This restaurant is absolutely disgusting! I was in complete awe when I witnessed what I had seen in my plate. A mistake like this isn't even made by rookie cooks or chefs only a complete moron who has no regards for human health especially when there is a god damn virus going around can do this. My plate of chicken biriyani was practically poisoned by this incompetent cook of your restaurant. He put raw chicken, not cooked chicken which was under cooked but an actual piece of chicken which he picked up from where ever he marinated the chicken and completely forgot the cooking step. Close your restaurant or hire new cooks who actually do their jobs, unbelievable. I will no longer come to this restaurant or your grocery ever again! Enjoy the disgusting chicken I posted for all the customers to see :)

I absolutely Love Dera me being a meat eater I always subconciously judge an Indian restaurant by their lamb biryani. Dera always seems to have a good consistency for lamb biryanis, with the good recipe for the biryani and the meat staying always tender so you can smell the curry from the rice. I also highly reccomend their brain masala, butter chicken and beef jalfrezi. A big highlight is their rice milk pudding which is perfectly made, extremely creamy with nuts and just a little tiny hint of rosewater. They have a big room for guests and the location not that hard to get around to at all. However, the Staff is a little all over the place. They are all girls serving in trolley trays, but most can decently communicate in english and french. Over all a great place for good Pakistani food.

Dera has a great location on St Denis Street. The food was pretty good, I ordered the beef and chicken kabob, rice, naan, and a yogurt drink. The service was quite slow though, which was unfortunate. My friends food came out much sooner than mine, and when mine did come it was not all at once. I hate to give them a 2 star, because I wad really looking foward to the experience, but the service just wasn't there for me on this experience.

This was the meat I got

PLEASE DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY I ordered lam biryani, taste was ok, it had no meat in it & whatever meat I did get was nothing but bones and pure fat! I was very disappointed, portion was very little after finishing I was still hungry If you don't believe me check it out your self, if you order any dish with meat, simply check how much meat you get?! You'd know what I am talking about Hope this helps

This place merits a four star only and only when you're craving for enormous portions of cheap chicken biryani.

Quite un-professional. Did not do a good job of separating checks or explaining their menu. Food is fine.

Karahi Point - Butter Chicken Poutine - are you KIDDING me??!! Chicken was SO tender and delicious - SO GOOD!!!

We came to Kahari Point for a friend's birthday party. The spouse of our friend had made…read morereservations over a week in advance, but the restaurant had no record of it, but since the dining room was empty, they were able to accommodate the ten of us. After some time with the menu, and pitchers of water having been delivered to the table, the server came to take our orders, food and drinks together. The appetizers were delivered before most of the drinks, with one guest not receiving their appetizer until the mains were being delivered. The server had a bit of a hard time remembering who had what, but with some direction, everything was delivered eventually. The food was nice. We had the Lahori fried fish, nicely spiced, fish cooked really well. My partner and I shared the Combo 2 with white meat chicken kahari, beef kebab, and garlic naan. The chicken was cooked very well. The curry paste was tasty. The kahari was served in a large metal bowl, very nice touch. I really enjoyed the kebab as well. The naan was factory made, not fresh. That was a bit disappointing. My fraise rose was delicious. My partner had a mango lassi and said it was acceptable but a bit too thick. The meal had a good spice level throughout. The portions are generous and very filling. Good value for money, however the menu does not make it clear that most dishes seem to be intended for sharing. At the end of the meal, it took some time for dessert to come out (included with the meal), and it seems only some people were asked if they wanted tea or coffee, our side of the table was not. Towards the end, the server simply stood at the other end of the table and asked, generally, if anyone wants anything else. The service might have been better on a busier day, but at 1pm on a Sunday, it was lacking a bit, and we felt a little bit like an inconvenience, even though we were the only people there. We would go back, just maybe for an evening date.

We ordered three appetizers, naan, and one main course. The items came out quickly and hot, and the waitstaff checked with us when each item came out to make sure we liked it. The interior is clean…read moreand minimal with a lovely raised intimate cushion-seating area on the side (great for groups). We ordered the Samosa Chaat to share as starters which was plenty and probably the best we have had in Montreal. For our mains, we had the Lamb Karahi (the most popular dish as mentioned by the waitress) and Chicken Jalfrezi. The chicken jalfrezi was delicious and a good portion. However, having tried many a Lamb Karahi, I was not impressed with the quality of the meat and the taste. The pieces of lamb were large and mainly fat/bones - not what you would expect of a traditional lamb karahi. On the plus side, the Naan bread was perfect and always came fresh and hot so that was great. Prices are reasonable and the location is quite convenient (there is some parking directly in front of the restaurant). Overall, good experience and will most probably return but will not be ordering the Lamb Karahi this time.

We came all the way here from Plateau (an hour long journey) to have their famous Mutton Karahi…read more We were four Pakistanis and were excited for some authentic Pakistani food. We ordered 1/2 Kg Mutton Karahi, 1/2 Kg Chicken Karahi, Palak Paneer, Chicken Seekh Kebab, Fish Pakoras and Chai. Oddly enough for something that is their most popular item, the Mutton Karahi was average. It was mostly bones and almost no meat, definitely not half a kg and tasted alright. The Palak Paneer and Chicken Seekh Kebab were 100% reheated and tasted like food that had gone bad. The Chicken Karahi was excellent. Tasted fresh, flavourful and authentic. Fish pakoras were good and fresh. Tea was authentic Chai. The server was chirpy and very helpful. She was interactive and her excitement was contagious. Part of the reason this rating is three stars and not two is because of her! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. However for a place where the food is so Hit or Miss, I would not recommend it to others.

This will be my 2nd outing to this restaurant. I was really excited for my family to try the food…read moresince I enjoyed every single dish thoroughly the last time. Unfortunately, this time I was disappointed. I got my family too hyped up about the food. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but the service was super slow. Our orders were taken by two different waiters. So it was annoying, but both them were amiable, so I cannot be super angry at them. We ordered almost a buffet on our table. Mango lassi, Pakota (Pakistani cream soda(too sweet)), Chana Masala (chickpeas curry), mutter paneer (peas/cheese), butter chicken, Biryani Rice, grilled tilapia, and naan bread. The only meals that were good, were grilled tilapia and Chana Masala. Butter chicken was cold, so we asked them to warm it again. Mutter paneer were over cooked, tasted super bland; which we notified and we just got a sorry. Naans were super dry. In the end, what made us happy was Masala Chai with nice warm gulab jamun. In the end, when we asked for our bill; our waiter kept telling us that our bill isn't ready(language barrier?, how can you not make bill ready); we waited for our bill about 20 minutes. I felt leaving the place right way. My first experience was so good, but my second experience is completely the opposite, and I don't think I want to come back for a third experience.
