First time here Labor Day weekend hoping to catch some sales....not much going on. It's annoying to go to an outlet store just to have the same price as the regular store or online. They have the typical outlet stores like Coach, Old Navy, etc. but they do have a Pottery Barn. We walked in, not very busy and literally NOT ONE EMPLOYEE ACKNOWLEDGED US or even said "hi" despite us walking right in front of them. They seemed to have some decent prices, but items I liked were too big to take home on the plane :-) I was surprised they had a Goodwill next door....full of really cool Halloween items....the best items were big animated figures for $299....little pricey for something they received for free, but that is typical goodwill. Clothing and household section was small in my opinion. I was looking forward to the Lululemon store, but not too impressed with the prices. Most prices are the same as the online prices "We Made Too Much." I came back after the Labor Day weekend thinking maybe they might have different deals....NOPE. Same stuff and same prices. I have to say, the employees here were not friendly here either so maybe it is a Michigan thing? It's not often you can blame commerce problems on your landlord. But when the economy has recovered and your complex hasn't rebounded, there is a problem. At the Birch Run Premium Outlets, an entire district still lies dormant and has been for a number of years. I'm told by a few of the businesses they've shared their discontent with current management, only to have their complaints fall on deaf ears. On the back forty, they have enough heavy equipment to fight a small war. Yet, on Friday we had one of the few snow dumps of the season and I couldn't help but notice a mere single path plowed around the parking lot. Looked like a race track. No Kubotas on the walkways or in the parking stalls. A very small effort to provide safety to shoppers and store employees. There are several repairs needed to the lot itself as well as the lavatories. But, they have done well policing the litter and keeping the building fronts attractive. No easy task considering the turnover here. Finally, I'm told individual businesses can't have lit open/closed signs in their windows. Makes me mad to show up and discover I'm two hours early by getting out of the car and walking up to a closed shoppe. The neon sign really helps us older folk! If no signs are allowed, maybe you should insist that all stores adhere to the exact same open/close schedule? It used to be a place where you spend the day walking each district and checking out the sales. Now a days we stop at two or three stores on our way to some other destination. This is where I rediscovered Old Navy. Lol. My sister in law had the cutest pair of wide leg jeans and she told me they were from Old Navy. I got a pair of jeans there and we checked out a few other stores. There were even antique/vintage places to browse through. Prices were reasonable throughout the shops and service was great. read more

Nice selection of stores. Great spot for shopping for outlet items on a nicer day, no rain. They have Pottery Barn, Coach, Bath and Body Works, Sperry and so much more. They have protection for sun and rain if needed. It's a good size mall, great for exercise to walk to all your selected stores. read more

Birch Run opened in the mid-80s. My mom liked coming here when it was a new outlet mall with much lower prices than shopping malls in town. Her favorite stores at Birch Run were Easy Spirit and Jockey. We would also stop by Pepperidge Farm when I used to like the Goldfish crackers. I made two visits to Birch Run in 2020 as a brief stop on my way to Frankenmuth. A lot has changed since the 80s and 90s. I was disappointed by what was offered there. Like a lot of malls in the 21st century, I saw tons of vacant storefronts. Easy Spirit is no longer there and Jockey did not have the good deals that I remember from my childhood. The Sketchers store had some sales but nothing that I thought was any different from a sale you may find closer to home at the local mall. I didn't get anything from Pepperidge Farm. I suppose my food tastes have changed from when I was in elementary school. I would not go out of my way to visit Birch Run. I may stop by but only if I am planning a trip to Frankenmuth again. read more

The stores here didn't really have any good sales like they used too! Every store had only 30% off which was not that much off except for one store which was Northface they had 50% of pretty much everything in the store! It also seemed like the prices were higher. Also if you wear a size x-small you have it made! Wasn't a lot of clothe in large or x-large size. A lot of stores are not there anymore. So it's best to check it out online to see if your stores are there anymore before you go! Even the Bath n Body works store had the same discounts as you get from the home stores. They did carry a few retired lotions but really no great deal! It just didn't seem like low prices considering it's an outlet mall! I won't be surprised if it closes soon! We have started a tradition of going each year in the beginning of November. They have a nice variety of stores to meet your shopping needs. Most stores are offering nice discounts that make the trip worth it. They are following covid guidelines really well and controlling foot traffic. I felt very happy with the way the workers were handling things. PRO TIP: download the app before you go and sign up as a VIP- then you will be able to see all the deals ahead of time and the daily specials. read more

We like coming back to Birch Run Outlet and do shopping mostly after each season is over. The stores offer good prices. Most of the sales person who works here are friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking. The Information centre looks nice. Restroom is always clean and replenished with soap and paper. The lounge has comfy chairs. There's a vending machine for soda, water and coffee. We usually go to Nike, Coach, North Face, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. There is also Banana Republic, Lacoste, Puma, Coleman and other specialty stores. If you live far, there's a hotel you could stay for the night so you don't go rushing home. Lots of options. I don't know what to say...It's always been a great place to shop! It's a little far for me to come here often, so I try to make it at least once a year, or when relatives come for a visit from out of state. Sad thing is, that I tend to spend too much when I do shop here...is that good or bad?? You can always find good bargains on clothes and shoes, and even loaded up on merchandise from Bath and Body Works...yea they were have a great sale and I couldn't resist. When you need to rest and starving, there is many restaurants in the area to satisfy any cravings. Good thing there's a Starbucks in the area as well. Just wish there was a little more Kitchen/ household stores here. I miss my Mikasa store (Lenox/ Pfaltzgraff/ Corell gone too?). Wish there was a William Sonoma, Crate and Barrel or some kind of fine china dinner plate store there. Parking is ample, safe location, and very clean area. read more

It used to take an entire day to shop here and get through it all, but now could be done in just a few hours. Good location right off of I75, with restaurants and hotels nearby. read more

How could it be anything less than five stars. Are you kidding me Nike for $1.79, Guess for $2.49 just kidding but the selection is great and the prices are great. Although there really were not any great deals, spent almost $200 on three pairs of shoes at Nike outlet. I've gotten shoes their before for like $25-$30 a pair. Nike outlet had a great selection. Adidas outlet blew, and thats a shame because I'm a HUGE 3 stripes guy. Gonna drop a "G" like nothing today, but looking good comes at a cost, and my kids gotta look fly. read more

It has been many years since we stopped here at Birch Run Premium Outlets but I was on a mission today and we were meeting friends nearby for lunch in Frankenmuth. What I like about the layout at BRPO is that if you are focused on what you are looking for, each of the stores has its own entrance from outside so you can drive close for parking and get in and out quickly and conveniently. The entire complex is conveniently located immediately off I-75 and GPS can search individual store locations. They have a wide variety of stores from clothing to sporting goods to housewares to shoes to upscale brands to...etc. They can be quite busy at times so you have to drive slow through the parking areas, be patient, and play nice. Follow these suggestions and you will have a fun time here. read more

I used to love Birch Run Outlet Malls when I was younger, as it was an annual routine for my family and I to go to Birch Run Outlet to shop for school clothes, right before school year started. I decided to go to the outlet mall after going to Frankenmuth, as I thought that shopping experience would be a great way to end an already great day spent at Frankenmuth. I ended up going to a couple of stores, and found that in my opinion, there really wasn't too much of a price difference or sale at the outlet stores, that I couldn't receive at the regular retail store. So that was disappointing, b/c there really wasn't any sales. Also, there were a couple of stores that I wanted to go to, but were closed at the time, I'm assuming due to COVID-19, however, the website didn't reflect those closures or changes. So I wasn't happy about that. Overall, I was disappointed with my visit to the outlet mall, and the prices. But I do think there are other attractions that can pull people in to make the trip more favorable, such as the shops and experience at Frankenmuth, then there is great dining experiences nearby such as Zehnder's Restaurant and Tonys I75 Restaurant, which are huge attractions as well. I'm not sure at this point if the majority of the stores are now open at the outlet mall, but even if that is case, given if there is really no competitive deals with sales, I wouldn't be too interested in going back soon. read more

Sign up online and become a VIP member and then go to customer service building when you arrive get a sheet that has all the participating stores that have their own discounts. Super easy way to pick up the coupons. There are so many stores to get items at such a great deal. When I was there one day the Coach store was all 75% off. They have tons of name brand stores under armor, Carters, gap, American eagle, coach, Columbia, Le cruset, fossil, new balance, merrel shoes, kitchen stores, makeup stores and so many more. The stores I always hit is Nike, North Face, Levi's, American Eagle, and Reebok. If you go here, go on a holiday. They have a free trolley that runs to take you to all the stores you want to go to. I have been to these premium outlets several times the past month or so. Lots of shops and also lots that aren't anything special or vacant. I was able to get a great deal on clothing at Under Armour (40% + off nearly everything + spend $100 get $20 gift card) Walked away with a new wristlet and purse from Michael Kors, both 70% off. Prices that are still regular price online at Michael Kors and Macy's. Lot of name brand stores and lots offer great deals and savings. Can be hit and miss though. While there's a lot of new restaurants and fast food places nearby, there's only one place to eat while inside the outlets and that's a Chinese place Did find a hot dog stand though. Free coupon book via Yelp check in. Also can get one with AAA card. Comes in handy for some stores, especially with Christmas shopping. There's a few benches along the way and some rest areas and bathrooms. read more

The king of the outlet malls. Well, to me they were until Great Lakes Crossing really upped their game adding some of my favorite stores--J Crew, Fossil, etc. Stuff only Birch Run used to have. Now, with these recent additions, I tend to go to GLC more often but Birch Run has got one thing Auburn Hills does not....The Pottery Barn Outlet. As a fairly new homeowner that PBO is so super sexy, especially the cheaper furniture. Although it seems I have a really hard time finding anything there when I'm ready to buy! But I love that they have it. The outlets are really spread out so it's not exactly easy to go from one strip to another, but anyone who has ever lugged multiple bags through the massive circle that Great Lakes Crossing knows that it's kind of a relief to have your car so close by. If only to drop your crap off. Around holidays it can be kind of crazy. And I'm always appalled at how many stores actually have a line out front to get in (I'm looking at you, Coach and Northface) but if you're on a budget or have a lot of people to buy for it's a great "one stop shopping" kind of place. read more

Everyone always spends too much here, time and money. They have a good selection of stores but the bargains are not always easy to find. Just because it is an outlet doesn't mean all the goods there are necessarily the cheapest thing, know the going rate before you go in. Make sure to go to the main office before you even start shopping for a coupon book, discount card and even more savings of you have a AAA card or an AARP card. Get on the mailing list and they will send you plenty of offers to lure you back. I can spend all day shopping the various stores and it is ideal for big occasions like Christmas. This mall includes many well known brands such as: Coach, Nike, Torrid, Lane Bryant, Bare Minerals, Corningware, Le Creuset, Bath & Bodyworks, Motherhood, Oakley, American Eagle, Carters, OshKosh, Crocs, Puma, Pottery Barn, Rue 21, Gap & MORE! The outlets are really spread out so, it gives you plenty of space to "breathe". And you can drop off packages at your vehicle and not carry them all the time. Around holidays it can be kind of crazy. This mall is in a perfect location, because you can travel only about 10 minutes up the road to Frankenmuth, MI & visit all the great little stores there (SugarHigh Bakery), as well, as try a chicken dinner & shop at the Bronner's Christmas Store!!! I despise the layout of this place. It is NOT walker friendly. You have to either drive to each section, or wait for the stupid and slow trolley. The bargains are not that great either. All the Canadians love it, and I know for them it is a bargain, but I have never found anything at an amazing price I couldn't walk away from. This isn't a terrible outlet mall by any means. The store selection is pretty impressive..they have just about any outlet store that you can think of. My only issue is the set-up. There are a couple instances where to navigate yourself through the entire outlets you have to cross major 4-6 lane roads. This was a bit much and did not seem too safe..at all. I guess there isn't much you can do about it if you're trying to have as many shopping options as possible here..but it just doesn't make for an overall comfortable shopping experience. read more

I love this place from what I have seen so far. I think OUTLET just means LAST SEASON wares for a nominal discount. Great collections of stores and shops that you find is area Malls anymore, like Harry and David and Oakley. I would LOVE to hit this complex for Black Friday when there may be some real bargains. The parking layout just adds TONS of walking and traffic congestion. I guess it's the compromise for the huge selection in each store. Park and wear comfy walking shoes. Keep your spot and make trips back to the car. Try not to move your car if you don't need to. read more

The last visit, we spent out time in one area, but it was nice to go back and revisit again... next time, I'll have to do a better job of planning... so many stores... one can lose track of time if you are not careful... I remember coming here as a kid, and it was kind of a big deal. Totally a long drive, (well, I was a kid, so it was probably not that long) and it's been a while since I've been back. But, see, things have changed since I was last here. The internet was invented, other malls have been born (Great Lakes crossing anyone?) and a lot of time has passed, but the fond memories are there. I came up today because I wanted to check the place out again. In some ways, it's still the same. Huge selection of stores, rock bottom prices (mostly) and plenty of other things to do around here for an entire weekend if you want. The mall itself is in good shape. It's exactly as I remember it, and it doesn't look like it's aged a bit. I have my favorite stores here, such as Bass shoes, Rockport, Columbia, Pottery Barn and many many more. The selection here is amazing, and it's the same stuff you see in the stores at regular malls, but cheaper most of the time. Today, I found a coat in Columbia that I wanted, since I love their brand. Normally $60, marked down $34, got it on sale for $22. BOOM! SOLD! I also had success at the Rockport store, Bass, and a few others but didn't spend a whole lot since I was mostly there for only a few things. I think I will come back, but the competitions kind of stiff these days. Between Great Lakes Crossing, the internet, cost of gas and several other things, I can't justify coming up here like I did when I was a college student back in the day. I would love to come up and spend the night here so I can come and go as I please, but overall, it's not a bad place. Worth coming up here for a day or two if you have the time. read more

I cannot believe it!!! I have never seen any outlet mall so empty. I thought I was in the zombie land. Went shopping on 4th of July, thinking there would be amazing deals at the "outlet mall". There were barely any good deals and the place was so dead. Almost all the stores had outdated stuff. Looks like this mall is not the ideal mall for 4th of July. I don't think I would want to try it again on some other holiday. How come they don't have water fountains all around the mall? Weird! Great lakes mall is definitely better if you are into budget stores like H&M, Forever 21, American Eagle, Charlotte Russe, etc. Good thing- They have huge parking lots. So you can park your car at different spots depending on which store you want to visit. It has many high- end brands: J. Endless choices for your retail therapy. Some are outlets, and some are not, so don't come here thinking that everything is a cheap bargain. You REALLY have to look, or you might end up spending more than if you were to go to a regular mall! I don't mind coming here if I already have what I need to buy in mind. Like others have mentioned, the different outlet plazas are spread out with not a convenient way to get from one to another without putting in a decent amount of effort. However, if you like to walk, then you will be happy! :) I personally don't have an issue with walking, but during the winter time, the last thing you want to be doing is freezing your hands and feet off just trying to get from Banana Republic to North Face (which btw, they are on complete opposite sides of each other). They do have a coupon book that you can pick up in their management offices so you can score more discounts, but after flipping through it, a lot of the ones that offer GREAT discounts are the less than desirable stores. Big bummer. :( Regardless, the options are great and you can shop for everybody in the family. Just be prepared to do a lot of walking, or be fine with getting in your car and risk driving in circles while you make your purchases. read more

Unsurprisingly, once I found out that there is a 'The Cosmetic Company Store' here, shit was on like Donkey Kong. TCCS carries Estee Lauder brands...Aerin, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Origins, and MAC make me a pretty happy person. They also sell Clinique, Ojon, Bumble and Bumble and Smashbox. The products vary from time to time, which is nice if you like to browse.. but it's not so cool when you're specifically looking for something. There's skin care, make up, hair care, make up brushes, make up bags, GWP packages, and fragrances (some Aerin rollerballs, DKNY, Michael Kors, Clinique and Estee Lauder scents are always around). I like to come here to find limited edition products from past collections. When they're sold out in regular stores, with a bit of luck you'll be able to pick up LE or retired colors at a TCCS. It's a treasure hunt of sorts.. I told you I need a hobby. But seriously, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks for less than $40? Sign me up. Now that I seem to be rapidly approaching the age of 30 (woah) my skin care routine has become a bit more (fine, a lot more) involved. I love several Estee Lauder products (the Idealist and Advanced Night Repair lines are bomb), and they sell many of them here. Usually I end up buying them in stores due to timing, but if you're better than me you'll typically save between 20-30% off retail here. The only store I love more than this place is Sephora, but that doesn't really need explanation (*cough- NARS*). read more

Let's be honest. It's no Woodbury here, but it has a ton of good stores. It's more organized and has more variety than an average outlet mall. There is plenty of free surface parking. You can easily walk around the entire outlet mall if you were ambitious, but good luck carrying around hundreds of bags you'll be carrying within the first hour. Around the holidays, there is a line out the door of North Face and Coach. Other than that, have fun! read more

It's just like every other premium outlet you've ever been to in terms of prices and selection. It is extremely sprawling so you either need to bring some serious walking shoes or be prepared to drive between the plazas (recommended). Overall, I got what I expected so I'm pleased. No "SUPER AMAZING" deals but some decent finds for sure. Do not come expecting dirt cheap prices; this rarely happens at premium outlets in my experience. When it does, expect a line. read more

Great place to do your Christmas shopping any time of the year! Something for everyone in a one stop location. Wear comfortable shoes and arrive well rested. Worth the trip about once a year- I think yes. Once to twice a year I stroll through Birch Run and hit up my favorite outlet stores. As crazy as it sounds I battle the crowds the Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving and get some great steals. This year one of my favorite finds was $25 mens jeans at the Gap. These were some nice looking jeans for a reasonable price. I always make a trip into the Eddie Bauer store. They have well made clothing at discount prices. Plus they sell shirts in mens tall. Very convenient if you have trouble finding shirts long enough for a tall guy. On top of that, the Merell shoe store is great for comfortable dress shoes at a discount and the Columbia store has great socks. I wouldn't want to deal with the crowds or driving to Birch Run all the time but occasionally is good when there are deals to be had! read more
