Such a pleasant dining experience. I sat outside with my mom. The waitress was so thorough and delightful. She also made spot on suggestions. Her tastebuds are legitimate from appetizers to dessert. I felt like there was a cheat code. Everything came up roses. I ordered the butternut squash raviolis with the minestrone soup. The pistachio cheesecake is a light and flavorful dessert. Also Jesus came out with the pepper and cheese and answered my question about the great tasting bread. Very friendly guy. It was an easy and nice time. They also have a room on the side with a small bar and some tables. I recommend trying this restaurant. So tasty.

Im leaving 1 star because I have to. But we just had this catered at my job & it was NOT good at all! I had the Primavera Pasta & it was tasteless. But what's even worse than that is the fact that I opened up the fruit just find MOLD in it! Needless to say, I will never go eat there. This left a very unsettling impression.

Sseafood special - delish!!!

Meeting a friend for dinner. We ate here several times in the past. This time we ate indoors. We had a table in the back. While it was pretty empty, it was very quiet and easy to hear each other talking. Service was excellent throughout. I ordered the seafood pasta special. Frankly, it sounded like the seafood special I had the first time I came and that was excellent. It was described as shrimp, calamari, and salmon in a red sauce. To my surprise, it came out swimming in what looked like a reddish broth rather than a red sauce (see the photo). My friend got the same dish but in a garlic sauce. Her's was also swimming in a broth. The dish was bland to the point of being flavorless (adding salt and Parmesan cheese was of not help). I ended up eating the fish out of the dish and leaving over the rest. Another gripe was they now add a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. I get it - VISA charges them and they pass the cost on to the customer. They should just tell you up front and give you the option of paying cash to avoid the add on costs. So 5 star ambiance and service with 2 star food. Will I come back - yes. But I will ask about the sauce ahead of time to make sure it is a sauce and not a broth.

We went back to Bistro 13 for dessert because we wanted a special treat when we went to the beach. Again, Giovanni and his staff exceeded our expectations!! We had a pistachio cheesecake that was orgasmic! It's not like any cheesecake you've ever had. It's from Italy. The tiramisu, of course was fabulous. If you want a special experience and treated like you are the queen, Bistro 13 is your place. It is our favorite place.

Wonderful place! Had dinner here at this hidden gem! The food was spectacularly delicious! Everything was very fresh, tasty and served at the perfect temperature! The service was top notch! Never an empty glass and always very friendly and attentive! The ambiance is very cozy and warm. I could see spending all evening there with my lovely wife or friends and family and a nice bottle of wine. Great place that my brother Glen took us to! I hope to be back soon!

Arrived at 8:27

Very disappointed I was there at 8:27 And not being able to order I have no choice but to base my review on customer service. In my opinion they missed the mark I understand they have business hrs for a reason but to refuse an order 30min prior to posted business closing hrs is my opinion poor customer service.

This was our first time at Bistro 13. We were passing through the area and called our regular Italian place that we have frequented and they would not take a reservation or put our name down until we got there, so we looked for an alternative and found Bistro 13. We everything happens for a reason. We were welcomed with open arms. The service was outstanding. Great recommendations, and always had someone coming by the table to check on us. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center, but don't let that dissuade you from stopping in. The inside is divided from the entry/kitchen side and the main dinning room. We sat near the entry in front of the kitchen and got to see all the action. The food! I had the seared salmon, and it was fantastic! My wife had the eggplant and she said it was the best she ever had, and she has it often. My daughter had the Chicken Picatta. She gave me a taste and it had the perfect balance with the lemon in the picatta sauce. All the dishes were amazing. We found a new Italian restaurant in the area, and were telling all our friends. Until next time, Cheers!

I absolutely cannot get enough of this place…read more The basement here is really the place to be. I love the ambiance, and the history on the walls. The cocktails change so it's always fun to come back! I always try to be there when this section opens. I love the calmness of the space and it gets livelier as the night progresses and it does get packed Always one of my highly recommended spots for people who want great drinks, fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. I'm looking forward to my next stop in!

If you're going to hang your hat on the speakeasy aesthetic--dim lights, hushed tones, whispers of…read moreexclusivity--then understand this: you're entering into an unspoken pact with your patrons. We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. A place with this much atmosphere shouldn't fall flat when it comes to what's in the glass. It's a mismatch--a beautiful stage, but a script that doesn't quite rise to meet it.

Their parking is interesting but they have multiple entrances so you can get in from the shop or the main door, etc. They only have one sour beer, which I did not like so I did not end up getting beer. However, their food was good. We had multiple salads. The pesto chicken was good, we also had the barbecue chicken, bacon salad, but without the bacon. It came with a bacon and I asked Alex and they ended up making a new one without the bacon, which was really good. I have to say this is my favorite one. We also have the Carne Asada pizza, veggie pizza, tri-tip pizza, soft pretzel. Food was good, good atmosphere, good service despite being really busy. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

My friend had an open tab and realized once we got to the parking lot that he had forgotten to close it. He immediately went back inside. It was only around 11:05 PM, about five minutes after closing, and there were still other customers inside the establishment. When he asked to close out his tab, he was told he would be charged an additional fee because the tab had been left open and they closed at 11:00 PM. I understand having a policy for tabs that are actually abandoned, especially if someone leaves for the night and staff have to close everything out after everyone is gone. But that was not the situation here. He had not left the premises, came back in immediately, and there were still customers inside. Charging someone an extra fee under those circumstances felt unnecessary and unfair, especially over a matter of five minutes. My whole group has been repeat customers and have always left satisfied, so it was disappointing to be treated this way over something that could have been handled very easily. Unfortunately, this experience definitely changed our impression of a place we previously enjoyed coming to. Especially considering we come here to celebrate birthdays many times a year!

Fire Brewery…read more.. Stopped into Topo while in town for work... What a cool place. Great outdoor seating area, friendly staff, and excellent brews. We ordered Schooby's, which is connected to Topo and the food was also top notch. If I didn't have to work, I could have sat here all night... In this case, he went for a sampler when we were dining at Shooby's. The four options he chose were on the light side, with a hint of fruity flavors. There was only one that I really cared for - which made me long for the good old days of pizza and beer. One was too bitter for me, and the other two didn't really make much of an impression. DH did better - he enjoyed 3 of the 4. He said that none of them was a huge standout, but he appreciated that they had such a variety of choices available. Apparently, there's not much in the way of inexpensive drinking these days. The four samplers came up to a whopping $16, before tax and tip. Whew! I think the concept of having Shooby's (burgers & chicken), Rori's (artisanal ice cream), and Topa Topa Brewing Company all under one roof in Old Town Camarillo is quite brilliant. There are lots of tables available for dining and drinking. I suspect that we'll be returning to this location for casual dining and imbibing.
