During a surprise trip to sleepy, romantic and incredibly charming Bruges, I had no idea where we'd be staying. Originally, I had hoped for a very quaint b&b but when I saw the price tag, I left my BF with the choice. When we arrived to the Crowne Plaza Hotel and got out of our cab, I'm pleased to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
First, if you're going to Bruges, it's nice to be central to everything. You don't have to go far to find great restaurants, chocolate shops, bars and you're a short (I'm talking extremely brief) walk from the main square and the Basilica of the Holy Blood. The room was extremely well appointed, warm and comfortable. Whether we needed help and asked the the staff the same questions a thousand times (out of confusion of where things were and how one would actually get there) or needed the perfect place to pass out post one-too-many Belgian beers (so good!) and frites, Crowne Plaza was the perfect place. The service was attentive when we needed it, no one made any noise, nothing was out of place and everything was immaculately clean. We couldn't have asked for more for our stay and can't wait to go back and re-live one of our most memorable trips to date. read more
