Might I suggest grabbing a cart as you start and completely optional, go inside and grab a small bag of free popcorn so you can take your time looking and not get hungry. Located in Auburn, Green Acres/ Eisley's has knowledgeable employee if you ever have any questions. I have personally taken a picture of a house plant I was gifted and they were able to help me with its care and it is taking off like crazy now. Key word I was given... patience! My last couple visits, I was looking for some tomato, jalapeno, onion, and zucchini plants for my garden (I love zucchini, but I specifically have a bloody mary/ salsa garden). Also, some herbs for my cute little herb garden. The prices here are hard to beat! I went outside for my starts, which were under $4! I also picked up some thyme, rosemary, oregano, dill, cilantro, and chives all at great prices! Don't stop there. This nursery is HUGE! I was also looking for flowers that will attract bees. My tip is to watch which ones one bees are going to. Of course, they absolutely love all the flowers here, but I get the ones I see the most bees on. Now pay attention! Here's another tip! The plants that are in full sun, you should plant in full sun. The ones in shade, those you should plant in a shady area. There are trees and bushes available of so many kinds that are also either in full sun or partial shade, full shade... so pick the one that well be right for the spot you are trying to fill at home. There are planters and pots of so many sizes and made up of different materials with so many patterns available. The indoor house plants are my favorite. Can you guys guess how many indoor plants I have at home since I am a plant lover? Just inside, I have 19 plants (and counting)... so yes I am a plant lover!! If you have any questions, anyone working here is happy to help. They do offer returns, but not on vegetable plants or 1 quart potted plants. You must have your receipt (you can look up their return policy online). This nursery will put the motivation back in your attitude with just one visit. One of the things I really don't like is there's no women there's just a bunch of old guys and they're all the same and they can't multitask and even though they're very sweet and they think they're giving good customer service they really are not. I called one time and asked for native plant and the guy erroneously told me that they don't sell native plants because California won't allow them to because California is afraid that people are going to dig up plants in the forest which was just ridiculous. I never write bad reviews. I've been in here so many times and I always disappointed.

Craig was kind enough to give us an impromptu front yard tour, he shared his opinion on screening bamboo types and explained some other helpful info. It's $10 a gallon for plants, so a typical 5 gallon pot is $50. Pretty pricey. Connecting road is dangerous, blind curve and speedy drivers. Be careful doing a 3 point to turn around, and make sure to exit off the driveway FACING the road.

One nice tip, they are acclimated to the foothill weather temperatures. Wear comfortable shoes when you go. The plants are spread over about an acre of land and the ground is very uneven. Good thing we were not in a hurry! We took our time wandering about and ejoying the beauty of the plants and the peaceful atmosphere. It was lovely to see the many subtle variations. Craig, the owner, was happy to answer any, and all, questions regarding bamboo care and maintenance. He is very knowledgeable and was so patient with our attempts to select plants! We were very happy with the prices and took home a couple more than we had planned to buy, cause the plants were so reasonably priced. I will make a point of stopping by Bamboo Mountain again, on my next Nevada County visit.

I tried the mandarin sour this past weekend and it was really good. I'm definitely eyeing the watermelon beer slushie for my next visit! They have plenty of outdoor seating and a nice-sized indoor area. While they offer food, we didn't get a chance to try it this time, but we'll definitely give it a shot next time. They also host a farmers market and a pumpkin farm, which weren't open yet during our Saturday visit, but we can't wait to check them out when they start. We worked with Molly of Dinner Bell Farm for our July, 2016 wedding and could not have been…read morehappier! She had been recommended to us by a friend who had also worked with her for her wedding. Pros: -For our ceremony in the redwoods we didn't need any flowers to make the place beautiful, but we did ask for a chuppah (for the groom's Jewish culture) adorned with batik cloth and jasmine flowers (for the bride's Indonesian culture). The chuppah was made out of beautiful wood, and even though the specific species of Jasmine flowers used in Indonesian weddings was not available, Molly came through with a local flower that looked almost the same. -We both love succulents and wanted to have them be the floral look of our wedding and reception. The bouquets, corsages, and bride's hairpiece were creatively made out of succulents and all looked gorgeous -For the reception, we wanted the tables to have potted succulent arrangements as centerpieces. Molly delivered, big time! Each succulent display was different and beautiful in its own way. -The mother of the groom was very involved in the preparation of the centerpieces, acquiring and hand-painting seventeen pots for the arrangements. She and Molly worked VERY well together in making this happen. -Great value compared to some of the other florists we considered Cons: -None All in all we were very satisfied with Molly and recommend her highly! Review from my mother in law : Working with Molly was a total joy. I live across the country from her, and we communicated by phone, text or email in regards to the flowers for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. She ended up custom-growing plants for specific containers that I mailed to her. Those centerpieces, in addition to the bridal bouquets and a custom-designed outdoor chuppah ended up making a lasting visual statement! She is a superb listener and a beautiful artist. As an artist myself, I can totally endorse Molly to get the job done in a memorable way!
