I've been donating for 7yrs. I started when Trump was in office. The pay was so much better. Remember when c19 sham hit, they were urging people to donate even if they had it? Which they later changed their minds about that. Seems like that's when the fees started dropping. I don't think they pay the nurses well because within the year at least half the nurses had quit or got fed up. It's was a rough patch after that. The reason I'm writing this revue Now is the incompetance of the one's who do the sticks. I returned earlier this year and out of 5times I was only properly stuck once, LITERALLY! by Jenny. Ironically enough she did a restick on me on my next visit after another nurse screwup. the result of the restick was blood loss. So I get banned for 2mo. If i could give 0 stars i would. I came in as a new donor as i just move to the area from New York. Staff was rude and unprofessional they had me fill out a buchnof paperwork just to tell my that my address is on a "cant donate list" i asked them why they couldnt tell me and if my lease or a bill would be acceptable so that i could become a donor. The lady ashley and the other staff was very rude and was talking negatively about how about i must seriously need money to be upset of not being able to donate while i was in room 7. My friend over heard them speaking negatively about me. They spoke down on me and pretty much laughed in my face when i asked for corporates number to figure out why my address that is literally 3 minutes away cannot be used. Biomat was ok. The nurse Cari who helped me was outstanding. The initial process is longer than it could be. The 2nd visit I was in and out in 45 mins. There are numerous rude and I would say racist staff members. (reverse racism) especially in the back where they draw the plasma. I listened to one nurse flirt with a patient while I waited an extra 15 mins to get the line out of my arm. She acted like I didn't exist because I was a white male. Could be a good place with some staff management or replacement. Money is ok to help pay for Christmas. Otherwise, I would recommend another place. read more

As a first time donor of Plasma in my life I am more than turned off by the unprofessional and unorganized environment that Biomat has exhibited. As a new donor coming into the center for the first time at 7am when the doors opened (seeing returning donors sit in the waiting area) I sat in the designated area for new donors. I sat for 13 minutes and not a single representative acknowledged they I was there. The staff began calling the return donors to go put their information in the kiosk and I continued to wait. As I was sitting at least 3 of the employees made eye contact with me but still no one made any attempt to let me know the next step. After sitting there a while longer I decided that if this is what I have to deal with to save a life I don't want any part of it. This was a total waste of time and energy and I don't plan to return to such an unpleasant environment. I sat a total of 25 minutes and was not acknowledged in any form. I have large veins and had a nurse missed my vein for the first time in my life at this place. Very next visit was told I have a temperature of over 100F so I can't donate. Get home and check and it's a perfect 98.6F. This place has some incompetent workers. Until the new place is built in Macon I think I'm going to be taking the extra time to go to Warner Robbins. read more

The Only Reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the 3 or 4 ladies at the Front Desk and the one nurse who brought me paperwork Were Super Nice and a pleasure to be around. I am Blind and get around with the help of a black lab seeing eye dog named Moose who has gone through serious training to do guide work and is super well behaved. I visited bio mat in Macon on North avenue and it was a nightmare. First of all They Told me I couldn't Bring Moose my seeing eye dog to the Donation Area. Then they claimed it was company Policy and I informed them That Under the ADA they have to modify The Policy to allow. Then when I called the police They claimed it was a sterile area, when we looked through the window into the donation Area it was not sterile at all no different then going to the doctors office. and I still wasn't allowed, when I asked for a copy of the written policy they told me they couldn't show it to me and in my book if they cant show it, it doesn't exist . and refused to give me the phone number for the Higher up. Also when the police came they claimed they didn't want me back their because some of the patients and staff were scared of dogs. The two or three nurses at the front that checked us in were super Nice. Then they threatened to throw me out because I told my nurse what they said when they separated me from her and would not allow her to accompany me to consultation room to speak in private. At Least when I gave to the Red Cross they were nice and followed the law even thought they were exempt. After being referred to Biomat by a friend, I was extremely disappointed with their customer service and my overall experience while there. The receptionist and both nurses who waited on me were rude, curt, snobbish, and generally unpleasant. In fact, I was so disgusted with how they treated me that after my second visit I have since found a different plasma center. Although Biolife in Warner Robins is a further drive for me and doesn't pay quite as much, I love donating there because of the personable, caring, and attentive staff and the fantastic customer service they provide.
