I've been in 2 times trying to get involved with donating over the last year both times they came up with bogus reason as to why I can't donate. False advertising. There are many things that local employees are REQUIRED to do because National Headquarters deem protocol. Time spent per reimbursement equal an unproductive value for my opinion. The poking needles and finding and more poking and speeding up the machines. Some techs were helpful but some, not so much. read more

Super pissed off with them right now...2 weeks ago the young tech jammed the needle into my arm, blood squirtedout, left a huge bruise for two weeks. Wouldn't put the last round of blood back in. Since then I have only been able to donate once. Keep being told my iron is low. Which is bs.... read more

This place is utterly terrible. I have been to bars whom operate more professionally. First off, when I went, I sat through the questions and surveys while they created my "account". After about 45 minutes they took me back and checked my veins. After tapping at my arm a couple times with a light touch, stated my veins were too small for the 13g needle. I drink a lot of caffeine, and smoke, so I played off the cigs and soda, went in again a week later only to not only be told they can't feely veins cause they are too deep, but that I was too fat and they were deferring me for 6 months to lose some weight. But then took my roommate that's 100 or more lbs heavier than I. I am not fat, I weigh about 190-200 and a majority of it is muscle. Just finished my first donation today and it was wonderful. Plan on being here 2 hours or more for your first appointment as you need a physical and answer questions at the computer for about 20 minutes. I scheduled the playroom for my 2 year old Daughter and the playroom attendant Marianne was an absolute GEM! My little girl who has never even been to daycare took to her right away and had no problem playing while I did what I needed to do. Staff was professional and courteous. I am a certified phlebotomist so they had a good patient in me haha! Took about 45 minutes to donate 880 ml of plasma and I got paid $50 because they are currently running a promo where new donors earn $500 over the course of 8 donations within 30 days. I will definitely be back this coming week to donate more!! read more

Been twice; would like to go more before giving such a negative review, but I don't think I want to risk it. I struggled a lot with what to rate them, so let me give you good and bad and then my verdict. Good: Great nursing staff. My physical went well, they explained everything clearly. When I had a reaction near the end of my first donation the nurse was awesome, and a great help. Handled herself professionally and calmly. Also, they have pretty decent promotions to bring in more donors, and you can profit pretty well from those. Clean, modern facility, comfortable chairs. Bad: Incredibly unprofessional staff. The people on the floor who actual stick a big needle in your vein are not polite, not gentle, and not good at what they do. Both times I've been they adjusted the cuff on my arm wrong; simple enough to fix, but when I ask them to fix it both times I got a lecture about how I was wasting their time. On my first visit my left arm wasn't giving enough blood, so they switched arms. This of course is no big deal, but it was done without putting the blood back in me that had come out, which eventually led to a reaction when I lost a lot of blood. When I had a reaction, (Nausea, dizzyness, shortness of breath) the floor staff tried convincing me to just ride it out since I was, "so close to done." I eventually insisted enough that they caved and got a nurse, who scolded them and said they should've gotten her the first time. In general, the floor staff make me feel like I'm a nuisance to them. Admittedly, I could be, but that doesn't change the fact that this is their job. This is not like getting a bad waiter at a restaurant, and at least the food was good, this is getting a rude, inconsiderate, inexperienced person to perform a medical procedure on you. All in all: I feel bad for this because the nurse was so nice and I really really want to make money here, but the reality is that this particular place has bad staff. Now, if you're reading this in 2012 or beyond, then realize that there's probably been a turnover and the staff might improve. But right now, 2011, this is the last place I'd trust with my safety. read more

I have been going there for over 15 yrs. This is a very clean, well kept, up to date, friendly place. Bring a blanket with you as it is colder in there due to required temps for the Plasma. I believe the do a great job explaining things, answering questions, I disagree with the gal who said the staff are unprofessional. I believe that the majority are very professional and i have never had one person say that i am wasting their time with needle adjustments or any other needs. Needle adjustments are often needed during the donation cycle. If you ever feel like someone has treated you rudely the management should be told. They are very open and willing to hear complaints. I have mentioned once or twice but that is in a 15 year donation span. Not bad as there are no perfect places. read more

As of June 2012: The staff is rude and discourteous, stuck-up, unprofessional. They are bad at their job. They will make a mistake when sticking you with the needle and then get mad at you, the customer, for complicating the DONATION. If they make a mistake and push the needle all the way through your vein you will end up with a HUGE "bruise" - so large and painful that you may be unable to use your arm for a week. Will they apologize for their mistake which will undoubtedly cause you so much pain? No, no apologies for a job poorly done. On the contrary, they may offer to let you stop the donation and then get mad at you if you accept the offer. They often will not answer the phone. It may be ringing for 15-30 minutes with no answer. You can stand at the front desk for 30 minutes without any staff member offering to help you. The staff treat the customers, who donate their plasma for meager payment, as if biolife were doing the customers a favor. read more

It just keeps getting worse... Been a regular donor for about 2.5 years but each year by mid-October it gets SUPER BUSY with people donating for extra holiday money, but they don't staff any differently than they would in the middle of the summer when there are significantly less donors. If you want to stand in line for 20+ minutes to even get tested to determine if you can donate, feel free. Unfortunately my time has actual value, so I won't. I attempted to explain to them that they should do what they can to shorten the wait time from ridiculous to reasonable and was told I would receive a call from the site manager 'when she got in for the day'. Needless to say, she never called because they don't care if they have regular donors or not. They simply don't care whether you ever come back and donate again. Customer opinions mean nothing and they act elitist and threatening any time you try to point anything out to them. From easy and reliable 2.5 years ago, to 100% frustrating every time and not worth the trouble. I feel bad for the people who need the plasma, but this location does not deserve your business. read more
