It's been a while since I've gone to Bishop's- took my boyfriend for his first time this year! It's definitely a drive from Sacramento, but because it's on so much land I get it. We went on a Sunday so parking was free, which was nice. The parking lot was super full, but the property is so big we didn't feel the impact of the crowds too much except for waiting in line for food. We grabbed a turkey leg, Elote cup, hard cider, and apple cider float. The turkey and elote were steep price wise, and the turkey leg was the only thing that was worth it. Apple cider float was amazing! From the bakery, we split the 3/$23 cutie pie deal with friends and got an apple pie and a pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie wasn't great, but we loved the apple pie! It's a lot of fun but can also be a bit overwhelming- there's a ton to do and see. read more

Bishops Pumpkin Farm is an annual tradition. We go multiple times during the season. We go when it's free to park. It's always free to enter! And weekdays offer discounted tickets for attractions. There's a cute petting zoo where you can pet and feed the animals. There's a corn maze, train ride, huge new slide, hayride, you pick sunflowers and so much more. They have a huge selection of pumpkins, gourds and more. Theres food, deserts, apple slushies and caramel apples. Definitely something for all ages. Well worth a trip...or two! read more

We went on a weeknight and honestly... I don't think I can ever go back on a Saturday again. Free parking, barely any crowds, and not a single elbow to the ribs. Absolute heaven. We rented one of the fire pits (best idea ever), did the train ride, tried the new rides, grabbed cider, and of course -- a caramel apple which gently removed kiddo's tooth. Everything felt easy, relaxed, and actually enjoyable instead of the usual pumpkin-patch chaos. The only bummer? Now we're totally ruined. Such a perfect fall day trip! About 30-45 minutes from Sacramento, Bishop's Pumpkin Farm is way bigger than I expected -- there's literally something around every corner. Monday-Thursday has free entry and free parking, which is the move if you want to avoid the weekend crowd (weekends are free entry + $10 parking). There are tons of food options -- a bakery with cookies + milk buckets, a BBQ spot with sandwiches and burgers, pizza, and the Cider House where you have to try the cider slushy (even better as a float ). There's also a cute gift shop with farmhouse-style home goods and snacky treats. Activity-wise: Pumpkin Patch Sunflower & Corn Mazes Petting Zoo (donkey, pig, horses, peacocks, goats, turkeys + you can feed the goats grass in a little cone for ~$3) Pig races (weekends only) Carnival rides + a huge slide that adults and kids can both enjoy And you can even reserve private fire pits! Wonderful time, family friendly, and has everything we've been looking for in a spectacular Pumpkin patch - Bishop is THE place to be in the fall season! Biggest tip is to save yourself the pain - go early in the season otherwise be ready for tons and tons of crowds and their grandmothers to overcrowded this lovely pumpkin patch. We got wrist bands for our girls to try everything they could but even without having to pay for any rides and such, there are playgrounds and lots of fun activities for kids to enjoy for free! We went early enough in the season that we didn't have to pay for any entrance/parking fees. Oh and their parking staff did a tremendous job in directing traffic to open spaces - its the small things like this that matter so much! Sure, there's traffic to get there, but it's worth it. Food is fantastic with a wide selection, available activities for kids are vast and tremendous (slides, playgrounds, an epic tree house, farm animals, pony rides, corn maze for kids, corn maze for teens and adults, etc.), plenty of tables and seating spaces, and even some firepits to enjoy as the evening approaches! Can't recommend this pumpkin patch enough! Be ready to spend the entire day here and let your kids run wild as this place felt safe, comfortable (at least in the early season), and truly family friendly. Have pets? This is a great family friendly pumpkin patch! So many things to do, especially for kids. My 4-year old daughter had a great time. We spent six hours here on a weekday and she probably would have stayed longer if we didn't have to go home. They have rides that kids who are 42" and taller can ride independently, petting zoo, various slides and playgrounds, train ride, corn maze, sunflower garden, gift shops, pumpkin patches and tractor ride, marble mining, savory and sweet foods, face painting, sweet drinks, and hard cider. I believe there's pig races too on weekends, and fireworks and movie nights with fire pits on Fridays. There were a lot of shaded areas throughout the farm, which was great since it was high 80s when we went and I have a 3-month old son. I highly recommend coming on a weekday if you are going in October. We went on Tues October 7th from 1-7pm and it was a decent crowd, but the rides for lines weren't long. I can only imagine how crowded this place would be on weekends. Also the parking is free on weekdays and the unlimited ride wristbands might be cheaper too on weekdays. I have a few suggestions: ensure you have enough firewood for the entire 4 hours, especially considering the price we paid, man the entrance, and maybe add some fence lights. Finally decided to stop by with the kiddos on Saturday morning, and I'm so glad we came early! We got there around 10:30am and it was busy but manageable. By the time we left around 2:30pm, it was packed. Parking is $20, so bring some cash, and wear comfy shoes since you'll be walking through dusty or muddy areas. Our first stop was Mrs. B's Bakery, and surprisingly there wasn't a line! I tried the pumpkin pie cake cup and it was delicious, creamy, flavorful, and worth the $6. The kids loved the playground and the little zoo area with goats, cows, pigs, and chickens. Feeding the goats (3 tickets) was their favorite part. I appreciated the hand washing stations nearby, though they really need more restrooms since the women's line was always so long. We rode the train, which had a long wait but was fun to see the pumpkins and animals along the way. The apple cider float was incredible, definitely worth the hype!! We come here every year (for the past 5 years) as part of our annual family tradition. We arrive early to allow the kids to explore all the attractions and then we later get a fire pit to watch one of the night time movies. This is our favorite pumpkin patch for a few reasons, it's clean, so many attractions for kids, so many different food and drink options, free parking and tons of pumpkins. It's like a mini Disneyland. And the staff, they're all pretty young but so poised and very pleasant. Every staff member we seen always greeted us and wished us a great day and so very polite. You can tell that who ever does the hiring must really reiterate customer service. I'm impressed. The only tip is that if you plan to book a fire pit, to have a few people try to help you snag one. They sell out fast. We usually have about 5 people all online once they're released to get a fire pit. There's been talks about doing a lottery system for a fire pit which I hope they don't do. This is a great spot for dates or families because they have several play areas, rides, and other attractions. Went on a Saturday where it was super busy and the parking lot was full. They ran out of a lot of items and the food lines were very long because of the demand. I was very hesitant after hearing about the crowds and parking struggle, but our visit was very manageable and low maintenance. There is a lot of foot traffic, but find that their website and paper maps provide a lot of information to help you create a plan for your visit! We prioritized trying their Cider Slushakie, feeding some animals at the petting zoo, and getting a few pumpkins. We ended up having time to squeeze in a fun ride on their new grain slide!! Had our two year olds first field trip today with our mom group and it was a blast! I haven't been to bishops since I was a kid and it's been three decades since then! It was fabulous! I can't describe the changes and how beautiful the landscaping is! It's all very easy to walk which was great for our two year old! The process to get tickets for the attractions was simple and the food was great! We loved the carousel and the train how fun to let our two year old experience the world today and have such a great experience! Visit the pumpkin patch, ride a train, go down a giant slide, watch a pig race, watch a movie outdoors, etc. They have many different food options as well. Honestly, I had better hopes for Bishop's Farm. Social media definitely made it look way more fun and welcoming than it actually was. When I got there, it just felt kind of underwhelming and not as inviting as I expected. The vibes were off -- not rude, but not really friendly either. The place itself is cute and has potential, but the overall experience just didn't match the hype. Everything looked better in pictures, and I left feeling a little disappointed. I wish it felt more lively and organized because it could've been a great fall outing, but it just fell short for me. They have rides and assortment of food but I felt like everything just looked so basic like there's other pumpkin farms that are better. Def think Spina in Morgan hill and Dell'Osso Family Farms is way better I feel like I'm at an actual pumpkin patch there. Bishop's Pumpkin Farm is a great family friendly place with tons of options for fun! My husband, 2 year old and our friends visited on a Saturday at 1pm. Parking was $20 but there was plenty of parking space. There are great photo opportunity's throughout the farm including right in front of their Bishops Pumpkin Farm welcome sign. We had a pizza for food, cider for the adults & for dessert we had a tall soft serve since it was a nice but slightly warm day. The place only got more and more busier as the day went on. Lines get very long & the wait time for bathrooms, the slide ride, or airplane rides was very long. I would suggest getting there early to avoid the crowds! Overall we were able to visit the Pet farm, walk through the corn maze and cut sunflowers. The adults and kids had fun. I look forward to coming back next year! read more

There's lots to do and see here too- petting zoo, rides, food, lots of pumpkin patches to walk around. I've never been on a weekend because I think they charge for parking some days but we always just go when it's free/ on a weekday and we love it. Solid pumpkin patch. 45 min away from Sacramento. I personally think it's worth the drive out for more activities and great pies. I can't speak on the rides and activities since I never came with kids. Pumpkins are by the lbs. I usually just buy from Trader Joe's. What I do come here for are their floats, pies and honey! Apple/juice isn't as sweet as apple Hill and goes bad within 2 days, just FYI. Love their rotating pies and my husband loves their apple pies. I would love to come back with the kids and towards night time for fire pits and movies. Bring cash in case they charge for parking usually during busy wknds. I've been to bishops so many times throughout the years! I just had to do a review because my nieces and nephew loved the new addition THR SLIDE!! We went on it 3 time! This is a great family fun day for all! My only advice is that it does get pretty expensive so bring your own food and snacks so you can spend money on rides and desserts instead lol! They have a few selections of food vendors around like taco pizza and gyros. There's always staff walking around to help guide you. We had a BAD EXPERIENCE in the petting zoo area today. There was a long horned cow who had hurt itself on a fence this am according to one of the attendants, after I asked what was wrong with their cow (around noon then, so cow had been down a while). Its head was stuck flipped upside down, and it couldn't move at all except to breathe. HEARTBREAKING. When I tried to get some attention for the cow, I was first told ,"the cow is fine, someone just checked on it." B.S. the cow was NOT ok. Anyhow- long story short even after using the radio to call for help a few times, the cow remained flat, no one came who could do anything. Pretty terrible to let a cow suffer like this without calling a vet or having an animal caretaker on staff full time (I was told they don't.) I was there 20 minutes, nothing happened. We enjoy coming to Bishops every year, but I don't think I can come again after this happened. Bottom line- there ABSOLUTELY should be help on staff for the animals or there SHOULDN'T BE ANIMALS ON THE FARM! read more

This might be the best pumpkin patch I've ever visited. We came by on Nov 1st and there were zero lines, so we did all the things like the tractor ride, honeypot ride, explored a corn maze, and rode on a train that goes all over the pumpkin patch. The food was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed my crispy chicken sandwich, the garlic fries, and the spiced cider donuts were delicious! There was one line which never slowed down and that was for the fresh baked goods and pies. We didn't wait, and I'm glad we didn't, because we found that most of the baked goods sold there, can also be purchased at the main checkout area near the pumpkin patch exit. Pro Pumpkin Tip: To avoid pumpkin waste, for a flat rate of $25, you can get as many pumpkins as you can fit into one of their wheelbarrows. We walked out of there with 16 pumpkins with room to spare in our wheel barrow. We bought two huge orange ones and bunch of stackable fairy tale pumpkins. The large pumpkins alone were normally $45. A great deal if you plan on decorating your house for the fall. My kids had a blast here and if there's still time left in the season I highly encourage you bring the fam and visit! read more

By far, the BEST pumpkin patch around! We come every year and it's exciting to see what/if they've added. You have your pumpkin patch along with so many rides/attractions! Along with all that, you have your bake shop, food including BBQ and your typical concession goodies. They even have a wine/beer garden for the 21+ kids. You do need to get a wrist band if you choose to walk around outside of the beer/wine area. We recently came for the fire pit which you need to reserve because it fills up quick. For $250, you get four hours of fire complete with an attendant and S'Mores kit complete with sticks, and 3 parking passes. We were surprised to see how many people were here after dark. There are a ton of activities compared to other pumpkin patches in Sacramento, such as a corn maze, multiple ride attractions, and lots of food options. There's something for everyone here. Admission is free but be prepared to pay $20 for parking on weekends. It was extremely crowded on a Saturday afternoon so I'd recommend going on a weekday if possible! This is the first time I have been here. We have been going to Apple Hill for 25+ years. So I was excited to try this location. Hands down a better place for the little ones with so many options for activities close together and no need to drive to a different farm. We took the grandkids today and it did not disappoint. We did most of the activities such as the pony rides, carousel, train ride, marble hunting and slides. We also had lunch and apple cider slushies and apple cider donuts. Lunch was pretty good. The slushies with ice cream were delicious. Price point for a meal is around $13-19 - we got the tritip sandwich and fries and chicken tenders and garlic fries. It was busy since there were a few school field trip groups but lines were not too long of a wait for rides. Food took a little longer since it was a Thursday they didn't have all the lanes open. They have a lot of options for picking up pumpkins to take home and several little shops with gifts, a bakery, cookie shop and sweets shop. This year, we got wristbands for $27.99 each, and it was totally worth it - the kids went on the rides at least three times and loved the slides and playgrounds. We were a little bummed they ran out of pizza, and the pizza place was closed, but we still enjoyed some chicken strips, garlic fries, nachos, and a brisket sandwich. The weather was perfect, and it was way less crowded than on weekends, so going on a weekday was definitely a good choice. Highly recommend for a family-friendly day out! They did but some kinda of confusion. They had a new large slide. That was a great surprise especially with that self load tubes. The kids still had fun on the train ride and carousel and spinning pumpkins. The smoke was a little overwhelming but you can't control smoke. We would come back yes. Value was great. Came here on a Friday in September. Prices were reasonable, especially for the all day wristband. The apple cider float is amazing. The apples tasted really fresh. I also got an apple pie to take home which was also delicious. I wanted to try the cinnamon rolls but they were sold out. They have mini pig races which was my favorite part. They were so cute, especially the one named Strawberry. I did the 7 acre corn maze as well and the map that they gave didn't really help because kids are running through the maze and tearing the corn down, not even doing the maze properly. I also didn't like how small the petting zoo was. I was under the impression there would be many animals you can pet but it's only goats. To feed them is also $3 extra and the feed runs out very quickly. I also did the train ride which was enjoyable but short. Overall a good experience despite the negatives.
