So I always have a positive experience here, However I went a week ago Sunday at 3:05 or so for a 3 pm Appointment. The lady had me checked in system at 3:09 for apt but mentioned that it might not let me check into kisok for donation today. Well sure enough I could not sign in as it said that a appointment had not been found for me. I understand that I was late but the system should be timed & synced properly. So unfortunately I lost $100 as it was supposed to be my 2bd donation of the week. I also lost out on the $50 frequency donation as Feb only had 28 days & I would of gotten it this past friday had I been allows to donate. Kid up front asked me if I was trans within seconds of the evaluation- two hours later during the physical I was told I'm not being denied for being trans but I can't donate today and I need a note from my doctor. This "rule" isn't listed online anywhere - the manager "Marvin" also told me it isn't written anywhere and refused to give me a copy of this policy. He then kicked me out. Avoid. If you are a senior, THEY WILL NOT TAKE YOUR PLASMA! They require you to show proof that you do not have illness that they do not require for anyone under the age of 66! That is Age discrimination! They will find a reason ANY REASON to disqualify you and refuse to allow you to donate. After my 5th rejection asking for a doctors note I left. The people who work there are only following rules set by a company that is CLEARLY guilty of age discrimination. You could be a crack head and say you aren't, they take your word for it. If you have the misfortune of having psoriasis or eczema & are ever thinking of donating plasma, don't bother. Save yourself the humiliation and 3 hours of wasted time filling out their forms only to be told that they will not let you donate once they look at your eczema and treat you like a leper. When I started coming here they were newly opened and wait times were ridiculously long. After several months it was great. I would be in and out most days in an hour. Now that they have the donor comeback program giving as much as new donors, wait times are just stupid. My question is why can they give donors who haven't donated in over a year that kind of money but not the people who come regularly. Even the frequency bonuses are smaller and less often. I suppose this isn't a specific center issue but a company issue. They need to reevaluate the structure of their bonuses and payouts. BioLife does not care about you. They can hurt you and it's not their problem. I have been badly bruised twice by their associates. I went back after the first bruise healed and showed an employee the picture and she shrugged. I went back again two days ago and the needle was removed after a few minutes because the girl inserted it wrong and I one again have a significant bruise. You need to realize that you are not their patient or customer. They don't care about you and can cause you injury and there's nothing you can do about it. The money is nice, but it's not worth the problems you can be caused. read more

All the other reviews I've read here on Yelp DO NOT accurately describe this place. Most of them seem to be uniformed or incompetent people who don't understand what donating plasma is like. I have donated plasma over 10 times at this location and each one has been great. The front desk people are generally friendly and the phlebotomists are skilled and quick. Did two donations and during second donation I got a hematoma The next two donation visits I was told my vein on left arm was too small. Went to quest diagnostics a coue days later for blood work and was told I have GREAT vains! I had hydrated eaten well followed all instructions given to prepare for donation when I was turned away! So I have come back this place twice already after the initial physical that took 3 hours. Both times had a 25 minute delay because the "computer software is updating" and gives me an error every single time. Today, I come in for another donation and they tell me I need to do another "Speed" test and I can't donate in the same day I do this test. This is the same test that I ALREADY did the day that I waited 3 hours for a damn physical. The staff here is incompetent. When my mom did her Speed test, they kept sticking her in an arm with bad veins and she was BRUISED BEYOND BELIEF. They don't know what they're doing half of the time. The app never works despite the staff telling me that Villa Park is listed as my home center. Don't even waste your time coming to this place. Go to the Bolingbrook center instead. They "lost" my original blood test from 17 days ago, and now I will need to submit another one and wait 7 days for the results, which will negate the bonus. There's nothing wrong with the staff or the service but there is a major problem with either staffing shortages or management of the schedule for when donors come in. I starting donating here when it opened. I've donated over 100 times. Wait times have been long here and there but now it is consistently way too long. I had to walk out today after the screening and before donating because I have to pick my kids up for their activities. We have things we have to do. There's no reason for any of us to have to wait more than an hour or more just to start because it takes over an hour once you actually get a chair. Either schedule the staff appropriately or manage the app so there are not so many people donating at one time. Something has to change. This is even a larger issue at the Harlem location. I use both often depending on if I am working from home or at the office. read more
