Well, now I know and this is where I'll be spending my money getting fresh cuts of meat for my family. I wanted rib eyes and I'd been checking the prices of several retailers. I checked that farmer's market, Publix and last I called Tripoli. Tripoli has the lowest prices so that's where I went. When I walked in I was greeted warmly by the little lady behind the counter. I asked for rib eyes but the owner Mahmoud Mohammed said that he'd be happy to process some for me as they were fresh out. I agreed. He was so polite and accommodating I looked around while I waited which was only 5-10 minutes. I also bought some roast turkey and turkey ham which I haven't been able to get anywhere here in Atlanta. My teenage son even took his face out of his phone and picked out some kabobs to make later. I called my mother as soon as I got home and told her about my great experience and she said she'll go check it out too. If you're looking for a fresh clean meat market with a great selection, check out Tripoli Halal Meat Market. FYI: In case you're unaware, there is no pork so you won't find any there but if you're looking for a Halal or even a clean orderly meat market with great prices go visit Tripoli Halal Meat Market in Marietta Georgia. He takes all forms of payment so swing by there. I recorded Mahmoud processing my rib eyes and the other things available to buy so go shop there! *I took great videos of my time there but uploading here is a nightmare.

And unlike a lot of places I have zero worry from Mitch's about the meats and fish being anything but top notch and super fresh. Plus - by ordering ahead Mitch always has what I want - butchered the way I want it. Lots of the businesses I support have "rules" I don't love (like breakfast starting at 8 am vs its real starting time of 6 am) :). But I just work around 'em. One of the great things about owning your own business is you get to figure out how to run it your own way. Mitch definitely has a way of running his -- but I'm a raving fan and I love being able to order ahead and just run in and pick it up. Swim with the current! Go Mitch - we appreciate y'all!

And the rules can be a hassle if you are not planning ahead. It's all entirely true. BUT... Good lord is the meat good. The man knows his trade. His sourcing is top notch, and once you make it inside the store, he is attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about how to store, prepare, and cook every product he sells. I can only afford it every once in a while, but if I need an absolute slam-dunk for a special occasion, I always hit up Mitch. His manager lady (I'm sorry I don't recall your name!) is incredibly nice and helpful, making suggestions and giving tips. The business has its quirks, and if you don't like the rules or the prices, it's best you go somewhere else. But if you're in need of one of the best pieces of meat you've ever had, suck it up and go see Mitch. Call ahead and you're golden.

I pulled these off of Google since I haven't been back to your restaurant since. You can find these same photos in the Google reviews." Edit: "In my Google review, I acknowledged I had the surcharge amount incorrect, but this didn't excuse the fact that they are charging more than their advertised price without any warning, and none of their staff had a definitive explanation why. Claiming I posted a fake review because I had a poor experience is not taking accountability. Expecting a gratuitous tip in a self-service restaurant where you were overcharged and gaslit is comedic. The establishment is behaving like this is over $2, when they're overcharging each customer without a proper explanation. Why would I come back?" My negative review is based primarily on the restaurant's pricing practices, not the food. Check your bill carefully before paying. Based on my experience, the price you're charged may not match what's advertised. I had dinner here with my dad on a Sunday night. The signage clearly listed the price as $30.99 per person, but when we received our bill, we were charged $32.34 per person. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was initially told the difference was because of taxes. However, taxes were already listed separately on the bill, so that explanation didn't add up. I was then told the higher price was because we paid by credit card. The problem is that nowhere on the signage did it state that $30.99 was a cash-only price or that there would be an additional card fee. The difference was roughly a 4.5% surcharge. After I questioned that explanation as well, I was given a third reason: the restaurant was under new management and had recently increased its prices. Changing prices is completely understandable. What isn't acceptable is advertising one price and charging customers another without clearly disclosing the difference beforehand. Eventually, they acknowledged the discrepancy and refunded us the difference in cash. What bothered me most was receiving a different explanation each time I challenged the charge. Whether this was intentional or simply the result of poor management, customers shouldn't have to scrutinize their bill and argue in order to receive the advertised price. I strongly recommend checking your bill before paying here. I hope management updates its signage and establishes transparent, consistent pricing so other customers don't have the same experience.
