I began donating at this center early in 2019. From the beginning, the staff has all conducted themselves in a very professional manner, and donors have always been treated accordingly. I have had occasions in which I did have to wait a substantial length of time, but it was always because they were full, and never, in my experience, due in any way to failings by staff or any staff shortage. It has always been clear to me that the health and welfare of donors is a paramount concern. I have had nothing but positive experiences here.

When I walked up he said "well it's 345 so I can't get you in since your appointment was at 330" I had been in the building since 328 but because I have no control over the man not telling him to move to the side I can't donate. Also who ever is at counter 4 needs to focus more on his wife and not flirting with female donators. Like seriously we can hear everything you say and the girl was just trying to get signed in! I've been donating for several months. The wait has gotten progressively longer. It used to take 45…read moreminutes for the entire donation but the longest was 2 hours. A couple of weeks ago, I was told I needed to give a blood sample which I did. Then I received a letter from Biolife stating I could not donate because I had a STD. I called to get more information and was told they could not discuss my results over the phone. I went to the health department and took another blood test. Turns out the first test was a false positive. I never had the STD. Then I got a call from Biolife stating that I could donate again. The whole experience was unpleasant and stressful.

I double checked the website and there is NO indication of "please dress conservatively" or anything close to it. I called the day before to see if it would even be worth going. The lady on the phone felt like she was reading off a prompt and sounded incredibly nervous/unsure of herself. So I went today just to accompany my boyfriend. You'd think they have extra tshirts if this was really that bit a deal but whatever. My other issue was that I had to use the restroom real bad and the lady was like "you'll have to use the restroom next door." Okay but why? Third and final issue with this place was the fact that the lady at the door (not sure if it was the same lady who I talked to on the phone) looked and sounded like she had zero confidence in whatever they trained her in. If you're going to work at any kind of medical facility, you can't do this to patients/clients. It leaves them feeling nervous/not okay (I know because I work in the medical field). If you don't know something, don't be afraid to tell them "let me ask my colleague and I'll get back to you." Overall I left just not having a good feeling about this place AT ALL. One last thing, if there's conditions that permanently ban you from donating plasma, STATE THAT ON THE WEBSITE! Their cancer section just says (basically) "please talk to our nurses to discuss your condition". Hodgkin's lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that permanently bans you from donating any kind of organ, blood, or plasma for life. This is universal knowledge within the medical community. Boyfriend couldn't even donate today either - apparently a specific mental health condition is completely ineligible despite having ZERO risk of bring transfered via bodily fluids.

He told me the classes I needed to do online but that they would not be offered until after my class I go to. I explained I needed to take a Certification that I had TAKEN the courses online b4 the classroom meets. He kept arguing with me. I had to tell him how it worked. I finally asked to speak to an English speaking person & he put the English speaking person who was teaching him, sitting right beside him on the phone !!!! I was on my Netbook & someone told me I could not use my Netbook and would have to start over on Internet Explorer on my Laptop !!! I had even taken my Exams !!! I started ALL OVER on Internet Explorer and then was told later I HAD TO BE on Chrome and had to start from the beginning AGAIN !!! My Certificates didn't show up I called again and still they could not tell me what was wrong and still,as usual kept getting d/c. I ended up signing up w/ Am. Heart Association and dropped this Course, It is the WORST ONLINE COURSE EVER !!!I have a Master's in Health Science too !!! Very sad b/c it is really needed.

You could save up to three lives when you donate. It only takes about an hour of your time. I have been donating at this blood donation center for years. I give whole blood. But you can give plasma too! The people who work here are wonderful. You will be in good hands. It is located at Tibet and Abercorn. The building is in between Carrabbas and the dollar store. Their hours vary a little daily but they are open later for people to be able to give after work. Of course when donating there will be few questions and a little required reading. That is only to make sure you are healthy to donate. It is quick and easy. If you like the info can be sent to you before your appointment. I love rapid pass! Good news, no more pricking fingers! Once you are finished with the quick exam you are ready to give. The wonderful folks at the center will continue to take care of you through the end of process. After your life saving donation it's time for the best part. Snacks! You can sit, relax and eat/drink. Then do not forget to set your appointment for next time.

She not only couldn't get it but then asked another associate for "adjustment" I left without donating as she couldn't get it correctly. There is a small tear and it is still painful. I used to get monthly bloodwork so I know how quick it can be. Not sure why this happened today but won't chance again which is too bad as I have AB positive. It's a needed donation.
