By far every other mover I contacted provided a quote that was twice as much. I was moving from a 1 bedroom, 750 sf apartment to another 2 bedroom 800 sf apartment less than 1 mile away. Each of the other moving companies quoted me $700+ to make this move. I've moved similarly before and knew it should not be this much. Dakydes quoted me $500 and I had heard from a friend to use them. They arrived on time and had me moved in 2 hours for a total cost of $250!! They did scratch one item and showed me immediately. It was an item not of importance, so not a big deal. It's great to know that they owned up to it and didn't try to hide that they had scratched something. The second time I used them, they showed up late. I somewhat feel this is to be expected with movers, but wanted to share. This move required picking up at a storage unit, then driving 15 minutes to the second location and pickup there, with a final stop another mile away. With all of these stops and driving distances they were still able to complete the move within 4 hours. They were very courteous and always made a point to show me any issues with furniture before packing so I was aware they hadn't damaged anything. Although this was 3 locations as opposed to 2, the cost was still only $500. I highly recommend Dakydes. They are all around friendly, courteous, and efficient. They also remembered me between my 2 moves, which was a plus.

He said he could. We confirmed the time. He did not ask for a deposit. All good I thought. Sunday rolls around and I text him at 1pm asking him to confirm the move in at 3pm. Silence. Sunday at 3pm rolls around. He's nowhere to be seen. I call at 3:15pm. No Answer. I call at 4pm no answer. I've been ghosted with a truck full of boxes with no help available. He calls back at 4:30pm. He says he can't make it that he sent his crew out. he then says that he can't do today. Then, he says that we never confirmed (lie). Then he said I never sent a deposit (he didn't request). Then he said, "why do you need to be aggressive here?" Well, I'm angry because i've a truck full of boxes, no help, i need to get the truck back and I need to work the next day. End result - I unloaded the truck by myself. And, hence, this 1-star review.

So I clarified my requirements and offered FaceTime/Skype appointments to provide visibility to the move. Royalty upped its original quote of $800 to $1,000 then $1,200 and said that he wanted a chance to see the beach and that he just bought his truck and was wanting to utilize it as much as possible. I bought his line and wanted to hire him. ... he wasn't the cheapest but I bought his 5 kids and new truck story .... And it is all a story Tony Douglas is the owner of Royalty Moves if that is truly a viable entity. Tony is right no matter how wrong the situation is. Or how wrong he has done you!! I should have acknowledged that my $600 deposit was a lost cause when 3 days after me sending him the money ( 50% of the quoted job) , he wrote to say that he needed another truck and the job would now be $2,000- not the agreed $1,200. When I told him, that he lost the job, he told me that he had a " no cancellation policy" and would not return my deposit of $600. Tony said he was just trying to do "right by me" and that he needed a second truck. He agreed to physically come to my house, which he did and acknowledged that his 1 truck would be sufficient. With 3 weeks before the move, it looked like this initial hiccup had been resolved The day before the move, I texted Tony to make sure we were all set for 7:00 am the next morning. 3 hours later he texted me back -"all set, but do you have blankets?" Okay.... The story goes from bad to awful from here Tony says his truck broke down and his blankets were in the truck, but no worries, he'd rent the truck and blankets and we were still on for 7:00 am the next morning. A few more texts from me, explaining that we had a lot of dominoes in play on the move starting on time, and Tony reassuring me that he was all set. I also started to get the feeling that Tony's truck wasn't just broken down, but impounded. The next morning, we woke up at 5:00 am , checked my phone and read a text from Tony- sent at 10:04 Pm - "Can you guys grab the truck for me in the morning and we start the job at like 9 I'm having a problem reserving the truck it has my number flagged connected to another customer I think this is the quickest fix for me to get you to get the truck first thing in the morning and we get the job done ". When we didn't reply because we were sleeping, he wrote: "Let me know first thing so we can get it squared away I DO NOT NEED TO CANCEL THE JOB I JUST NEED FOR YOU TO PICK YHE TRUCK UP YOU RENT A TRUCK AND WE CAN START THE JOB AROUND 9:00?" I called Tony once I read the texts in the morning and the saga became a fiasco. We asked for our money back, he said he didn't have a cancellation policy and that he'd find a way to get a truck. He ignored my calls and texts for a few more hours. Said we were just too much of a problem and stress and that by afternoon he could send our deposit back possibly but that he didn't have a cancellation policy. We actually did rent a truck from uhaul but Tony had been blacklisted and he couldn't be a registered driver on the truck So we said we couldn't proceed and he said -" so you're cancelling? " Tony told me I was bad blood and a nasty person and he had done everything possible to make the situation work. Tony is delusional in his perspective on reality. Beware of him It has taken me a few weeks post this encounter to calmly write this review. He was exhaustingly warped in his spin of reality. Then a mover of his didn't show up, another one didn't have a drivers license, and then Uhaul sold the truck out from under him because of lack of planning on their part. Lewis gave up trying to help and stopped returning calls. I would stay very, very, clear of this group as they are not reliable and we ended up getting our own truck. What's even funnier, Lewis couldn't find another truck to rent, but we did in less than 5 minutes. Don't bother with them.

I was moving and hired this company through U-Haul; seeing they were the cheapest option, I figured they could at least help us move our large furniture onto a truck. I booked them, and the company contacted me over the weekend, confirming they could help us move on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. Come Monday morning, 10:30, no one arrived. There was no contact from them regarding lateness nor confirming again they were on the way. I was fairly patient and expected things not to be perfect, so I texted at 10:36 asking when they would be coming. Not until 11:00 (30 minutes after the time they confirmed they would help us) did I receive a text back saying they were finishing up a move and would come after. At 11:01, I asked for a rough time estimate of when that would be. It took until 12:00 for them to text me that they would be arriving at 12:30. Come 12:30, no one showed up, and no one contacted me to say they were on the way. I called the number again at 12:50, and the man on the phone was surprised when I told him no one had shown up. He said he would call me back. 15 minutes went by with no calls. I called his number again but this time he did not pick up. At 1:10, nearly 3 hours after the confirmed moving time, when we had moved nearly all our belongings down to the truck ourselves, we finally received a call from the movers Legacy sent saying they were parked a block away. The two movers who showed up were great. They worked fast, getting the last of the furniture, and were kind. However, when talking to them, I learned they were hired off Craigslist the day before (never worked with Legacy before) and could barely reach the moving company. Along with this, I learned the move they were doing before (the one I was told they had to finish up first) wasn't even for the company; they were moving a personal friend's stuff that morning. When I called the company number, Legacy did not apologize and told me that there was a two-hour minimum. They would not be discounting any of the price despite being three hours late and barely communicating. After all this poor communication, the movers and I lost so much confidence in Legacy that neither of us were sure if they would be paid. We ended up letting them wait with us an extra ten minutes so that they could use our wifi and confirm Legacy cash-apped them payment. That, the company at least did fairly promptly. TL;DR Do not use this company. They are just an uncommunicative middleman for hiring movers off craigslist.
