I spent 2.5 hours for my initial visit and then I was told to get something from my doctor's office and send to them. I did that the same day and haven't heard back from them since then. I've called and left messages and still no response. I guess there is no big need for Plasma right now. read more

On my second donation they bruised my left arm (1st picture), the same thing happened on my sixth donation to my right arm (2nd & 3rd pictures). My veins are not deep, whenever they push the needle too far into my arm I get bruising/hematomas/blown veins. Four of my donations went fine without any pain or bruising. For 1/3 of my donations they blew right threw my veins. On 2/3's of my donations I didn't have any problems or bruising. Needless to say, whenever bruising like this happens you will not get the full months new donor bonus. It takes 10-14 days for this level of bruising to heal, and they will turn you away if you have any bruising. read more

My first experience here was is a good one. Leaving with the physical I was here less than three hours. I am expecting much quicker trips without a physical or long questionnaire. To start here was business like and professional. The nurse that did my physical was pleasant to deal with. If I had one complaint it would be that the building is a bit polled. I have looked at some of the other negative reviews and most of the things on them where dealt with or learned about during the intake process. I do recommend bringing a stress toy to squeeze during the donation process because just making a fist gets old real fast. My donation time was 43 minutes. From what I understand that was on the quick side it could take a little bit more than an hour just to give the plasma. Some other things to add are that the building and grounds is well-maintained, The area it's also a good area; even come in when it was dark was fine. If you want a way to support a good cause and make a little bit of extra cash on the side you should try coming here. read more

This is my 3rd time donating with BioLife and this location. WAY better experience donating here than CSL Plasma. Environment = really clean, professional, inviting and welcoming. Beds are immediately and thoroughly sanitized after each donation. Process = after the initial visit, it is a fairly quick process that flows really well. Staff = so far really good! I have been a donor here since Nov 2019. Facility is clean and everyone is pretty cautious or take proper precautions. Although I've only had one really bad experience, that was slightly traumatic; I'll blame that solely on one person instead of the entire facility. Overall, if you'd like to donate blood, this may be your best bet. read more

Very careful, kind, and attentive workers! I went today as a first time ever donor, hearing about BioLife through word of mouth. I arrived at my 12:10 noon appointment and I was finished about a quarter after 3pm. So I was there a stretch longer than expected. Getting set up with my fingerprint, photo, and identification, took no more than 10-15 minutes, then the staff promptly directed me to the next area, where the workers took a small blood sample from my finger, weighed me, then clearly instructed me on what to do each time I would visit. Even offered me a small snack and water bottle. Taking the electronic questionnaire probably took the most time, but I have a tendency to be a very cautious reader/slow tester. Most questions were simple to answer, but there were some time limits to longer questions, so I didn't get too academic or technical with it. After I finished the questions, Jearrod (or Jared), had administered my physical in 10-15 minutes. Very friendly and made sure I understood about the schedule options, my pay and bonuses, and clarified any questions I was unsure about in the Questionnaire. The tech unfortunately had frequent issues scanning my fingerprint at the different stations, so that added some time too. I then met Zenobia (hope I'm spelling names right) who took care of my procedure for the donation. Very knowledgeable and kind. She was clear and made sure I knew what to do while the machine did it's job. A very careful and smooth procedure, practically painless, and luckily I have big veins. Upbeat music even plays in the background to liven the atmosphere, albeit most songs aimed to the younger generation. Once the procedure was 100% completed, taking no more than 45 minutes to an hour, I waited for 15 extra minutes before finally departing. It's now the night and as of yet I've had no side effects or pains with the exception of soreness where I was stuck, which is to be expected. All in all a great experience. Before, I never even thought about the idea of sitting with a needle in my vein, even seeing Red Cross donors and procedures every year on my college campus. I learned it's one of those things that looks scarier than it actually feels. But my experience at BioLife McDonough has changed my view for the better. I'm looking forward to meeting more of the staff and workers there in my future visits, and helping others with my donations. read more

Huge waste of time. First off they lost paperwork sent by my doctor's office - 3x. I have burn scars on my arm. After seeing my arms the whole time I was going through the process for the 3rd time, the medical professionals decided the scarring "didn't look right". Do not waste your TIME with this place! It takes forever !!!! After sitting there for an hour and a half before beginning the actual donation process, I quickly went out to the car to get my negative covid test result to show them, since they required that last time. I came back in and waited another 15 minutes only for them to tell me that that disqualified me from donating, and that I would have to come back on another day. Evidently I should have been escorted to the car for that one minute to get the paper?? So ridiculous. Every time I have donated In the past it take 2-3 hours. You want to help someone l, but it sure is an Aweful process. I'll find other ways of helping and not return to this place. read more

I really wish there was a way to give 0 stars! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! I am a fairly new Biolife donor. I've been here 3 times. Prior to getting my veins checked, I was in the front for nearly an hour. The computers were terribly slow. I finally got my veins checked and was told they were good. I wasn't shocked because I've always had good veins. Once in the chair for the donation, I waited nearly an hour to get the needle inserted. Mind you, they tell you to eat within 3 hours of your appointment which I did but now it has been 2 hours in the center making it over 4 hours since my last meal! I was only about 20 minutes into a well-running donation and started feeling nauseated so they had to discontinue the donation. They immediately asked when my last meal was. Well again with the wait time it's been nearly 5 hours! It's not my fault they are understaffed and slow with lackluster computers. The 2nd donation, my machine kept beeping. The phlebotomist claimed I wasn't pumping my fist fast enough. She repositioned the needle to where it was barely in my vein. This made me nervous. Anyway, it didn't work so she removed the needle and stuck me in the other arm. I made sure to pump my fist fast but the machine beeped again. She asked another phlebotomist to terminate my donation because my veins were small. No! My veins are not small! She does not know how to stick! The next morning, both of my arms were swollen and the left arm was also red. The 3rd time I went, the place was so backed up people had to sign in on a wait list and wait outside until they were called in. Once in, me and several others had to have our veins rechecked. I watched as several current donors were turned away for small veins. Really?!!! The young lady also told me I couldn't donate because my veins were too small and I needed to wait 15 days then be rechecked again. They were clearly understaffed. If you don't have enough staff, stop scheduling so many people so close together. It's not fair to have people driving all the way there when you know you can't see everyone. I recommend trying a different location or company for your plasma donation if you can help it. read more

The bio life in McDonough Is amazing! The staff is friendly and professional and the facility is kept clean.This place is way more organized and operates as a true medical facility vs. CSL. Scheduling appointments streamlines the donation process and gets you in and out fast. They pay more and they always have bonuses too. I enjoy the entire staff to be honest but, David is knowledgeable about the donation process and an absolute pleasure to converse with. This place used to be great! Now, the wait is so long it isn't worth it. My appointment was 8:10a. I waited in my car for an hour before I could do vitals. Then I get vitals done and get in line for a chair. I finally left at 10a since there were still 6 people ahead of me and the line wasn't moving because they let new donors get in front of the line. Couldn't donate because they said I didn't weigh enough but I had just been weighed this morning at my doctor prior to my donation appointment. I weighed 115lbs at my doctors appointment and showed them proof of my weight. Their scale said I weighed only 107. There is NO way I lost 8lbs in less than 3 hour, they would not let me donate because they said they had to go by their scales not off of what my doctor said and the proof I showed them. read more

I would give this center a 0 of that was a new option. 1. The unnecessary chatter between employees at the front desk while donors wait to be acknowledged is absurd!!! 2. The way that donors are addressed and rushed through HORRIBLE! On top of all of that my stick for the first time in years was extremely uncomfortable. I recently transferred from the Warner Robins center and must I say, the staff is nothing short of amazing!
