The food is tasty, and freshly prepared, the fish dishes are particularly good (especially the spicy salmon) and when they say it's hot, it's hot. The service is friendly and competent, if sometimes a bit on the slow side. Great cocktails all add to the fact that I can only recommend it if you're in the area. Don't be afraid to take off your shoes and sit at the special table, you don't really sit on the floor, it's a sunken seating area, so even an old fogey like me can manage. Oh and if you're a bit of a pyromaniac, you'll love the mixed starter for two (see photo), just don't dip your food into the green stuff, wait for your waiter to light it (this is the voice of experience - oops).

I took home a couple of bottles of the helles pils and it was just okay by the time I made it back to the US. The food was good. I had the bratwurst and have no complaints. The service was also good. In fact our server looked like a movie star and I was fortunate enough to have a colleague with me that was German and could do all the ordering. I visited in April of this year and they had just opened up the outdoor seating, which is picnic style tables. The place was packed and lively. We sat downstairs in a corner and it was just fine. I would definitely recommend and would go back next time I am in town.

As for lunch, I have been in Germany and Czechia for the last ten days-I needed something other than meat. The only thing missing here was a belly dancer, and a flying carpet to whisk you home after you've eaten your way into Nirvana (wrong cultural reference, but go with it). The food is really quite good. I was there for lunch; the buffet was really great-a taste explosion. It would have been nice if the waiters had been a bit friendlier, but, hey you can't have everything.

I said no, and he told me I could choose any seat our party of three wanted. That was really nice of him. First of all, the decor is amazing. It's so beautiful to see every little detail they've added to the inside and outside of the building. I was eager to order once I saw the large menu. I went for the #76, which had lamb and chicken, and I decided to swap out my rice for a fresh salad and was really happy with it. The ground lamb was incredibly tender and full of flavor, making it easy to enjoy. The chicken was juicy and bursting with taste, too. I do wish I had remembered to ask for a little raw onion on the side, since I love pairing it with meat. My coworkers, who weren't familiar with Persian cuisine, found the charred tomatoes a bit surprising, but honestly, I think that adds to its unique charm. Next time I visit Darmstadt, I can't wait to dine here again!

It was cooked to precision with great seasoning. The salad has flavorful dressing and offered a great company to the steak.
