Park use to be my go to for all things amazing meats for years. It is unfortunate that after COVID they have had a difficult time returning to their once high status in my book. Today was my last attempt. The parking lot was empty and shelves were bare and the coolers looked to contain only links and chicken breast. The smell isn't even the same; it's less than to missing. We have been loyal Patak customers until they closed down due to a disastrous fire in about 2021. They have never managed to get the shop going again . Never have any stock and not even 10 % of the products they had on offer. I can only guess it is very poor new management or lack of interest by the owners .Such a pity! read more

Updated October 2025? Just checked today 27 Oct. 25: Patak Meats is, unfortunately, CLOSED. And this time, I think it's for good. Their American dream turned into a nightmare after a fire destroyed their small home meat processing plant - and that during covid. It survived for a while but most of what made them so special was just not there. I feel for that family and wishes them all the best. Mail orders are fine but that feeling you had when entering their store, yesteryears, is gone. I shopped regularly there from 1986 till end of 2019. read more

We checked your website which was out of service. I then called and was told via automation that you were open from 9 till 5 today. I requested to talk to an associate in the store twice but got no answer. I drove to your store (1 1/2 hours round trip) and found the gate locked. Please change your phone message to state that you're closed so that others aren't fooled into trying to support your business. It's the right thing to do. read more

Severely understaffed. I had to wait in line for over an hour to buy some sausage. Normally I would have walked out, but I spent 45 minutes to drive there so I sucked it up. There were actually several staff members present but only one or two filling orders. It doesn't seem that they have any appreciation for their customers. read more

I shopped Patak Meats ever since they started. I was always satisfied with their products. Unfortunately, last Tuesday I purchase some Knockwurst and Polish sausage, and they came in various sizes from regular size to foot long, No consistency at all. I also inquired about smoke bacon. They did not have any, but I was told to call the store and reserve it. I have call 5 different times on Wednesday but no answer. Left 2 messages and still no answer. Since Tony Patak, retired the store is going downhill. The production team does not even inform the sales personnel what they will have and when. Over the years I have spent thousands of dollars at the store, driving 120 miles round trip. I am sorry to see them loose customers, as several people walked in the store only to turn around and walk out. read more

We went to get some wurst and were told they didn't have any and for us to call to check on availability before coming to store. We spent all day 6/12/25 calling and got no answer. So we drove to store and they told us they didn't have any of the items and when we questioned them about not answering the phone they said the phone was on and off all day. As we were checking out I called them, when the cashier walked over to the phone to answer it I told her she did not have to answer that it was me. The cashier got very rude and angry and said they only had 3 people working and she would only answer the phone if she could. I then told her then don't tell customers to call if your not going to answer. She looked right square in my eyes and said "Don't call". I said not just me all customers. Don't get me wrong I am understanding when it comes to only having a certain amount of employees...but there were no customers in the store when we got there. There was 1 couple that came after we were there. They were being helped by the lady behind the counter. 2 days prior when we stopped by there were also NO customers in the store. This is a place of business that is open to sell products to customers whether it is private individuals or businesses buying from there. The employee got mad because she got called out on not answering the phone. The excuses they gave were 1) COVID and 2) a fire that occurred couple years prior. You can't use the same excuses indefinitely for poor business. Patak was awesome years ago but has since went downhill and getting worse. I would not recommend them to anyone!!!!!! read more

We drove all the way from Augusta to buy our favorite German sausage and meats, they had absolutely nothing except some dry looking sausages. I only bought frozen meat to make Rouladen and they had only 3 slices of meat left in the freezer. Before everything was fresh, now you can forget about Patak and that's exactly what I'm going to do. read more

Really disappointed with the customer service. Been a loyal customer for seven years. Was patient when they had to rebuild after the fire shut done the store for a year. Lately, I would try to call ahead to see if they had smoked pork chops prior to driving across town, but lately they do not pick up the phone. I have driven there a couple of times and came up empty. You guys, I just got my package of meats I ordered from Patak and opening the cooler it was shipped in was so fantastic smelling it just wafting out as soon as the lid comes off was like a gentle kiss of smokey heaven. I'm giving Patak 3 stars because of how nice the facility is and what they once had in product. Currently, their inventory is way, way down, and still don't have the smoked meats that I came to love. This place lives up to the hype. Yes, there's a line out the door and parking is a hassle. Suck it up, it's worth it. They are open weekdays but only the 1st Saturday of the month. Did I mention they cure and smoke their high quality meats in house? I had no clue what to expect other than a German butcher shop. You walk in and the first person that gets order will stay with you until you are completely done. The difficult part is deciding what you want and knowing when to stop. Today they had New York strips on sale so we got those, added mild Italian sausages, Swiss salami, corn beef, aged baby Swiss , smoked Gouda, smoked salmon and 2 types of perogies. It all came to about $70 which sounds like a lot but compared to what I pay at my grocery Deli counter, this stuff was a steal! We got home and made the sausage with sour kraut for lunch and New York strips for dinner. The deli meats we saved for a charcuterie when guests came over the next day. The meats really did make a huge difference in flavor. The sauseges tasted rich, the deli meats where on point and the steaks came out restaurant quality This place isn't close to home but while I was there I ran into folks that came from Alabama. If they can come a few times per year for meats, I can drive a little out of my way just as often for a taste of meat heaven. read more

When I get a chance to come to Patak Meat Products, I will come! Their bacon is worth the trip for me. They have limited hours. I know that. However, I am willing to wait! It has been a while since I've been to Patak. I saw photos on Facebook about the new, improved building and better parking space. As I go on a Friday morning, I took one of my friends who doesn't live too far and never heard of the place. Her life is going to get changed! Lucky that she lives close by. The place is huge compared to what I was used to. Great job, Patak!!! You always had great customer service anyways. I love the flow. If you're used to how it was, there are automatic sliding doors now! There's carts too. They no longer hold your products and give to you so grab a cart. Another thing that has changed is the smoked section is first, not the raw meats. The breads and other stuff (pickled cans, candy, bread) are last before you head to cash register. I always meet people in line who live so far away and make the trip just for bacon. Almost everyone in line got bacon. When I come, I get at least 10 lbs of bacon. No lie! I always get the smoked pork chops and Bohemian smokies too! Oh yeah, don't forget the gypsy ham. My friend tried the gypsy ham and liked it. We also try the hot link which has jalapenos. It was delicious so got some. My friend told me she fried some bacon up and said it was delicious. She also got the bread and made her sandwich and put the bacon inside. There have been lots of changes to Pataks. They recently expanded their store and parking lot, which just opened at the beginning of June 2019. The new parking lots makes it easier to get in and out. It still looks like they're working on some finishing touches and possible more marked spaces. The new store is very nice. There is a queued line and when you enter you can grab a small cart or basket to hold your products. They no longer hold your items for you in a basket behind the counter, just in case you've been in the past. The order of the cases has changed but the premise is still the same. Stand in line, wait until you are next and the associate helps you, same associate follows you in the order of the cases to help you with your selections, at the end you stand in line to pay. Sounds easy but I've seen a lot of confused people and even today had to tell a woman she dismissed her associate and was loosing her turn in line because she thought someone new helped you at each case. For those who like to prepare for their visit, there is a menu that lists the items they carry most often although you can expect specials occasionally. You can even order in advance and pick it up. I personally like to make my list in the order of the cases so that I don't miss anything or get overwhelmed with all the selections. If that's you too the new order is: sausages, smoked and cured meats/deli meats, cheeses, chicken, pork, brats and ground meats. The stores dry goods selections have expanded and there are a few cold cases with prepackaged meats (pates, sausages, chunks of meat). I'd like to say that all the new room will keep you from sometimes having those visits where you wait in line for over 30 minutes or end up in a line out the door...but with meat this good it's still bound to happen. My trip today, on a Friday at noon, took about 45 minutes total and it wasn't a holiday and I knew exactly what I wanted; so still plan accordingly. (During a holiday week expect to be in a long line.) I only buy my meat from Pataks so the wait is worth it to me. read more

I used to get Smoked Liverwurst here for years, but after the fire service went down to zero. I just find it disappointing that so many customers are effected. The updates are inconsistent. At this point it feels like the business should be sold to someone that can keep the European quality but is also motivated to keep up with its former business model. Maybe they want to stay closed, or reduce their inventory. Maybe there are investigations or licensing issues. But there is no communication explaining the issue. After a fire took this place out of commission for a long time, they came back with pick-up orders and now, have reopened to the public! Their selection is still smaller than it was before, but they continue to work towards their full selection (I hope...I miss the liverwurst so much!). I went in before the holidays (always a busy time there) and restocked on italian sausages, brats, knacks, and perogies. Oh, and bacon! And German candies. The service not so much. one of their sons thinks its ok to scream at his mom in front of customers and is just all around a rude and unwelcoming person. I was recommended to try this place by a German colleague​​s, who is very​ picky about sausages​ and co., indeed he makes his own at his home in Hoover. I'm from the South of Italy, my family​ make their own curated "salumi" since ever, so I get picky when it comes to curated meat! This place is awesome. I think they are Polish (not sure though) and indeed the place looks like Easter German Dorothy's house landed in GA! The amount of selection is ​embarrassing​. They got everything. Fresh sausages​, bratwurst, curated meat, spreadable meat, meat by the slice, fresh meat cuts, and any other meat product you can think! All their meats have a common underlying taste, which is given by their smoking​ process which adds a very characteristic taste to all their products. The cost i of the meat is impressively​ low. You pretty much pay no more than $4 per pound of meat. It seems that restaurants in the areas get supplies from them. No wonder why. It's 15min off I20. Give it a try if​ you happen to drive to Atlanta. After I tried the first time I was about to drive in GA from B'ham just for the purpose of getting some of their goods! read more
