Dr Chris Hanganman has treated me for years and has gone above and beyond to help me retain the teeth I have. Another dentist told me there was nothing they could do but pull all my teeth and get dentures. Dr Hanganman has spent years helping me without me having to get dentures. I have a family member that was told they could no longer go here because they had to cancel two appointments (in total). They tried to reschedule but were told they would have to check to see if they could still see her. Then they mailed a letter indicating they could no longer be a patient there. How impersonable and inflexible! Life happens, things come up. Maybe try having a policy that if you cancel you still have to pay a certain amount if it's all about your time and money? I've never heard of a place dropping you because you have to reschedule more than ONE time. Try to have some respect that life happens and sometimes people need to reschedule. read more

Dr. Haganman does excellent dental work! Even with the worlds biggest chicken in his chair...he and his staff were kind, patient and gave me my smile back. Most importantly - they never once said, I told you so :) I have been here several times and they have always gotten me in the same day when I have been in pain. Last week I went back to the Dental Center to complete the process of getting a crown. Dr. Haganman and his assistants were kind, helpful, and--most important--competent. The staff seems to be very fastidious about making sure no one brings germs into the building, and they question you the day before about your health, and also when you arrive; they take your temp and have you wipe your shoes. I've never had a better experience having a crown fitted. Highly recommend. read more

DR HINGST bad experience!! I had one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had at any doctor or even business establishment . I have not had good dental hygeine. And I have high anxiety about the dentist in general. I needed to go in for two cleanings, because my teeth were in bad shape. The first few times I had been there it was a great experience . There communication was wonderful, they were non judgemental. They made sure I was comfortable. And the lady even told me not to feel bad and she was glad I was there . That I had to start my healthy teeth journey somewhere. However this morning I had made a last minute appointment yesterday to get my second cleaning. The dental hygienist started by shaming me for not brushing which I was like yea ok shes right . However, when she started the cleaning she didn't numb anything . Everytime I jumped she didn't care. At one point she hit a nerve and I about jumped off the table started . Still didn't care. In comes the doc.... DR HINGST.... this lady sat there and hard-core shamed me . She was like idk if you want to waste your time amd money if your not even going to tale care of your teeth. At that point I began to break down and cry. She was like I can't make you brush your teeth. Just humiliating me . I said well I want to be better I will take care of them , can we just do it all in one appointment. And she was like oh no this is many appointments . She went back to the I don't want you to waste your time and money . at that point I just said I'm done being treated in humanly. she said ok and left. I left in tears read more

I went to the dental center to undergo the process of getting an upper denture and I will say that dr hingst did a wonderful job of pulling all my teeth. I never had any bone spurs or other issues from that part of the process. BUT throughout the 3 month process of fitting the denture is when the trouble began. The denture that dr haganman made for me never fit throughout the process, and when he was all done I went back to him 3 different times to show him that it doesn't stay put, and constantly falls down. Now he bragged over and over to me about how he's fixed everyone else's work in town, but when it came to his own work he refused to fix it 3 times. He even went as far as to say it was my fault that it didn't fit. It is impossible to speak when you never know where the roof of your mouth is gonna be, and for dr haganman to force someone to live with that is appalling. In the end I had to have someone else fix his work. I should have known when he wanted all the money up front before he would even start that he was not going to spend any of his own to correct his own mistakes. I would warn people to stay far away from dr haganman, the last time he refused to help me I refunded the last couple hundred dollars that he was holding on to in my account and I will never go back. read more

My friend recommended I see Dr. Haganman. I decided to give The Dental Center a shot--even though I live in Iowa City. In the 29 years I've been alive, this was THE BEST dental experience I have ever had. Everyone there was friendly and professional and the center, itself, was a positive, upbeat environment. Truly the best dental work I have ever experienced. I came to Dr Haganman with a tacky looking bridge on my upper right side (you could see the cement and unmatched color when I smiled). He replaced the bridge with a perfect, natural looking piece and filled the gap in the gum line. Many thanks to Sarah for her skill at making and matching crowns and bridges! Having a nice smile gives me so much more confidence. I have since had a crown in the far back. It's a blessing to have a full set of beautiful teeth, no more misery, pain or embarressment.
