This small hotel is clean & well maintained, has elegant decor, offers a good selection for continental breakfast (included in the price), and the staff is quite helpful. The wi-fi was also free and worked well throughout the hotel, which is rare!
The location is on a quiet plaza a bit off the beaten tourist path, but still only a short 8-minute walk from Markt, I found it to be quite convenient. It's very close to Café Rose Red (which I highly recommend), and a short walk from Café Vlissinghe, which is another great spot.
The room didn't feel cramped at all, the bathroom was especially nice with a deep sink (enough space to fill my tall water bottle) and a full bathtub!!
I slept really well, due to a good bed that was quite firm and large, good pillows, and a nice quiet environment. Besides the church bells ringing briefly every 15 minutes, there was no other noise. The church bells themselves weren't too loud, they added charm to the setting and I found it to be quite helpful to remind me of the time.
Due to it being such a small hotel, it does have a few limitations:
* only a 2 hour window for breakfast (8-10am)
* no check-ins after 8pm, the front desk closes after that
* they only give you one key per room, so if more than one person is staying in a room and they want to do separate activities, they need to coordinate/leave the key at the front desk in case the other person returns first. This only works until 8pm when the front desk closes, if you want to do separate activities, there's no good way to get into the hotel if you don't have a key. read more
