Maintenance has been responsive and thorough thus far. Maintenance has been out cleaning the grounds, sanitizing door handles and cleaning common areas. I can hear my neighbors kids bouncing around upstairs once in a while but nothing terribly irritating or serious. This is an apartment complex with several buildings and different kinds of people. There's bad people everywhere you go.

My husband and I just moved here and our experience has been awful so far. After we got approved,…read moreour leasing agent went rogue. We were passed around to 3 different leasing agents and all of them were very rude to us. We were told that we can do a final walk through of our unit a week before our move in date and when that day came, we were told our unit wasn't ready and that they "usually don't tell people that". When we asked if our unit would be ready before our move in date, the leasing agent said "it should be but I'm not sure". It was like pulling teeth just to get a for sure answer. The week of our move in date, we were told that our unit would not be ready until 2pm on our move in date (still no final walk through). The unit ended up being ready by 9am on our move in date, but when we did a walk through we found so many things wrong with the apartment. There is a crack in the wall above the bedroom window that is the entire length of the window, there's a crack in the corner of the window, a crack in the ceiling, the toilet paper holder is loose, paint chipping in the bathtub, and holes in the living room window screen. Also, one of the screens in the living room window was wide open. We took pictures and documented it. Fortunately, our parents were able to fix the toilet paper holder and we pulled the window screen over to close, but we shouldn't have had to do any of that. We were sold on an updated unit that is move in ready (and it was VERY expensive to get in this place). During the documentation process of what needs fixing, the leasing agent was very rude to us, making comments like "well a lot of that stuff is cosmetic" and "if you guys still have a lot to fill out, you can do it in the business office. I have to finish my work". Also, we never received our mail keys when we turned in our document of what needs fixing (they "hold them for ransom" until you turn in that document). Fast forward to our first night here, our bathtub was clogged and we had to pull out a large clump of hair from the drain (neither one of us had showered yet). This was very frustrating as we had already been through a lot and just wanted to shower and relax. Also, there was a pile of dog poop in front of our living room window that my dad had to pick up and throw away. Overall, this has been a VERY frustrating process. This place takes your money FAST and does very little to resolve issues. We are glad that this is only a 12 month lease and are already looking forward to moving out. All pictures of our issues have been included and maintenance requests have been submitted.

This is a great apartment for those living on their own for the first time. You'll learn how to fix…read morethings on your own, as you'll lease will expire before the maintence man ever returns your calls. Walgreens may be half a block away, but with the conviences of the drugs your next door neighbors will be selling, why even bother going to walgreens? When you tour the place, you'll see a nice modem unit with tons of amenties. But when you actually rent the unit you'll end up with a unit that hasn't seen updating since your parents moved out on their own. Also a great place to start a family, as there are tons of activities for your kids to do. You don't have to worry about your children ending up smarter than your dumb ass for renting this apartment. They'll be gnawing on lead paint chips and then get to experience the worst Joliet Public schools have to offer. (But that's another review all together) Go ahead and let your little bundle of joy drink forumla made with Joliet tap water, it contains radium, as in the reason they can't drink the water in Japan anymore. Joliet claims it's not hazardous to humans, but it sure kills house cats and dogs fast. You don't have to worry about getting raped as long as you dress consertivly and tape your breasts down, because those hussies that actually got raped in the hallway were asking for it by showing clevage. Don't have any friends or dating life suck? That's OK, you'll have plenty of roaches to talk to, perhaps you can even find another rat named Ben and be the next Michael Jackson.Cher may have said we all sleep alone, but she never slept in this apartment building, where there's an orgy of sucking all night every night, and it's the bed bugs on all parts of your body, not just the parts that enjoy a good sucking. If you really have no intentions on having a better life for yourself or your family, this is a great place, if you do want your life to get better, try the dumpster behind the food for less, you can get enough boxes to make a lovely duplex.

I've lived here in Sutton Place for several years. I'm the type of tenant who you rarely hear from…read more I don't bother anyone, I pay my rent on time, and sometimes I need maintenance to fix something. All in all, I mind my own business. I will be moving from Sutton Place once my lease ends. Maintenance will decide what is important to fix and what isn't. So they will fix a broken door, but the hole in my wall from the previous tenant slamming the door into it won't get fixed because it's not important enough. I understand he's busy, but if he's already here fixing 15 other things, can we patch a small hole? I'd like to live in an apartment that looks nice if I'm paying almost $1400 a month. I've requested many maintenance fixes and many of them are declined, or he'll come and give me a half-ass fix for the issue, like the dishwasher discussed below. The dishwasher barely works, so don't bother using it. It leaves a white film all over all of the dishes. It's probably from the water out here. When you call to ask for it to be fixed, maintenance will just run a cleaner through it that you can get at Walmart yourself. Yep, it still doesn't clean the food off of the dishes. Called again, was told "Oh yeah, they're really crappy" by the girl who answered the phone. Yeah, that helps a lot. So now I can't use the dishwasher except as a fancy drying rack, because I'd just have to clean the dishes twice. Again, $1400 for this apartment and a major appliance is crappy. I'm extremely frustrated with an apartment complex that I've been raving about to anyone looking for a new place. They are continuing to raise rent, so a price you were quoted for a two bedroom last year probably won't be the same this year. From the time I inquired about an apartment to the time I signed my lease, the rent jumped $50. Not a big jump, but when I commented on the price change, I was told I was lucky I was getting in now, as they were raising it again in a few months. Again, that's their choice, but just be aware that it's continuing to go up. What it's going up for, I have no idea, because you aren't getting anything new. The apartments overall are meh. The landscapers never come in the summer, do a crappy job of mowing the lawn. There's always garbage all over the grounds. The walls are paper thin, so you WILL hear everything your neighbor does. Don't bother with a first floor - the ceilings will let you hear every step your neighbor makes. The neighbors can be nice, but if they aren't, nothing ever gets done about it. They just leave door hangers and won't address any issues. It's expensive - what exactly you're paying for is beyond me. The carpets are crappy and get dirty immediately. The paint on the walls is so bad that a drop of water will stain it - I'm serious. Basically, you're paying a ton of rent for a private entrance, smaller apartment buildings, and an in-unit washer and dryer. That's about it. The office only accepts checks for rent - no online payment. Just look somewhere else.

I was barely home, because it was so dangerous for me and my toddler. I would come home to glass on the floor, the maintenance men would go through my things. I would hear conversations that i had on the phone from my apartment from other tentants who laughed at the fact that they we're getting away with attacking me. I remind you i talked very low, So i honestly think it was a secret camera in my home. The tentants would lie on me & my toddler all the time. When i address the tentants, they got very upset and wanted to fight and start threatening me. When i told the property management, they put a letter on my door saying i wouldn't be able to renew my lease (Believe me i wouldn't have renewed my lease anyway, because the environment was extremely dangerous) One day i called the police and the tentants upstairs from me already knew i had called the police, And we're already standing at the place where I told the police to meet me at, nd made it seem like i was the one's doing things to them. It took me time to get there, because my child is autistic. Again, i believe it was a secret camera in my home. The maintenance men, tentants and property management lied on me and said i had a dog so i could get kicked out of the apartment before my lease was up. Some parts of joliet are very dangerous, Especially Pine Meadows Apartments and other apartment buildings as well. I'm a black woman saying this, because it's true
