deviled eggs--Georgia-style, which of course means deep-fried! They were a hit. Our waitress was super friendly, had a great sense of humor, and gave us some solid menu recommendations. Sadly, we didn't take her advice (those real crab cakes looked amazing), but it wasn't for lack of temptation! I went for the 12 oz ribeye, which was juicy, flavorful, and didn't need a drop of steak sauce. My coworkers went with whatever caught their eye, and no one left disappointed. The beers flowed like wine, and I was even treated to a mountain of fries that I didn't expect--but somehow managed to finish. Food and atmosphere great, ordered bronzino (sea bass) was the tiniest little filet with a super small side of mixed vegetables. I ate it in 4 bites (seriously). Could have ordered 3 $10 appetizers and gotten more food. $31 for such a small portion was a total rip off.. won't be back. read more

A beautiful ambiance and fantastic service! I enjoyed my experience, I just was a little underwhelmed by a dish that was brought back by popular demand, the Beef Bourguignon. He just lacked that zesty tanginess that lingers on your tongue with a Bourguignon. It just was slightly bland, and I kept adding salt, salted it again, and I had even more salt which just didn't seem right. The meat was deliciously, tender, and the noodles were perfectly prepared, but the flavor was just a little blah. We tried the deep fried deviled eggs, and those were fantastic. But let's be honest, what isn't good deep fried. For dessert I had the lemon cheesecake. Not only does it come in a cute little chilled, mini glass bowl, it was fantastic. Met friends for Sunday brunch at 1 pm with a reservation. The restaurant was not crowded. They were out of waffles. Couldn't they make more batter?? My friend had called on Saturday to ask if she could order off the regular menu and was told yes but upon arrival, our server said no. No ice in water or iced tea. Slow to get food and drink refills. Try it you will like it, despite the name. Creative, healthy, non- typical south,. Choices without being fried or smoked or layered in gravy. Overall 4/5 Stars Food: pros are the taste and menu. Steak was delicious and so were the onion rings. We had the mozzarella pillows (cheese curds) for an appetizer and it was solid. Cons: portion size for the price point and they charged us for ranch with an over $100 steak. Wife ordered the burrata cheese appetizer and it was so small. Came with one piece of bread to eat with it. Overall portions were really small vs price point. Thankful I got the larger specials steak or I would have left hungry. Price: it was pretty expensive compared to the amount of food we received. Charged me for ranch and even after I finished the "competition steak" there was really no reward other than a large bill. Hey at least the waiter won some "silverware". My opinion either serve portions comparable to price or lower prices. Service: it was fine. I'm not sure if he's an actor in his spare time but I felt as if he was auditioning for a role at times. Took forever to get drinks & like I said above paid for a $100 plus steak and onion rings and asked for one ranch and was charged extra for it. He really talked up this competition steak, but apparently it was a competition between staff. Overall he was fine, but never refilled the water and slow on ordered drinks. Well, the service is always great. I've been eating here for almost 5 years but I'm beginning to notice everything I ordered is so over salted for me. The fried deviled eggs are always amazing, but I could only eat one and a half this time And my chicken dish with buttered noodles was entirely incredibly salty This is like the third time I've noticed the salt being pretty prevalent in every entrée I may have to take a sabbatical from this restaurant and I'm curious if anyone else has noticed how much salt is going into the food Last time I was here I had a fillet and it wasn't cooked like a steakhouse. It had some sort of spice on it so maybe this is my thing anymore. I really love this restaurant and I've had lots of great experiences here but the salt is definitely taking me out of the game But for somebody else, salt may be the ultimate timing experience lol read more

On a lark we drove up to Sinoia today from my sis and BIL's cottage at Calloway Gardens where we're staying, for lunch at Bistro Hilary and were abundantly rewarded for the hour-long drive through scenic southwest Georgia. The restaurant welcomes you with a lovely, beautifully landscaped, quaint street-side patio seating area set in front of this attractive, apparently historic, white brick building. Once inside I thought the interior with its minimalistic tables and chairs looked austerely bare. Many of the white topped tables had no tablecloth and those with a tablecloth were topped with a piece of disposable brown paper. The bistro would surely be much more warm and inviting if set with tablecloths, stemware, napkins, silverware, etc; and maybe a decorative piece like a vase and flowers. But that's just me. And this may be a temporary thing due to the situation many restaurants face these days due to pandemic response revenue loss and a shortage of help. We were, nonetheless, quite comfortable and promptly attended to by our excellent and very pleasant server, Keri-Lynn. We decided to share the Caesar Salad and the Trout Almandine. The Caesar Salad was world class. All the requisite ingredients and flavors perfectly balanced. And the croutons! Without question the absolute best we have ever had in any restaurant and, yes, even better that we have ever made ourselves at home (which if I may say so is saying something LOL). I didn't have to ask if they were house made but, of course, they are. I asked if they were made from brioche, which they are. And they are not cut into cubes. They are hand-pulled into small pieces rendering the irregular shapes of the croutons ever so crispy having then been baked or sautéed with a light coating of olive oil and a perfectly mild, but flavorful seasoning. I would order a bowl of these for an app if offered! The trout, like the salad, came individually plated from the kitchen. Each plate graced with a perfectly sized portion of butter-sautéed sugar snap peas and fancy-cut, small carrot rounds. The trout, lightly bathed in clarified butter with sautéed sliced almonds was cooked to fish perfection as were the vegetables. So enjoyable to have vegetables shown this kind of love and not just mailed in as plate filler. And for the kitchen to individually and attractively plate a split order for old folks with small appetites with no split plate charge... huge indication of a store that has it's patrons in it's best interest and not it's bottom line. A++. We selected a bottle of a modestly priced French Chenin Blanc which at first I thought was a bit on the sweet side, but with the meal proved quite enjoyable. We're thinking very seriously about making the trek again on Sunday for brunch. read more

Bistro Hilary is an adorable Parisian style cafe in downtown Senoia. My family and I came here for a very late brunch one Saturday. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. We sat in a cute, private room filled with beautiful artwork and decor. Since we were a fairly large group of about 9, I appreciated our server's patience as I know multiple, hungry people shouting out orders can be confusing and frustrating. For appetizer, we ordered two fried deviled eggs. Whoever thought of this dish is genius. It was amazing!! For entree, I got the ribeye steak and frites, but replaced the fries with salad. That steak melted in your mouth and the flavor was everything! Even though we live an hour away, I would absolutely come back to Bistro Hillary again! read more

Went here tonight and the place was half full, got asked if I had a reservation and said no, was told to wait outside but that's where I wanted to eat anyway. 2 minutes later the waitress came out and walked us to one of the many empty tables. They have little signs at every table that say they can't be sued for bee stings or flies in your food or drinks. For good reason it turns out, the place was crawling with flies. If you do go here, I recommend sitting inside but I don't recommend going here. Ordered the Charcuterie board and it was about half the size of any I've ever seen. Pretty tasty though, the flies loved it. Had a couple drinks and ordered the Pomodor meatballs which had sparse tomatoes and little sauce but hardly any flavor and were basically just hamburger balls. 3/29/2022 FIRST VISIT Bistro-mixed menu. Nice outdoor seating, didn't go inside yet. Hostess/waitress was charming and very competent. Manager/owner(?) stopped by to check on us. Went to try the Fried Deviled Eggs- they did not disappoint and I want more. I had lasagna, good sauce, a little too much, i like a more balanced dish, more noodles to sauce ratio. But no fennel (or Italian sausage) was a rare lasagna find. Hubby had the burger, he said ok, but nothing special. Will go again for the eggs and try more menu items. read more

You may, however, choose to sit in the more casual patio areas as you take a lunch brake from shopping with a friend in the quaint downtown streets of Senoia! The French inspired cuisine is freshly made using local ingredients, and is extremely decadent. For an appetizer, try the Charcuterie board, and for dinner, I recommend the braised lamb risotto or the Korean Barbecue Short Ribs. Definitely worth another trip to try the crepes (if you're in the mood for something sweet)! read more

We stumbled across this amazing restaurant doing a quick day trip to Senoia. Oh we were pleasantly surprised to find this to be such a charming experience. The staff here was very friendly and you could feel the southern hospitality. Our server was genuine and very knowledgeable of the menu. She made great recommendations without overdoing it. We had the Harvest Salad to start with and it was one of the best salads I've ever had because of the mustard vinaigrette/ranch swirl dressing! For my entree I had the swordfish special and it was so delicious! My wife had the bowl and add a Cajun chicken and it was clean and healthy! We finished up with the blueberry pie and ice cream and words just can't express how great it was! Senoia is so quaint and such a great place to visit! We were excited to come down here for a friends birthday party and we're even more excited to make more frequent trips just to visit this place! read more

Cute farm to table restaurant. Great service with mediocre food. Very few vegetarian options. The fried mozzarella was delicious, however the tomato soup, grilled cheese and chickpea fries were all just okay. The chocolate cake was one of the worst I've ever had. We can here for my daughters birthday brunch. We were a party of 7. The ambience is very nice. We sat on the patio out front which was nice as well. The food was delicious the price for our salad with chicken was over $20 dollars which seemed a little high. We had a couple of appetizers eggs Dijon and mozzarella pillows which were very good. Our waitress really lacked personality and seemed a little off put when helping us. We were the only customers on the patio and it wasn't busy since we arrived just as they opened.
