Wow, this place is exceptional. They have great selections of meats, seafood and prepared foods from their own kitchen. Prepared foods included chicken and tuna salads, lump crab cakes to die for. Marinated spatchcock chickens ready to cook and other items like that. Wines, cheeses, spices and the list goes on and on. The owner is a former chef and works the counter himself. He's very friendly and helpful. This is a one-stop place to provide an amazing meal to your friends or family. It's a drive for me from Vinings, but worth it. A Butcher!!! A real one. Walked in on restock day: Tuesday. Needed some meat for 4 meals. Butcher/owner asked about all my needs, made recommendations and put me at ease about my selections. Asked about the wines lining the wall and he helped me select a delicious Zinfandel. This place has a little bit of everything; butters, cheese, dairy, sauces, specialty pasta. This is the place to fall in love with cooking again and be inspired. This trip bought 2 center cut filets, sirloin, marinated shrimp, and two hamburger patties. Every item made wonderful meals. Ventured in here looking for a substitute source of 'all the meats' while Patak's Meats is re-building. The staff is very friendly and patient with each customer - so be prepared to wait a bit if they're busy. I told the owner that I was a refugee from Patak's and asked him about Heywood's and The Cajun Meat Company and he had very complimentary things. I often ask people about their competition because I'm curious about a) if they've checked out their 'competitors' and b) I like to see how they'll respond - with graciousness or with snark / bile. The steaks looked beautiful and they have lots of 'prepared' items and marinated items. They were out of crab cakes - my brother is always on the look for a good place to buy fresh crab cakes. But I snapped some pics of the marinated pork belly lollipops because my brother is a big fan of pork belly. They didn't have the meatballs I'd seen on Facebook. I had errands to run and didn't want my purchases to spoil, so instead of buying a couple of steaks, I decided to try the little frozen miniature quesadillas. I'll probably venture back next week for fresh meats. UPDATE: Not deducting a star - but thought I'd mention: the heating instructions are not provided on the quesadilla packaging. The kind owner will TELL you how to best heat and serve. The first night - I cooked a few and the instructions were fresh in mind. Three days later couldn't remember if he said 375, 400 or 425. Suffice it to say, that night - Batch 1 was a complete fail (filling oozed out). Trashed them. Tried it again - Batch 2 - managed to both burn them and make the filling ooze out. Finally, batch 3 turned out just right. 400 degrees. Roughly 18 minutes. It was 3am so I couldn't call the store for help. Lol. Stopped in today on work endeavor, and ended up coming back 20 minutes later to pick up something for dinner because of how amazing it smelled! The owners are so kind, and helped me pick out a beautifully marinated piece of salmon and bottle of wine. Pricing is great for such high quality meats and wines. They have a great selection of sauces, seasonings, and produce as well. Will definitely be coming back! read more

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The staff is very knowledgeable and have great suggestions. I love the quaint feeling of the shop, there are some beautiful live edge cutting boards for sell, that would make great gifts. They have everything you would need to make a great meal at home from the meat, seasonings, veggies, wine, cheese, smoked meats for charcuterie boards and two ice coolers filled with other options for appetizers, pasta, lobster tail, foie gras.. Endless. There's even A5 Wagu, Wagu Burgers for $8 each, and Wagu Ribeye was in the case during our visit. We ended up purchasing the Dry Aged Strip, Wagu Ribeye, and Beef short rig that had beautiful marbling. Definitely would recommend visiting, we surely will be back! read more

I stoped in a few weeks ago for the first time and just checked the spot out. Staff were very friendly and I told them I would most definitely be back. Well today I needed something to cook for dinner and I decided to check them out. I purchase several items but today I cooked some pre marinade Chichen, shrimp wrapped with bacon and some ready for the oven Mac and cheese. All I can say is everything we had was amazing. This is such a great place to have close to home and I will not be ordering delivery anytime soon. This is an awesome spot to grab something to cook for the family on your way home.
