It has now been two weeks since the repair, and the car has not stalled once. What impressed me most was that they focused on finding the actual cause of the problem instead of immediately recommending an expensive repair. I would absolutely recommend Woolf's, especially if you want an honest second opinion and a shop that actually takes the time to diagnose the problem before recommending expense repairs.

Customer service is clearly not a priority…read more I've been a Pure Motorsport customer for approximately 4+ years, and unfortunately, this is the second consecutive visit where I've been treated poorly by the owner, Michael. During my previous visit for an oil change, the quoted price changed from approximately $300 to $445, then $395. When I simply asked for clarification, Michael became defensive, suggested I take my R8 to Discount Tire or another shop, and began tossing paperwork across the reception counter toward me. I contacted Pure afterward about the experience rather than immediately posting a negative review. Fast-forward to October 6, 2026. I dropped off my R8 for its 40k-mile service, originally estimated to take 2-3 days. I acknowledge arriving approximately 90 minutes late. Pure called that afternoon to explain the car likely wouldn't be completed before the weekend and offered to let me pick it up or leave it. I chose to leave it and was told it should be ready Monday, October 12. Friday came, and I called to check. Sam confirmed Monday was still expected. Monday arrived, and again, no call from Pure. When I called, I was told another day or two was needed because other customers' vehicles were taking longer than expected. Thursday came with still no updates, so I called again. My R8 was finally completed Friday, October 16, nine business days after drop-off. Between the initial call and the completion call, every update required me to contact Pure. When I politely raised concerns about the delays and lack of communication, Michael placed the entire blame on my late arrival, despite his staff previously explaining that other jobs had caused scheduling delays. My issue wasn't simply how long the service took, but the complete lack of proactive communication. Additionally, Sam identified a possible oil pump leak and promised photos and a repair estimate. Neither was emailed as promised. I only received the estimate when I picked up the vehicle, without the requested photos. When I attempted to discuss these concerns in person, Michael repeatedly spoke over me and once again suggested I take my business elsewhere. This was almost identical to my previous experience with him. Pure's prices are competitive, but other qualified shops in San Diego offer similar pricing. After two experiences like this, I would rather take my R8 somewhere that values its customers and can handle reasonable questions without becoming defensive. It's disappointing that the owner himself has been the biggest reason and pattern of behavior that I've lost confidence in this business.

Joey sent over the findings quickly and gave me his honest, upfront opinion on what needed immediate attention before my trip versus what maintenance could wait until I reached my destination. He also provided a clear copy of the inspection quotes so there were no surprises. In the end, they completed the full inspection, replaced the car battery, and fixed a coolant leak for around $550+ (including taxes). I definitely recommend this shop! Before Miramar Auto, I took my truck to the Honda dealer, and they charged twice as much for a diagnosis, only to tell me that I would need a new compressor (incorrect diagnosis) and that it would cost twice as much as I ended up paying out the door at Miramar auto.
