My inquires were immediately addressed, all who were involved in the move were professional and pleasant. What impressed me a lot was that a mover arrived ahead of the others to begin breaking down the large items (i.e., king beds, dining table and chairs, etc.). This may seem like a small act, but when the full team arrived, the items were ready to move without any delay. All of the items that were moved were handled expertly and moved without any incidents. The gentlemen moved my entire home (a 4 Bedroom house) in less than 4 hours, which included travel time. Like many others often do, I researched various moving companies. Up & Out Moving was my choice and I am extremely happy with their services. The coordination process is agreeable and efficient (thank you, Danah!), and the movers are really professional and efficient: Dustin and Anthony from Garland location arrived on time, provided an accurate cost estimate per hours it takes to accomplish the move (and they actually finished the job early). During the move process, they are efficient and gentle (to carry and place my belongings), carefully wrap and protect my furniture, and they help me to disassemble my huge bed frame (and reassemble) which I have trouble with, and coordinate with me in a very professional and decent approach. stay away!!!! gate is wide open and no telling when they will close it so there is no security and…read moreyour vehicle is at risk for theft. 5:45 am today the gate got stuck from opening. it opened maybe 6ft wide. i called the emergency line and they said repairguy will be there in 15-20 min. almost an hr later he rolls in. then 20 min later to open it. i called later during the day to confirm the gate is fixed and i was told it was fixed. i was told a dump truck hit the gate. that was a bold lie, that gate wasnt damaged at all. it was still on the tracks, not bent or falling over. the real reason the gate wasnt working is because the chain that is on the gate that gets turned from the machine was bone dry, no lubrication on it at all. when that chain isnt lubed it will bind and strain the machine causing it to not work. how do i know this, i ran a storage facility for 20 years and i had the same mechanism on my gate. anyway, i show up at 8pm to find the gate wide open. i called the emergency # and no answer. i get a call back and a man claiming to be the owner telling me about this dump truck at 4am hitting the gate. he told me that if im not patient for them to fix the gate that i am being evicted tonight and he is disabling my code and towing my vehicle out. that is against the law. in order to evict they have to serve the proper paperwork by state law and give "x" amount of time to leave since ive already paid for nov 2025. now at 8pm i was talking to a customer that was exiting and he told me that at 4am he was there and the gate was stuck and he was calling them because he is now late for work because he cannot access his truck. funny how he didnt mention a dump truck there at 4am hitting the gate, hmm, thats because no truck was there at 4am hitting the gate. they just lack maintenance on their gate and dont care about their customers. this is how they treat customers. they leave customers with no security when you are paying for that gated security. so i strongly urge you to rent elsewhere as you will not have any security here as this gate is wide open as i am typing this review.

Here is our story: Our family had a very disappointing experience with "Community Moving" while relocating my elderly parents closer to us in Lexington, Virginia. What was supposed to be a carefully planned move for two elderly parents instead became a stressful and chaotic experience that left us dealing with damaged belongings and days of additional work to sort through improperly packed boxes. We chose this company not only because it is owned by veterans, but because of the company's mission and values. These meant a great deal to my family. This was not a typical move. My dad is retired military and this is their 17th and final move. My parents are now both in their 80s, and the relocation was meant to bring them into a safer home where we could help care for them. Because of that, we spent a great deal of time speaking with the company beforehand about the size of the move and the need for careful handling of antiques, heirlooms, and fragile items. We also provided photos and videos of the home so the estimate could be as accurate as possible. Despite those preparations, the move itself was far more chaotic than we expected. The truck plan changed shortly before the move, and later, additional trucks and packing materials had to be acquired by the company. Packing did not match what we had discussed ahead of time. Some fragile items and antiques were packed in ways that caused damage, and several pieces of furniture and household items arrived broken, stress fractured and in poor condition. The labeling of boxes was also inconsistent, which made unpacking extremely difficult. Many boxes contained mixed items from different rooms or had little description of the room or contents, which meant nearly every box had to be opened and sorted before anything could be put away. Because of the condition of the packing and delivery, we had to spend several additional days reorganizing the house with the help of friends and family. This was particularly challenging given my parents' age and health, and it added significant stress during what was already an emotional transition. We did communicate our concerns to management and provided documentation, photos and videos of the issues we discovered during unpacking. While conversations took place, the outcome did not fully resolve the situation for our family. This review reflects our family's direct experience with this move and the condition of items as they were unpacked. Moving elderly parents and transporting a lifetime of belongings requires careful planning, clear communication, and attention to detail. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone planning a large or complex move ask very detailed questions about packing methods, labeling procedures, and truck capacity before choosing a moving company. We did, but "Community Moving" fell short of our expectation. At present time, we are waiting on some resolutions with the company. We will be happy to update the review once this has been accomplished.
