First off, the price? Hilarious. You'd think for this kind of money, they'd throw in some basics like, I don't know, a working lightbulb or doors that serve their purpose. But nope! The moment the sun sets, the place turns into a pitch-black horror maze where even the rats carry flashlights. The rats. They are the true tenants here. Judging by the sheer volume of droppings, these guys are living large. And the locks and doors? Let's say I've seen rust with more structural integrity. If I sneezed too hard, the hinges would probably fall off. Honestly, I'm not sure if I rented a storage unit or accidentally leased an abandoned meat locker from the '70s. All in all, if you're looking for expensive disappointment, mild tetanus risk, and rodent roommates, look no further. Otherwise, maybe keep driving and try literally anywhere else. Would I recommend? Only if you hate your belongings.

My instruction was disregarded and they packed my jewelry and loaded it on their truck. When I asked where it was, they unloaded it and put it in my car. I transported the jewelry to my new home, and put it in a separate area away from other boxes that they were unpacking. They asked me to return to my old home to finish up some things, and when I returned the box with my jewelry had disappeared and they told me that they had unpacked it. When I went to check if everything was there, I found that a Watch and necklace were missing, totaling in value of $17,500. When I asked the owner how she planned on remedying the situation she told me she was not responsible and that I should have been wearing the watch. Completely disrespectful and unprofessional, and has contributed to fail to resolve the matter. The items were not only expensive, but sentimental. The whole experience was really sad and unpleasant.

The boxes were high quality and not the junk you buy at the big box stores and they give you discounts for buying 10 or 20. The Penske truck was great. A very clean truck that ran great and even had a liftgate on it that made moving our appliances and heavy furniture a snap. Loved it. Beats the heck out of those guys with the old orange trucks. LOL Customer service was top notch. Mike took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed and was very professional. If we ever need storage we will go there!!!

The only problem is that there is never a manager or staff to be found on property... even during business hours. You have to enter Elk Plaza Building just to find that Elk Storage Office is closed with no contact information for emergencies.

The Westmoreland Public Storage is Great!! Even though I moved to Irving, my storage is in Dallas,…read moreand I am very pleased. The Customer Service from Juan is 5 Star. On my move date, my movers accidentally brought things to Irving that should have gone in storage. We took my things back to the storage, and my key broke in the lock. I was very tired from a long day of moving. Juan made the situation all good!! I knocked on the door for the property manager. Juan came to the door, I explained what happened and he did not hesitate in helping. The movers tried to remove the key, and were unsuccessful. Juan came to my storage and got on his knees, while pushing the key from the back to free it from the lock. It did not happen, so I had to return some items to the garage, where I moved from. Juan stayed and tried to free the key, but could not. He called me later in the evening to let me know he could not get the key removed, but he will notify his manager. The next call was Juan telling me a new lock was placed on my storage door, after they had to cut the original lock. I really appreciate how Juan handled my situation.
