I have bought Bill's Khakis from local clothing stores in my area for many years. I finally decided to purchase items from them directly on their website. I did receive most of the items from my order with the exception of one pair of pants that were on backorder. These pants were ordered at the end of November and now February is almost gone. I have tried many times calling the 800 number and sending emails. They do not answer the phone, return phone messages or email responses. Very sad to see an American company go right down the tubes. It appears to me that they are not even trying to keep their customer base. They sure do like to send out a bunch of email blast with sales items. Needless to say, I will move onto another brand once I find one that fits as well as the Bill's. read more

I did order a pair of pants on Dec 22 and tried to contact the company to change my order to no avail, then on Dec 29 I sent them an email asking them to cancel my order. I got charged for the pants on Jan6 and they sent the pants anyways. I tried to call and contact them to get a return label and nothing happened, nobody answers the phone. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they answered this: We looked into this complaint made on December 30th. We are showing that the customer's order was shipped to him on January 7th and delivered by UPS on January 12th. We were experiencing delays in shipping orders at the end of December and January, as the company was in a transition period and relocating the facility from Pennsylvania to Connecticut. I'm in complete agreement with the rest of the reviews on here... DO NOT BUY BILLS KHAKIS. I used to be a huge advocate of the brand, and have tried on three separate occasions to purchase from them over the last few months. Three separate times I've been unable to receive my order, and have had no response to my multiple attempts to contact customer service. I have tried and tried to forgive and forget, but no longer. Their website is temperamental, they sell things they do not have in stock and send out partial orders. Back ordered items are never sent with no explanation offered. The "customer service" is non-existent with repeated email inquiries on long overdue items completely ignored and don't bother calling. I recently waited twenty minutes in the queue for service to be dumped into a recorded message and hung up on. Furthermore, their pricing model devalues their entire line. For example, the jacket that is listed at $475.00 will be marked down 50 and even 60% in season. So buyer beware and by all means do not pay full price. The mark up must be astronomical on full priced items for them to be selling at 40% of the original price with free shipping IN SEASON. I used to be a fan and have many of their clothes, but the whole shopping experience and lousy customer service is no longer worth it. I have been a Bill's customer for a several years. I loved the stuff I bought and still wear. However, based on my last experience, I can't recommend their company and products to anyone. I placed a sizeable order (8 items). I received four of them and after six weeks of waiting for the other four (having been told they were backordered) learned that two of them were cancelled due to manufacturing problems and the other two were still backordered. I received no order updates online (their website is useless) or via phone. Clearly, they have some major sourcing and logistics issues. Orvis, L.L. Bean and Brooks Brothers for me from here on. Same story as others are reporting. On 11/8 I ordered a mess of shirts and two pairs of jeans. I had waited for the 50% off sale it made the usually over-priced Bill's Khakis offerings almost a deal. On 11/12, I was excited to see a box was delivered. Inside, only 3 of the 4 shirts orders and no mention of the jeans. Fast fwd to yesterday, I email customercare wondering wihere my shirt and pants are. By 5 PM I received an email telling me the shirt had been shipped and was tracked for delivery on 11/2 (it wasn't) and the jeans part of the order was CANCELLED. Of course, if I did not reach out, I would never have known and my account would still have been charged for the jeans. And now I wait, because no one is available on the 800-line. Bottom-line, the service is abysmal, you can't trust the web site and frankly, the shirts are normally priced at $145 per. I checked them out and really they're nothing special. This is not the Bills Khakis I ordered from back in the mid-2000s. Really, wait for Brooks Bros. or Paul Stuart to run sales. read more

Was a big fan several years ago of the Original Twill. Like so many things now, the quality just goes down and down. After a disappointing pair of corduroy a few years back I swore them off, but was persuaded to purchase a few pairs to give them another shot. The quality of the fabric, which is not made in the USA, and the cut itself was so poor that after two tries at different sizes, I returned them. To call their customer service (already a misnomer) slow would be the understatement of the century. Six months, countless phone calls and e-mails to/from a dozen different people later I was given a gift credit (no refunds given) for $100 less than the original purchase price, not counting shipping both ways twice! When I went to use the credit, it wouldn't go through online, or by phone! Still unresolved Two Years Later!! For the price, for the quality, for the service, this is outrageous. Release the holds! I have 5, yes FIVE orders placed with them over the last two months and have gotten NONE of the items I've ordered. I've wasted countless hours on hold to get to Customer Service and then get someone who says "customer service will have to address that", I have left messages, sent emails and still no response. Today the NUMBER IS DISCONNECTED! I've been waiting for some rather sizable gifts and have been told to call back to get an update. Just wow! I had an issue with a $400 sweater. I had never even worn the thing and it was falling apart at the sleeves. I am trying to exchange it now. I mailed it in after being told to but now I cannot get a hold of anyone. I dare you to try and speak with someone in customer service!! Go on - try it!!! I was told on the 11/20/15 that a new one would be mailed out via email. Its been 12 days later and nothing. i cannot speak with a CSR. I have left messages with their answering service. I have emailed. i have called at least 10 times today with no luck!! I have watched a steady decline in quality among traditional clothing makers (Brooks Brothers, LL Bean, etc.) over the past thirty years as they rely more on cheap off-shore labor. In my quest to avoid disappointment over cheaply made goods, I recently purchased a pair of khakis and one pair of cotton boxer shorts from Bill's Khakis. When they arrived, both items appeared to be very well made with nice stitching and heavy cotton. However, a seam on the boxer shorts frayed after just one washing. Needless to say, I have scratched Bill's off my short list of places to buy high quality goods made in the USA. read more

If it is possible for a company to suck worse than Bills Khakis, I am at a loss to know how. Where to begin... Your first clue about this online retailer, should be that Bill is too cheap to pay for an apostrophe. It's BILLS Khakis, not Bill's, and this oversight, if indeed it's attributable to that, should be a hint to you about what to expect. Buy a pair of pants from Bills-with-no-apostrophe, and there's a good chance you'll have to return them, because too much of the merchandise is mismarked. Twice, I ordered something from Bills, and what arrived was nowhere near the size I requested. I am only 5' 7.5", but the pants I got with (allegedly) a 29" inseam were made, apparently, for someone about 6' 2". That would have been fine--mistakes occur--EXCEPT...when I called Bills to alert them to this problem, I got a lot of run-around from a flunkie who said that he didn't want to "jump to conclusions", but I could return the item for a refund from which the cost of the shipping label would be deducted. (Nice scam, huh? Purchase something that is mismarked, then pay for someone else's mistake!) Well, here's the thing about jumping to conclusions: You may CONCLUDE that I have owned a great many pair of pants in my lifetime, Mr. Ermentrout, so that if I tell you that a pair of pants doesn't fit because they are mismarked...they don't fit because they are mismarked. Period and full stop. The bottom line is, if you order from this terrible company, where the consumer is always wrong and Customer Service is treated like a contradiction in terms, you will wait more than a month to get your money back when you return their crap. You'll be told that the promise to process returns in "10 - 14 days" is merely "an average", whatever the hell that means. AAAAAND...get this!...if you are lucky enough to have been offered some sort of discount, heed Eric S.'s warning and note that the chances are good that there will be something stupid like a ten-minute window--I exaggerate, but not by much--in which to use it, and that all sorts of restrictions (e.g., "offer not valid on days ending in Y") will apply. (EXAMPLE: In lieu of so-called "make-up flowers", Bills offered me a $25 discount code. Trouble was, it was offered on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, and expired the previous Sunday, the 28th!) FAIL! Customer service today replied with a code for 20% off my next purchase, but no answer about my pending order. I get daily sale emails offering 50-60% off of everything. Bill's Khakis store is now a disgrace to all it's loyal customers! They won't even exchange or take return items if they were bought in Dec due to new ownership. Have to say that they new owners are making this once loved company a complete failer as I for one have given up on all the poor customer service, never being able to get thru on the phone, not being able to track orders and now refusing to exchange or take returns. So I should have paid attention to the recent reviews. I have been a customer before, and then I received an email apologizing for terrible customer service and offering a discount. So I ordered a shirt and a pair of khakis. The shirt arrived quickly, but not the khakis. The website offers no information on the missing part of the order. I emailed customer service and received no reply. I called the customer service number and was put on endless hold. I emailed again. No response. The customer service is terrible and the overall experience stinks. I have no idea if I will ever receive the khakis. If I do not receive them and my card is charged for them, I will dispute the charge. Can't see ordering from Bills in the future based on this experience. Not worth the aggravation when other companies offer real customer service. read more

My wife and I have 3-4 orders outstanding from over two months. Been charged for two products that have NEVER shipped. Its a pity because their product was very good. I ordered online a couple of times in good faith over the holidays. I received a partial shipment and cannot reach Bill's to track my shipment. The website is down until February and the number I called on the packing slip connected to a scam in India for a gift card. I declined as they wanted CC number for postage. I asked for another number to call and it was fake number. Finally looked up Bill's Khaki's number online and had to leave a message. Terrible customer service. Still no shipment for my purchases. Bills Khakis is back and better than ever! I've been purchasing Bills Khakis since their introduction in the early 1990s, and was anxious to learn a few years ago that the company had changed hands. Happily, the company is no longer owned by "private equity," and the new owners are worthy conservators of the Bills legacy. I recently purchased four pairs of pants, three boxers, and two sweaters from Bills and couldn't be more impressed with the quality and service. Each of my three separate purchases was fulfilled promptly and correctly. The pants are top notch in terms of both fabric (moleskin and canvas) and construction (expertly cuffed to the correct length). I'm partial to the M3 model pant, which has the perfect slim fit. The boxers are also superb. I've been looking for classic, American-made boxers for some time, and have now found them. Finally, the v-neck geelong lambswool sweaters are lofty, fully fashioned around the shoulders, and knit in the U.S.A., which is great to find in this day and age. Anyone interested in the finest traditional men's clothing, made domestically in the time-honored fashion, need look no further than Bills Khakis. read more

I have been a very loyal customer of Bill's Khakis for over 12 years. I have always been impressed with the product. Products were outstanding in fit, color, workmanship, etc. Last year, I noticed that something wasn't right with the company when ordering from them, but the quality of the product was still good. That changed for me in December, 2015. I ordered a pair of their Cramerton Twill Khakis and they looked good when they arrived, but after one washing, I knew something was wrong as the seams puckered badly and they were impossible to iron! I sent them back and it is now March and I have yet to receive a credit. Last month, I reached someone in customer service and was told they have had some difficulty getting all the returns processed, but if my credit didn't show up on my next statement, to please call back. It didn't and i did, but after holding for a long time, I was dumped into voicemail with a promise to be called back. Deal with Bill's at your own risk. read more

Products are good but something is certainly not right with this company. i am still getting emails with too good to be true sales 50% to 60% off everything. As I should have suspected what seemed too good to be true is. Seems this company must be having financial difficulty and they are trying to generate short term cash flow to stay afloat. If you go onto the website the available items are now sporadic indicating they may have cut back on production. First sign of trouble is when they cannot pay their suppliers. I ordered a pair of pants back on November 7, 2015 and have not revived my item. Several attempts to call and email have been unsuccessful in obtaining a response. This was not always the case. Be very careful ordering anything from this company directly or from another retailer that needs to order from them because you may not get it and may still be charged for the item. Great product, if you can get it! I won't bother to repeat what others have clearly experienced and reported with respect to phone calls to Customer Service that never get answered, hold times of in excess of an hour, hangs ups, orders that haven't been fulfilled, returns and exchanges that haven't been processed, emails to Customer Service that have gone unanswered for several months now, and so on. Surprisingly, last week I received a notification that an item I ordered in December had been shipped via UPS and a tracking number was provided. When the package arrived my initial reaction was that a pair of shoes couldn't possibly have been shipped in such a small, flimsy plastic mailer. I opened the package only to find a leather belt and a packing slip indicating that the belt was to have been shipped to a customer in South Carolina (I live in Sugar Land, TX). What makes this laughable is that the shipment was supposed to contain not one but two belts, both waist size 46. The single belt shipped by Bill's was size 30! I started calling the day after receipt and haven't gotten through yet. Today I got a recording telling me that Bill's is experiencing technical phone difficulties and that I should call back on or after 1/18. Really? It will take nearly a week for their phone system to be repaired? I've had enough and will now start the process with my credit card servicer to recover the $500+ I'm currently "out". This place used to be great but now it is clearly heading to bankrupcy. The top 3 executives make 6 figures and take lavish trips to do business that could easily be done over the phone or by skype for free. They also spent almost HALF A MILLION DOLLARS on their "Bills Khakis Political Pub" website due to the incompentence of their tech guys. The receptionist staff has been reduced to 2 people instead of 4, and this means that if something is wrong with your order it takes HOURS to talk to someone to fix it! Incorrect shipments happen often because the shipping and receiving staff has been reduced in size from 12 people to just 7, and the office and warehouse workers also took a 10% paycut, which explains the horrible customer service. If the executives made a bit less money and took fewer unnecessary trips they would have plenty of money to pay their workers better and hire more staff. One warehouse worker told me that last christmas no one got bonuses, and no executives even said "Merry Christmas" to anyone in the warehouse on the last day before the holiday. This place is a sinking ship and you are really rolling the dice if you buy from them. I will never buy from them ever again. read more
