The best ice cream around! The corn dog is my favorite food item on the menu a little pricey but they're the best in the area. Only giving 4 stars because my corn dog was not cooked all the way through and it took about 15 minutes to get a new one when there was no one around. I've had many other great experiences here, must have just been an off day. read more

Who'd a thunk it? My sweetie and I were staying at Patoka Lake offseason and the dining opportunities are few and far between in this area. We found the Dairy Barn in a nav system search and decided to get pizza. We were not disappointed! Delicious crust and sauce with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. We're definitely going to eat here on future trips, and we'll have to get ice cream next time too! read more

You're not a proper Indiana small town without a good ice cream joint. Dairy Barn serves delicious soft serve. Their Blizzar...err...Avalanches are tasty, though you don't get a huge selection of mixins. And if you want to spoil your dessert by eating dinner they've got pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs...and of course (since this is southern Indiana) pork tenderloin. read more

Ah memories. OK, so I probably have a bit of nostalgia for this place, which *might* influence my review. I grew up in the area - about 20-30 minutes away actually. That never stopped us from deciding on a whim to get in the car and drive out to Dairy Barn for ice cream. This place can be PACKED on a summer evening. Dad would drive us out there after band practice, despite the fact we lived 5 minutes from the practice field and this place was 20 minutes in the wrong direction. Their ice cream is soft serve from a machine. Their cones are HUGE. Not the cones, the height of the ice cream! Watch out how big of a cone you order in the summer, because it will quickly become elbow-licking ice cream. They also have a variety of sundaes and a banana split in a big cup, called a garbage can. Awesome. They have food, too! The pizza is particularly good, and made to order to boot. I live in Dallas now, but always find time to wander over to Birdseye for a visit to the Dairy Barn when I'm home. read more

Used to live in the area, every time we come back to Indiana we have to go here several times before we leave town. I think everybody in the county goes up here for ice cream. It,s good, and you get a ton of ice cream. Don't make the mistake and order a large cone..it's about a foot tall, on a warm summer day, it will melt before you can eat it all. Serve sandwiches and pizza, which are good. They are always busy and usually a line to wait in. Last time we were there, an overwhelmed teenage worked yelled to another worker, "call Grandma we need help!" Grandma showed up, and everything was ok. Outside dining only. read more

We really enjoyed going to this dairy barn for a sweet treat. I would love to go back and enjoy some of the other items they offer. The ice cream was really good and worth going to just for that. There was a line which I was surprised by but I guess that is common. For sure a try if you are in the area. read more

The ice cream is always good. There is no place to visit like the Birdseye Dairy Barn. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our area. I like the Stromboli's as well and the pizza but I think the food prices are too costly. read more
