After some time with the menu, and pitchers of water having been delivered to the table, the server came to take our orders, food and drinks together. The appetizers were delivered before most of the drinks, with one guest not receiving their appetizer until the mains were being delivered. The server had a bit of a hard time remembering who had what, but with some direction, everything was delivered eventually. The food was nice. We had the Lahori fried fish, nicely spiced, fish cooked really well. My partner and I shared the Combo 2 with white meat chicken kahari, beef kebab, and garlic naan. The chicken was cooked very well. The curry paste was tasty. The kahari was served in a large metal bowl, very nice touch. I really enjoyed the kebab as well. The naan was factory made, not fresh. That was a bit disappointing. My fraise rose was delicious. My partner had a mango lassi and said it was acceptable but a bit too thick. The meal had a good spice level throughout. The portions are generous and very filling. Good value for money, however the menu does not make it clear that most dishes seem to be intended for sharing. At the end of the meal, it took some time for dessert to come out (included with the meal), and it seems only some people were asked if they wanted tea or coffee, our side of the table was not. Towards the end, the server simply stood at the other end of the table and asked, generally, if anyone wants anything else. The service might have been better on a busier day, but at 1pm on a Sunday, it was lacking a bit, and we felt a little bit like an inconvenience, even though we were the only people there. We would go back, just maybe for an evening date.

I went with her to this awful restaurant "MAMA KHAN". We were visiting Montreal. Originally we are from Boston, MA USA. First and foremost, I'm not sure it is a Pakistani restaurant or it it is run by Afghani people. The first order was Samosa. It was burnt outside cooked in high heat, so when we opened it one layer of Maida was raw inside. The potato inside was black and had a weird taste. We were hungry so we hate the outside part of the Dough, although burnt. Second order was lassi- it smelled something awful. I drank one gulp and didn't touch it again. The third order was chicken haleem but it appeared to me the chef forgot to put the chicken- it tasted like dal and wheat. Although it was not that bad. I ate it as if I'm eating dal. The third order was lamb charsi Karahi. I could not eat even one piece. It was not cooked at all. I packed the lamb as by now I had lost faith and didn't want to leave the entire untouched dish. I thought these guys may serve my left on table dish to someone else. We took the left over food and put it in a trash. The Nan was not bad except one fourth of the naan was not properly cooked, so we discarded that portion and ate the rest of the naan with the "DAL HALEEM" Service- the kid was from Afghanistan and was decent. He was polite.

We ordered the Samosa Chaat to share as starters which was plenty and probably the best we have had in Montreal. For our mains, we had the Lamb Karahi (the most popular dish as mentioned by the waitress) and Chicken Jalfrezi. The chicken jalfrezi was delicious and a good portion. However, having tried many a Lamb Karahi, I was not impressed with the quality of the meat and the taste. The pieces of lamb were large and mainly fat/bones - not what you would expect of a traditional lamb karahi. On the plus side, the Naan bread was perfect and always came fresh and hot so that was great. Prices are reasonable and the location is quite convenient (there is some parking directly in front of the restaurant). Overall, good experience and will most probably return but will not be ordering the Lamb Karahi this time.

We ordered 1/2 Kg Mutton Karahi, 1/2 Kg Chicken Karahi, Palak Paneer, Chicken Seekh Kebab, Fish Pakoras and Chai. Oddly enough for something that is their most popular item, the Mutton Karahi was average. It was mostly bones and almost no meat, definitely not half a kg and tasted alright. The Palak Paneer and Chicken Seekh Kebab were 100% reheated and tasted like food that had gone bad. The Chicken Karahi was excellent. Tasted fresh, flavourful and authentic. Fish pakoras were good and fresh. Tea was authentic Chai. The server was chirpy and very helpful. She was interactive and her excitement was contagious. Part of the reason this rating is three stars and not two is because of her! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. However for a place where the food is so Hit or Miss, I would not recommend it to others.

They're open till 11pm most days which I didn't even know. I had the samosa chaat, and the butter chicken thali so far. Both were delicious and filling. I will say the butter chicken wasn't the best even though it did hit the spot. I much prefer their samosas, chickpea mix, and lentil mix. Their naan bread is also just ok. For the price though, you can't beat it. Service is also incredibly fast and friendly. They accept debit now which helps a lot since I never carry cash.

I had called in this lunch order when the restaurant opened for the day and the chicken biryani they gave was a few days old and sitting outside, definitely not fresh. By the time I took it home and consumed it, it was smelling and tasting funny. My family was sick from eating this biryani and everyone was using the bathroom for the next two days from food poisoning. We didn't even finish it and I threw it all out. It was disgusting and one of the worst food experiences I've had. I truly would NOT RECOMMEND anyone eat food from this restaurant because they clearly will give their customers old food. It's very disrespectful and deceitful to give customers food that is old and has spoiled. My advice to anyone considering eating here: SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Unfortunately, this time I was disappointed. I got my family too hyped up about the food. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but the service was super slow. Our orders were taken by two different waiters. So it was annoying, but both them were amiable, so I cannot be super angry at them. We ordered almost a buffet on our table. Mango lassi, Pakota (Pakistani cream soda(too sweet)), Chana Masala (chickpeas curry), mutter paneer (peas/cheese), butter chicken, Biryani Rice, grilled tilapia, and naan bread. The only meals that were good, were grilled tilapia and Chana Masala. Butter chicken was cold, so we asked them to warm it again. Mutter paneer were over cooked, tasted super bland; which we notified and we just got a sorry. Naans were super dry. In the end, what made us happy was Masala Chai with nice warm gulab jamun. In the end, when we asked for our bill; our waiter kept telling us that our bill isn't ready(language barrier?, how can you not make bill ready); we waited for our bill about 20 minutes. I felt leaving the place right way. My first experience was so good, but my second experience is completely the opposite, and I don't think I want to come back for a third experience.
