Been to bishops a couple times now since it's so close to work. Super easy to schedule a appt online and has open slots all the time. Super cool and hip salon with lots of amazing art work. I wouldn't so much call it a barber shop but more of a salon based on the different things they do. Kidist has given me amazing men's haircuts for the past year. I was new to the WA area and was able to see her for a walk in, now I won't see anyone else. She takes time to listen to what I ask and pays fine attention to detail. Aside from her skills, she is an amazing person and creates a welcoming environment in her chair. Hairstylist that colored my hair very inexperienced. She just got out of school. The manager should have been there to assist her. My scalp has dots on it from the coloring. Look like a leopard. Hairstylist was very nice but she really needed help. It took her one hour and 15 minutes to just do a base color. Then left it on for 45 minutes. Should have been 35 minutes. Front desk girl was not at all customer service friendly. Plus she never answered the phone when it rang. All in all experience was not the best. read more

They charge you $250 if you don't show and they don't tell you ahead of time and there is nothing on their website that says $250 no show fee. Emergencies happen and I get you should call to cancel but sometimes things happen where you can't. They should at least have it on their website or have you signed something or tell you ahead of time there is a $250 no-show fee. read more

Do not use the word "guesswork" to describe the experience of working with her curls. Realize that if she is in your chair, she is not in a black space and she is probably nervous. Have respect enough for her to tell her that you are unsure, to give her the chance to opt out of your inexperience. Her hair is not your opportunity to experiment. My ten year old had had long hair for the last three years and decided this week he wanted a fluffy fringe haircut. He has the straightest hair ever and I was slightly worried the look he was going for was unachievable and told him that but was worried he would be disappointed. Enter Ezra and their understanding that the fluff was important to the overall happiness and experience. I had Gwendolen cut my hair for the first time and she did a great job. She asked lots of questions and I felt confident she listened to what I was looking for. I had a pixie cut, but it was pretty grown out and I was looking for some changes in the shaping, etc. I'm very happy with the results and glad I trusted her to try something new. The worst haircut I have had in my adult life! It is truly remarkable how someone that is employed as a hairstylist would let a customer walk out like this. Pyrah displayed zero skills in her chosen profession during my haircut. If I had sat down in her chair and said "Make it look like it was cut with a weed whacker." She'd have nailed it. I knew it was going poorly and tried to point out some problems with the layers not blending but her attempt to correct made it worse so I just said OK, got up and paid thinking "It can't be that bad. Just get home and style it yourself it will probably be OK." It was not. I was shocked as were my friends at my party the next night. It is shredded, layer look like steps and it so raggedly uneven. She never showed me the back and clearly didn't check her work at all. I tried to talk with the manager but she failed or refused to return my calls. I was super glad to see a new barbershop open up so close to where I'm living. Especially one that's so based in values of decency - they make a point of inclusivity and general stewardship. They routinely donate to causes both local and national and I appreciate the commitment to community. Everyone in this location has been nothing but friendly and professional, and the shop is clean and cool as can be. My experience inside the shop was pretty fantastic. I scheduled online and made the appointment for a bit later in the evening, an opportunity I appreciate so that I can get my hair cut after getting back from work without rushing to the appointment. I was super satisfied with the cut I received and had a lot of fun talking to Courtney throughout. I also appreciate the neutral nature of their services. You won't find mention of men's or women's services. Instead, services are defined only by the length of the cut (buzz, short, long) or the nature of the service (Color, style, treatment, etc). A nice touch that I would love to see at more local shops. I'll definitely be back to Bishops and recommend you check it out if you're looking for a good cut in a friendly, professional environment that will set you at ease. read more

I coulda used my 45$ to wipe my ass and it would've been put to better use there. Amanda and Taylor were nice and professional, more on the quiet side, but today I had Nicholas and have to say he went above and beyond. Super sweet, explaining and collaborating the entire way through my haircut. I'll be going to him from now on and am really happy to have found him! 06/09 was my appointment the day before my birthday and I had booked with Maddi since Taylor wasn't in that day (she's my regular stylist) I got a regular long cut with my layers cleaned up and it was the day before my birthday I was so excited to get my haircut with Maddi she was so sweet and accommodating to my schedule, and she went above and beyond during my appointment and gave me a styling for my birthday. She's funny, comforting, super laid back and such an extraordinary stylist and cutter! Absolutely love how my cut turned out I got so many compliments on my birthday because of her. We had four appointments with Bishops, for highlights, all over hair color and haircut. Got assisted by Amanda, Taylor, Brittney, and Mel!!! They are ALL amazing. Taylor did a great job giving me a layers haircut and all over haircolor. Amanda was great doing highlight/low light for my sister!! Brittany did a tremendous job on highlights on my niece (she LOVES it)!! And thanks for fitting in my mom on a short notice for haircolor!! Everyone is friendly.. sucha neat place and everyone knows what they're doing.. they will do a job how you like it!! Trust me, you'll leave this place happy!!!! Highly recommended. read more

The stylist was very nice but I paid $50 for a 15 minute haircut and wasn't offered a wash or blow dry. Very disappointed.

DO NOT GO HERE - Carrie is RUDE, condescending, has no customer service skills and cannot do a simple dead-end trim without throwing a a tantrum in front of the customer. I arrived to be treated very poorly due to the receptionist signing me up for a BANG TRIM when I specifically said over the phone multiple times: I have long hair, this is a dead-end trim. Carrie met me with an extremely impersonable demeanor, said I should have requested a full haircut (???) even though I didn't even sign up for the service myself. The receptionist signed me up for a bang trim. It is NOT appropriate to behave in the manner that Carrie did in front of a new customer. I will be recommending everyone go elsewhere and will be submitting one star reviews on every platform. read more

I came in with the hairstylists nightmare hair (black box dye for years). Brittany listened carefully to what I wanted and we came up with a plan to lighten my hair to an ashy lighter brown color during my free consultation. To start this process, she was able to give me a full head of highlights and make them super ashy to avoid the redness of lightening black hair. The only other option I have to lighten my hair is to go fully red and orange for my in-between color. I was terrified of having red-hot hair, but I walked away with ashy highlights and a good first step toward going light. It was a marathon, all-day coloring session but Brittany was awesome.
