The other staff I have interacted with were nice and efficient. The receptionist also helps with translations to effectively communicate what you want done. What more can I ask for? =) I had a great night yesterday because of Ms. Kim and Hieu. I was having a stressful week from school and work, so I decided to get a haircut and tried their "special massage" for an hour for the first time. I was so happy that I did it. NO REGRETS!!! Ms. Kim gave me an awesome haircut with a head massage and style....Man, it was amazing. It was so relaxing. I've never had an experienced like this...where you feel like you just don't want to wake up and leave the salon but Ms. Kim does her magic....lol! haha! Seriously, she is so nice and very accomodating. Also, how can I forget Hieu...who did my "special massage".... whew!!! Felt so relaxed. He was very nice and made me feel at ease. I go here everytime I want to get my hair cut. The interior design is very simple yet stunning. The atmosphere is extremely calm and relaxing. It's inexpensive for the quality hair cut you are getting. I've been getting my hair cut from Kim for the last 10 years of my life. She knows how to start a conversation and how to keep it going. She also knows much detail of my life because to her, we aren't just customer, we are friends. She does much more than just hair, she also have a wonderful spa. This is THE place to get your hair cut. I noticed from the pictures that Kim is excellent at women's hair too. Not surprising. This woman is kind, focused and attentive to what YOU want done. You will NOT be disappointed. Also, the price is so, so cheap for such an ahhhhmazing job. They're pretty much open every day until like 8pm and when you enter, it's such a nice, calming atmosphere. After an accidental home clipper scalping, I knew something had to be done before Monday! So, at 4:30 PM Sunday I went on a search for an open salon. Thank goodness for Kim at Bionic! My friend and I stopped at 7:30 PM for cuts. Kim was busy but told us to return at 8:30 PM. We returned and she fixed my hair! I was so relieved. Kim has definitely been doing something right for the past 18 years! Her Sunday evening hours, great price, welcoming and friendly service will have me and my friend returning to Bionic again. This week, there was a miscommunication about an appointment that I made and I discovered there is no relationship or respect based on customer loyalty. I made an appointment online for two services that I normally get with my regular stylist. I thought the form was confusing and didn't see her name but wrote it in the comments that I wanted her to do my hair, so that it was clear. When I got there, my stylist wasn't there; there was another stylist that I'd never seen before. For obvious reasons I didn't want the stylist I didn't know to work on me. That's when the worm turned. Everything became my fault. You can ONLY schedule color by phone or email ( I didn't know, I'd been scheduling in person after appointments ). They disregarded my note in the online request for a reason unclear to me, so my request was ignored. Not letting the unknown person work on me, for them, equalled a cancellation. They did not accept any responsibility for their requirements being unclear or that it was a misunderstanding, not a disregard for their business, 'because you signed the paper that explained the policy". I've done business with businesses like this with 'gotcha clauses' but never expected a hair salon to do that. Cancellation policies are pretty common these days, but not like theirs. 'Their cancellation policy is to take ALL of your appointment money, In my case it was $190.00. Lesson learned.

Following two bouts of hair dying, not straight perming my hair for a…read morewhile, and many days of aggressively combing out the tangles in my hair, my poor locks were in dire need of help. And Yip's Salon swoops in and saves the day once again! Instead of getting my usual Japanese straight perm, Sally actually recommended I get the Keratin treatment this time around. While the Keratin treatment lasts only about 3-4 months compared to the 6-12 months with a Japanese straight perm, the Keratin treatment reportedly gives hair unparalleled softness and shine. There is also a straightening part to the treatment, so my hair did end up straightened, but not PIN straight like the Japanese straight perm. This was great because I always thoughts the Japanese straight perms made my hair a little TOO straight sometimes. I was a little skeptical at first because Sally asked me to keep the Keratin solution in my hair for 48-72 hours after treatment for optimal results, so by the time 48 hours have elapsed my hair was a sticky, greasy mess. BUT OHMYGAWD, once you wash the solution out, you have Pantene commercial worthy hair! Am so glad I gave the Keratin treatment a go like the pro recommended, and you should too! I like it even more than the Japanese straight perms, it renders a more naturally straight hair look and your hair looks like a million bucks afterwards!
