Decided to check what Binny's had as far as whiskies. As I walked around I looked at the scotch but wasn't feeling anything. So I decided to look at the bourbons as I was looking for a sweeter taste vs a smoky flavor. As I was walking around, nothing really jumped at me so I decided to roam the store. Then out of nowhere, a bourbon was on a counter that I really like and have been meaning to purchase and hard to find. Typically, it generally flies off the shelves due to its nice cost, and great flavors. It has that nice blend of caramel and honey. I was able to grab it and the staff and I spoke about the bottles for a little while. The staff is knowledgeable and are happy to answer any questions. Prices are great and it is a one stop shop of all your needs. I highly recommend this location as they are very nice and welcoming. read more

I have always been a fan of Binny's since my first visit to a different location many years ago. I like the wide variety of alcoholic beverages they sell and I usually find what I am looking. Their prices are reasonable for the type of shop they are. I also have received good service. This is a newer Binny's location being only 4 years old and apparently having been relocated from another location along Lake Cook Road. I had my first visit up here today as my normal go-to Binny's is in Niles. Niles is usually fine for me, but upon doing some research, I found that for whatever reason this Binny's has more in stock of several specific wines that were sold out at many other locations. I also met and spoke to Mark, the wine consultant here. He was an excellent and knowledgeable consultant, as well as engaging and personable. Great store, great service, great products and inventory! Dam I've been looking for this cognac D'usse forever. I had this on Christmas and it seems like very few places carry it. My nephew brought a bottle and the family quickly polished it off Origin. The bold, yet remarkably smooth character of D'USSÉ Cognac was founded by Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter and conceived by the senior-most cellar master working today, Michel Casavecchia. ... This 200-year-old venue -- one of the oldest Cognac houses in France -- is where Casavecchia created". JZ wanted to create something for his 50tb birthday & partnered w/Michael Casavecchia in creating in what I feel is a very good cognac (not that I'm an expert but I really enjoyed it and looked until I found it at Binny's. This particular Binny's has a gentleman named Will who is the assistant manager & incredibly knowledgeable about the different spirits that Binny's has to offer. I'm mainly a scotch & single malt drinker when I drink but I really enjoyed the D'usse cognac created by JZ. Thank you Will for you patience & willingness to educate me on some of the finer points of the different scotches & cognacs. It was very enlightening. read more

This is a large Binny's location as most of them are however some are converted drug store locations so it's good to know which ones are the larger stores. They have the usual lose your mind get drunk looking at all of it gigantic alcoholic beverage selection that you expect from Binnys. The cashiers at this location are very nice and they always have enough lanes open, when things get backed up at the register they open another lane or start an express lane for credit card/debit payors. The slogan is truth. If you can't find it at Binnys it's probably not worth drinking! read more

My significant other and I went here for one of the events that they were featuring which was the Ardbeg Escape, which is a coach bus that is traveling across the United States to promote Ardbeg, the Scotch Distillery. Binny's seems to have a bunch of sampling booths on the weekends, which is a great way to get introduced to something different. There was wine and a few other tables set up. Binny's had a table set up for people to sample the four Ardbeg Scotch's. (All were great.) If you bought a bottle, they also did bottle engravings while you were there, so we bought the two bottles of Ardbeg that we previously didn't have and got them engraved. We wandered around there store to purchase some gifts for people. This new Binny's is so much nicer and brighter than their old location. The staff was very helpful in assisting us in what we were looking to purchase. They ordered us an item that they did not currently have at this location and we will be able to pick it up in a few days. Overall, I was impressed. The event was fantastic and the staff were super helpful. We will definitely be back when looking to expand our collection. read more

This is a great Binny's overall. They have a great selection of everything liquor-related. Like their radio tagline says, "If you can't find it at Binny's, it probably isn't worth drinking." They have fantastic beer selections in addition to wine and spirits. You can find some really obscure brands on the shelves and in the coolers. Prices are usually pretty competitive but lately the beer prices at this (and all Binny's) have gone up. That's the same story for all the liquor and grocery stores. Inflation - what can you do? One nice feature is they often have specials where you get a bag of chips or a jar of peanuts for a penny if you buy a featured sale item. They often have coupons sent to your email to use in the store for select items on certain dates. You have to sign up for their Binny's savings card to get the specials. And the Binny's card will save money on select sale items not available to those without the card. Get the card - it's worth it. Back in the day Binny's had some truly amazing wine tastings. The entire store would be ringed with tables loaded up with wines and champagnes for tastings. Free with the Binny's card. Those days have passed but seem to be coming back slowly. This is a nice location. Clean, ample parking, and easy to get into and out of. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. (Some folks may be delighted it is next door to Hatch Cannabis dispensary! I like this place so much more that the old one. Its so much more open and bright. The folks there do seem to be even more helpful is thats possible. The parking lot can be a little crazy depending on the time of day. Idiot drivers racing through the lot to cut the traffic lights. Keep your head up when pushing your cart to the car. They have a good selection and if they don't have it they'll get it for ya. I live in-between this store and the one in Highland Park and find myself coming to this store more often. IMO they did the right thing by moving. read more

I purchased 2 tall $11.00 beer bottles, a $25 bottle of wine, six pack of Hofbrau, and a 12 pack of Poroni beer. I asked the clerk (Amanda) if I could have a box ( the box that the wine and liquor bottles come from, they have about 200 + along the front wall of the store), she replied " I rather not!", i thought she was kidding. I asked what are ithese boxes for?, and she replied " For bigger orders ." I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I talked to the service desk and complained about her which when I turned around to point out the clerk she was gone and saw her hiding in the wine aisle. I left just to return back inside to get a full refund! I will never shop at Binnys again! I usually spend between $150- $500 a month, not any more! I wrote to the head quarters and never got a response! read more

I've been to many Binny's locations in Chicagoland and I can tell you that they are not created equal. At some locations, managers and staff seem put off if you have a question almost like it's an imposition on them to have to take the time to listen and reply. Well, this location in Wheeling should be the model by which Binny's should choose to replicate. The Manager is Dan and he is great. He is friendly and knowledgeable. The associates offer excellent customer service and ask if you need help instead of ignoring you like at other locations. It is always a good experience shopping here. read more

I absolutely love the new location! It's seems so much larger and better stocked than the previous one. Also, it seems like there are a lot more reviews and ratings on the wines here, which is much appreciated on my end. It's definitely much more organized and I love it. The staff is still just as friendly and just as helpful. Every time I'm in here I get stopped at least twice to ask if I need any help, and half of the time I do :) I really love how amazing the staff is here. Very rude manager. On March 24th around 8pm, my boyfriend and I decided to grab a premixed bottle of Bacardi. On the shelf the price was listed as $10.99. At the register it rang up as $16.99. As the girl at the register looked lost and kept saying, "I don't know what to do." She finally called the manager who was at the back of the store (Sam). During this I asked my boyfriend to go recheck the price to make sure so we werent wasting anyone's time. My boyfriend snapped a photo of the price tag so they wouldn't have to run back and forth. Sam, the manager, went to check the shelf price after a few minutes of taking his time to come to the front in the first place. He walked up and instantly in a VERY accusatory tone, asked my boyfriend why he took a photo in the first place. I stepped in and said I asked him to check the price just so I was sure I seen $10.99. Again he faught with us, saying, "I don't get why you had to take the photo. And the shelf tags were switched." My boyfriend asked, "I was just checking the price....are you accusing me of switching the tags?" The manager woke up and realized what he had been saying and the way he was saying it, yet grudgingly said, "No. It's fine, I'll take care of it." Granted he took care of it in the end, his tone was extremely unnecessary and his manners to a frequent rewards customer was absolutely astounding. I will never be going back to this Binny's again sadly. My boyfriend and I have worked in retail for 4 years and never have we witnessed a customer being accused to switching tags and having to fight for a price change that was the store's fault. read more
