At (around) $5 per bao, these are on a pricier side, but worth it from the flavor alone. The differing Asian Fusion ideas with each bao made them each unique and enjoyable. Offering Tofu, Chicken, or Pork Belly protein/meat options, Bird & Bao successfully caters to various dietary preferences. My personal favorite was the Blackbird, which reminded me almost of a Korean Soy Garlic-flavored coating on the chicken. The flavor was strong and enjoyable with each bite. Warning!!! You might get addicted! Bird And Bao serves up some serious bao! The innovative menu choices offered make this place a Patchogue gem. Located off Main St, paid street parking and a paid lot in the back of the restaurant. There is a back entrance to the building. Inside, the restaurant is very small. They have a few tables inside but I believe this is more of a takeout spot. It's extremely clean. The workers sanitize everything after each customer leaves their seat. The prices are fabulous for what you receive! $15 gets you 2 huge bao, a bunch of seasoned fries, and a drink. They also sell the bao separately. The other menu items are also fairly priced. The service was super friendly & fast! The food was amazing and very addicting! The bao are the best I've ever had! The unique menu choices make this place even better. I chose to try the Bao Box: Nashville Hot Chicken & The Patchog which came with wonderfully seasoned crunchy fries & house limeaid. The Nashville came with a huge chunk of juicy chicken. The spicy Mayo went perfectly with the chicken. The Patchog was also fantastic. I liked both so much, I can't choose which was better. They're both 5 out of 5 stars. This is another spot I wish I lived closer to because it's just that good. I was out in Patchogue on a business trip when I noticed this place on Yelp. I decided to check it out. It's a quaint and small hole in the wall. Bryce at the front was INCREDIBLY friendly and patient. Recommended me the Nashville chicken Bao as well as the bird box. I'm hopeful that will be an historical reference at some point. :) I was in and out quickly but the restaurant and kitchen spaces looked very clean. As it was my first time, I ordered two Baos; "The Sweet Heat" (sweet mildly spicy chicken) and "The Patchog" (pork belly). Both were delicious. Fantastic addition to an already established restaurant area. This place stands alone for sure as you're not gonna find this type of food on the main st strip. And the food is 5 stars. I tried four different boa and the fries. Fries speak for themselves as they have their own seasoning recipe and it doesn't disappoint i can tell you that. You can split the fries between two people. Each and every boa we tried was spectacular. They also have pre-made lemonade and dragonfruit drinks. Maybe 12-16oz each. Freakin fantastic man.
