I was curious of why he gets so many great reviews and hopeful at the same time. He was amazing. I've never seen hands move so fast And so accurately before in my life. There was almost no weight to get my haircut and it was cut in record time and it actually came out better than I thought and it looks awesome. For a busy person like me, that was literally the best haircut and haircut experience I have ever had. Sat down at 9:25AM and I was pulling out of the parking lot by 9:33AM - no lies! Doors open at 9:30 but I got there early. Nicest guy and he's a clipper master! He works fast and the cut is super CLEAN!! As far as I know, it's FCFS so try to get there as soon as possible. And when I come in without an appointment, he'll usually cut my hair within 30 minutes, even if he's working on someone's perm or something. Did I mention the best price in town? Finding a new barber is hard. I moved to the area almost a year ago from the city and have been looking for a replacement but just can't find one. I came in this time going with my go-to haircut and Billy just couldn't quite execute it. I was worried from the get-go when the trimmer that he used sounded like it had been around since the 19th century instead of that nice hum that a nice, new trimmer had. He was flexible in fixing the length of my hair but when it came to lining up the hair on the back, he had the hardest time making a straight line at the bottom of my hair. The first time he did it and showed it to me in the mirror it looked more like the shape of the bottom of Florida than the bottom of Colorado. He saw it, agreed, and tried to fix it. It got better, but still wasn't straight. After three revisions, I just said "that's good enough," and left. I was looking for a new stylist in the area and tried this one. It was average to below average so I don't anticipate I will come back. read more

Billy knows what he's doing. I've been here a few times now, and every time the cut has been great. I moved to El Cerrito about 2 years ago and had not so good experiences with the local options before I found this place. A lot of barbers and hair stylists have trouble with my weird, comma-shaped cowlick, but Billy gets it to lay flatter than any other place I've been to. Another reviewer also mentioned that most of the clientele is Asian, which is true, but Billy has no problem with caucasian hair. Great prices too. read more
