Where they really shine (and honestly they shine in many areas) is with their deli and meat counters. Do yourself a favor and try a sandwich- they are so good. I recommend the Corti Special, but they have something for every taste. The deli area typically has a wait, but it's worth it for the selection of cheeses, meats, prepared items, sausages and olives available. We love trying new items and this is our regular spot to pick up deli meats and cheeses. We also like their polish sausages and I love their olive selection. They do have their specials clipping posted and we also like to try new things that are on special. The staff here is friendly and efficient and they'll ask you if the slice sizing is correct and even let you have a taste. The meat counter has a separate area/number to take but they have a variety of cuts and marinated options along with seafood options. The butchers are always so friendly and are happy to answer any questions you have. We recently learned they make some interesting sausages and fell in love with their corned beef sausage that is like corned beef hash in a sausage form. They bring in a lot of seasonal and local produce and the produce section is always impressive. They also have a great beer selection with some options that are hard to find in the area as well as local highlights. Honestly this store is just fun to explore and it's such a great asset to our community.

I ordered online with a few modifications I added in the special instructions box on the order page. I asked for extra lettuce, lettuce amount was meager. Asked for double pepper and light salt, neither were added. Asked for pepperchinis and jalepenos, extra mayo, sprouts and none of that was added. In addition the turkey was a bit light at 3 slices. I would tey them again but it would need to be in person so I can actually watch the sandwich being made to assure it is correct. However, the staff was super nice and store was bright and clean. Really wanted to go 5 stars...maybe next time.

We mostly stop by when we need a couple quick items while walking through the area, or driving past (if we can find a spot). For people who live in the local apartments though, it's perfect. On my latest visit I learned that this Safeway carries dry ice and that they have a Pokemon vending machine. Although, someone was camping out by the vending machine waiting for it to restock. While this is a nice grocery store, it's not one that I would go out of my way to visit unless I was super local.

I will say that "Nugget Markets" is one of the top leading grocery store chains in the greater…read moreSacramento area. Headquartered in Davis, CA dating back to 1926, they have been more of an upscale supermarket experience by offering top-notch customer service while being a forefront to the community. This includes empowering future generations, fortifying the neighborhoods, cultivating environmental change, and inspiring philanthropy. The location I am focusing on is in the Greenhaven-Pocket area. Located in a fairly sizable outdoor strip mall, this Nugget is located directly on Florin Rd and tucked in between Greenhaven Dr and the CA I-5 highway. As for this location, they have been in operation since around 2005 and been a staple for folks that reside in this area. Since I used to work only a 1/2 mile from this store (for about 3 years), I've frequented it on my lunch break as well as before and after work. The parking situation is shared with several other smaller brick-and-mortar businesses including a Starbucks, Subway, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, and much more. The storefront entrance is inviting and welcoming as the entire layout is accommodating while being easy to navigate for customers. I will say that the selection at Nugget is quite possibly the best I have seen in any local grocery store. Here you will find a vast array of produce (regular/organic fruits and veggies), meat/poultry, dairy, frozen foods, and a very impressive variety of beer and wine. However, their deli section which includes all varieties of meats, cheeses, and freshly baked breads is a real winner in my book. The hot and cold foods to go showcase freshly made soups, salads, olives, cold cuts, and meals that you can heat up on your stove or on your BBQ grill. I also wanted to emphasize that the sandwiches here are some of the best I have tried, better than Raley's/Bel Air and much better than what you'd order at a Safeway or Save Mart (all staple supermarkets in Northern California). In addition to the sandwiches, they also offer coffee/tea, fresh juices, açai and Pitaya bowls, smoothies, and much more. I will say that since Nuggets focuses on quality control, much of their food items are significantly higher than the competition. However, just about everything I've purchased here (whether it is pasta, a bottle of wine, or a loaf of bread) has been above average. All in all, the Florin-Greenhaven "Nugget Markets" earn a 4 out of 5 stars from me. Some of the key staple items are quite expensive and don't correlate with my budget. However, the customer service here is top notch while the cleanliness of the store is very well kept. I also wanted to add that the checkout lanes were run very efficiently while making sure every customer is well taken care of. And considering they are open for business 7 days a week from 6am-9pm, you can be assured that they will have what you're looking for.

Most likely because of the last day of the great 3-day weekend sale. The18-count eggs were $1.99. The lines were long but I was fortunate there were only three people in front of me...so I thought. The longer lines were rolling pretty quickly, but our cashier decided to be pretty chatty with SOME of her guests. The two gentlemen in front of me must have really caught her attention because she started a conversation with them right away, without them initiating it. It took her more than 10 minutes to ring them up because she kept stopping and talking, and I could not believe that she was disregarding the line growing behind me. I thought she'd greet me just as nicely since i greeted her very friendly, but I guess i didn't have the same effect as the gentlemen in front of me. So my rating was more so regarding the inconsistency in customer service.

My timing wasn't very good though because half the entree items were empty (mandarin chicken, teriyaki chicken, etc). The few entrees that were available were dried out so I got the skinny noodle chow mein with two pieces of fried chicken, instead of two entrees for the same price. The chow mein and chicken was dry too, and the skin and outer layer of the chicken was hard to chew through. I have to give them a pass though because I did go at 1:00, the end of the lunch rush, and there were guests visiting the kitchen at the time, and probably not able to cook to refill. While walking through the store to pick up great sale deals, i didn't pick up much, because the sale prices were not updated in front of the items. At first, i questioned whether certain items were even on sale this week. But the few items I picked up actually scanned with the sale price, so I suggest to make a list of those sale items before you go.
