Add me to the long list of disgusted customers from the last several months. The website order tracking has never functioned as it should, but until now I have always received my orders and been satisfied. My, how things change. I placed an order on 11/6 for 2 pair of pants the website indicated were on back order until 11/20. I guess I should have questioned 11/20 of what year! Call me stupid, but I placed another order on 12/3. Like others, I've been a customer for several years, and like others, I have attempted to contact them multiple times. This morning the hold in queue was 1:36 before the call was dropped. Can you call customer service incredibly bad if there really is no customer service? Someone could do a terrific case study on this company. I really wish I knew another forum to express my thoughts. I doubt it would make much difference to owners and management. Bill's Khakis has gone down the tubes. I used to really like Bill's, but now I would not buy a pair of socks from them at 50% off. The reason for this is that the customer service is virtually nonexistent and there is little to no communication from them when credits are processed or whether there is an issue with an order. For example, I purchased a pair of khakis in November. I was using an ipad and for some reason the quantities were wrong at the time I paid. I immediately sent an email and heard nothing back. I then called directly and was placed on hold, one time for 45 minutes! I kept trying to reach Bill's and was unsuccessful and never received a response from them. Three pairs of pants showed up two weeks later and now I was stuck with three identical pairs of pants. I called today to followup on a a pair of shoes that I had ordered in December which had not been received. After getting over my shock that I actually was speaking to a person, I was told that my order had been cancelled and too bad for me. When I started to ask about the pants, I was told sorry, I hope that you enjoy them, no returns! I try to support American manufacturing as much as I can. The manner in which Bill's has gone down the tubes is really sad. Bill's used to sell a good product and provide exemplary customer service, now they provide products when they choose and leave the customers hanging in the wind as far as service. My initial experience with Bills Khakis was terrific, but last month I ordered several items from them online and two of them never shipped. I was fine with it at the start because the online store said that they were on backorder. However, when I tried to call to update my shipping address I wasn't able to even get through to a customer service representative. I even emailed their customer service department, but received no response. Two days ago I finally reached a customer care representative who (after 90 minutes on hold) could only tell me that the company was under new ownership and that my remaining items would not ship. I wish they would have told me that I would never receive my ordered shirt and khakis. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with their customer service and I'll have to seriously think about ever returning to them for clothes. read more

I was a big Bills fan from way back. I loved that they were made in USA/PA and that they were well made/high quality. I have maybe a dozen pants/shorts and about 6 or 8 shirts. I hadn't had to buy any new ones for several years because they were so well made and held up so well. But recently i bought 4 new shirts to replace some older ones that were getting to the "work around the farm" level with stains and wear. I was shocked when i got the new ones, the same size and style as my old ones but the decline in quality was breathtaking. After a couple washes I compared them side by side. Remember same size and same style but my old ones had 7 buttons the new ones had only 6 and were over 2' shorter than my old ones. Also the size was much smaller, maybe by 4' around the body, confirmed by tape measure. Also the fabric was not as high a quality feel. I did call the factory and was told that they had changed the cut and fit.... translated that means they wanted to save fabric and 1 button on each shirt. No offer of a refund or apology. I'm happy to pay more for a quality USA made product, but i'm not going to pay more for an inferior made product wherever its from. Too bad another once great american company in rapid decline. For $165.00 a shirt you can do way better. read more

In my recent quest to find more textiles and clothing Made In USA, this was the first I'd ever heard of Bill's. My BF needed new shorts BADLY, his birthday was rapidly approaching, and I stumbled upon their website. Not only was I happy to find out that items are at least assembled, if not fully made, in this great nation, it was super exciting to find that Bill's carried pleated shorts as my BF's body-type looks best in pleats! Because each pair of Bills' shorts at full price ran just about $100 each, I was careful with my selections and wondered if I was crazy. A pair of khaki shorts at Old Navy were on sale for $8/pair during this same period! But I convinced myself that I was tired of mass-produced fast fashion in which consumers have no qualms about tossing out cheap, quickly-worn-out clothing made in China to replace with more cheap, quick-to-wear-out clothing made in Cambodia. So I decided to give Bill's a try, hoped they'd last 100 years, and took out the credit card in order to hopefully keep an American business in, well, business. Both my BF and I are so pleased with his shorts! They look good and feel strong. Bill's was very quick to ship, and they provided a tracking number once I logged into my account. The shorts arrived in a plastic bag-type envelope, and inside there was also pre-addressed return documentation, which at this time will go unused. My one-star subtraction is due to the price - still can't believe I paid that much for shorts. Anyway, I will provide an update if my expectations are not met, but right now I'm happy with the products and service! read more

This is yet another company making awesome stuff still here in the USA. I've worn Bills since I was in college. I actually have my college Bill's and they're still around - it's been nearly 10 yrs. I can't believe how well they hold up. I was able to actually have some folks living in Reading pick me up some 2nds from their semiannual factory sale. This is a true factory sale. It's only twice a year and the savings are unreal. You'd want to call to find out when it is. I got some gems from that sale. Some things that I didn't even know Bills made - like swim trunks, a hat, a shirt, and some more khakis of course. When was the last time you saw a hat made in America? Nice. The styles and fit have changed over the years but my old ones still look grea t as my new ones. These are classics. I just received a pair of Bill's pants. I only oredered one pair because of their 20% restocking fee. I thought that if I did not like the pants I did not want to get stuck with the restocking fee on several pair, I am glad I only bought one pair. They do fit but I question how long they will last. The edges of the fabric is trimmed out with an over stitch that is something you might expect from a cheap garment made in a third world country. I have a couple of pairs of Brookes Brothers and the seam finish is covered with a binding and the crotch is covered but the Bill's pants are not. I am very disappointed. I did not buy Brooke Brothers again because they changed their pattern and fabric. You wood think that someone would make a good pair of high quality pants because they would sell well. I will not buy another pair of Bill's Khakis. read more

I ordered two pairs of shorts. One was beige and the other blue. They both fit comfortably on my overweight frame even though as one reviewer said the stitching seems cheap. My real complaint is the pair of blue shorts where the color washed out in no time to the point they are now my ugly gray shorts that I tool around in. I will not order from them again. read more

I have run into the same problems with two orders, placed 10/14 and 11/8/15, as the last four reviewers (11/16, 11/19, 11/23 and 12/1/15)--issues with backorders, shipping, no callbacks, non-returned emails. I am now realizing that satisfactory resolution is probably not coming, so the only outlet is a bad review. The company is obviously in trouble, so buyers should beware. read more

This is really sad. I have been a loyal customer from the beginning, and have spread the word about this brand for years and years. Someone else said it perfectly--they are destroying all of their hard-won goodwill in a matter of weeks. They sold me shoes at a big discount and then told me that the order never went through. This was a lie. I had order numbers, receipts, screenshots, and the like. If they were honest with me I would have understood, but they ruined their goodwill by calling me and lying. Everyone understands difficulties, especially loyal customers. What is not forgivable, however, is the complete lack of response. Whoever is buying the brand is buying a whole lot of liability without any of the goodwill. I will happily edit this review if Bills is decent enough to make good on what they owe me. EDIT: They called me to apologize, but informed me that they never had the shoes in stock that they sold me. I'll see if they try to make good somehow, someway. Otherwise, I am owed the cost of replacement for the goods due to the breached contract. EDIT 2: Update -- Bills addressed my concerns after many emails and phone calls. It did not work out perfectly, but they did make considerable efforts to appease a longtime customer and I do appreciate that. At the end of the day, they just have a terrible website that does not work very well and are in the continual habit of selling things they don't have in stock. Formerly my favorite place to buy American made clothing. An awesome company brought down and now in the hands of a Private Equity firm. Well, as they wrought the last bit of cash out of the company before closing the sale Bill Thomas destroyed any good will or customer loyalty through sale prices on items they didn't have, misleading or simply wrong prices, a website that didn't work and customer service that is abysmal on a good encounter. I am sure the people who worked for Mr. Thomas tried as hard as they could or as far as they were allowed. Shame on Mr. Thomas for this travesty in operation of a company. right to the last moment of abandonment and his comfortable exit. What is really disappointing to me is that I had long touted Bill's Khakis to my friends and associates. To them, I'll offer you something that Bill Thomas should have considered: an honest apology. I am sorry if you have encountered difficulties with this company. My hope is that somehow, Bill's is able to emerge from this mess to re-claim their position as an excellent example of American made product with quality customer service. I ordered a pair of khakis in November at a 50 percent discount; they were hemmed to order and delivered within a few days; I also ordered a shetland sweater which has not been delivered; BUT my credit card was not charged for the item. They have a cash-flow problem and, at present, are clearly having difficulty with suppliers. Today i ordered a sweater that was in stock at a 75% discount. I ordered the sweater because while the company is having problems, I see no signs of fraud. My emailed sales receipt is per usual. As far as I'm concerned, Bill's Khakis a long-standing reputable company...with problems. This outfit is clearly being squeezed to get all the cash out of it before dropping it completely. I received a gift certificate for $150 and tried to use it to buy a pair of lined slacks. But they were out of stock, had to wait 10 months to get back in stock. Waited 10 months, called to order but no, you can only order from Customer Service if you have a gift certificate. And no, they are not open in evenings or weekends. So I take time off work to order the slacks, but the customer service staff is clueless. Had no idea what an INSEAM is. We're talking pants here. Neither the phone operator nor her supervisor had any idea of what an inseam is. They also did not know how to use the gift certificate, and just told me that I would be charged an amount, but they weren't sure what it was. Did I mention that the slacks are $195 plus mandatory $10 for shipping and tailoring? So for over $200 (but they don't know the exact price) you can wait 10 months and get pants where the waist is correct and the length may or may not be correct. 1 star is really too much for these guys. read more

Ordered on 4/14 paid an additional $18.99 for 3 day expedited shipping (leaving on a vacation on 4/22), had customer service track the order because it is 4/21 and I still don't have it, was told the order was never imported so it never shipped. This is the 4th time I have had problems with Bills shipping department - once they sent me a pair of shorts with no button on them - probably not shipping's fault, but somebody should inspect them and by the way, those shorts were late too and I paid expedited shipping on them... Are you intentionally trying to make people feel disrespected? I will pay more for quality goods, but my limit has been reached. read more

I have worn Bill's Khakis for many years. Always a M3 fit for slimmer fit. Was gifted a pair by a parent. Tag states M3 but definitely mis-tagged as is certainly a M1 baggy. They are VERY baggy. I reached out to 'Customer Care' from the Bill's website, where Nichole stated they would not do anything. That I "should take them back to location where purchased". I explained they were gifted. I further explained I am in NJ and the parent purchased them in Florida. Did not seem to matter to 'Customer Care' who chose not to do anything. After wearing Bill's for over a decade, will have to look for another vendor moving forward. I agree with Gerry H. About a year ago, I bought 2 pairs of jeans for my husband @$135/pair. The back pockets on one pair of jeans have torn the pants fabric. A section of fabric on the other pair is fraying because that small area of fabric is actually thinner consistency than the fabric in the other areas of the jeans. I wish our experience had been like Nolan's and Bryan's, however, in my opinion, they are junk. read more

I just spoke with a customer service rep at Bill's. Apparently with the buyout, the new company has liquidated the staff to two people. It's been non-stop for them, as you can imagine, and they're not even able to get to any emails. It's best to call, and you'll still wait a while. (My wait was 45 minutes). She told me all orders that weren't in stock at the time of the buyout are being canceled, unfortunately with no notification. Credit cards are not being charged, though you may see a hold for the full order until whatever part of it that's actually available is shipped. The service representative was very apologetic about it, but they are sorely understaffed and not at all happy about the situation, as you can imagine. The company that bought them out has handled this badly. read more

In early December 2015, I ordered a couple pairs of pants (M2). The website indicated that the items were back ordered and likely would ship in early January. Later in December I checked the website status, which showed the order was still processing (no problem). Then, I went to check again later and noticed the site was down (with a message indicating they'd be back up in February). I called customer service (a few times since I couldn't get through), and the rep stated that the company had new ownership, my order was cancelled (first I'd heard of it), and that they would not honor sale prices advertised when I purchased the items. I tried reaching out to customer service via phone and email multiple times without any success. Today, I was finally able to reach a customer service representative over the phone, after waiting on hold for close to an hour. The customer service representative seemed irritated before I even explained the issues I wanted to resolve. Two months ago, I returned a pair of pants that ripped right down the rear seam before I ever got to wear them. I have yet to receive a refund. I ordered another two pairs of pants, and after three weeks without receiving my order I called the company. The person on the other line informed me that they would ship the next day. I still haven't received the order. As much as I no longer wanted to support this company, a recent sale was too good to pass up and I ordered three more pairs of pants. I only received one pair of pants when the order arrived, without any explanation. The customer service representative I spoke with today informed me that the company was bought out and is a mess. That is no excuse to run a company the way it's being run. I will not give this company another dime, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. Something wrong has obviously happened to the Bills Khakis company. I ordered several items in December. A few finally arrived after many weeks. I checked my online account with BK and each incomplete order was only noted as 'processing'. I tried to call several times and would stay on hold for 15 minutes or so before I would hang up or a voice mail would come on telling me to leave a message. I shop at a few Men's stores that carry BK, but I will avoid the merchandise from now on as the company is obviously poorly managed and I expect the clothing will start to reflect the quality of management. read more

I had been wanting to order from Bill's since the '90s I think. I finally got around to it Nov/Dec '15. They had a great sale and the items I wanted were actually on sale so I went for it. I had emailed them previously saying I was disappointed that their sales were always items that were probably not much wanted. No response at all. THEN, after I ordered I heard NOTHING. AT ALL. NOTHING. I tried to call several times, stayed on the line waiting for a rep............ I emailed probably six or seven times. NOTHING. I started swearing at them in my emails! I had no idea if they had even received my order because I never got a 'got your order' email! The pants did show up weeks after I had ordered them. I had no intention of keeping them at that point but I was curious about them and so I tried them on. Didn't like anything about the fit but I did like the thickness of the material. I thought the cut was way slimmer than it should have been and the waist was really high- like '80s high(and don't get me wrong- that was great in the '80s!) but I wanted them to kind of sit on my hip bone. You know, a bit loose and slouched on the hip....... sigh. Nope. I can see I'm not alone in this. I don't know what the heck is going on over at Bill's Khakis and I cannot imagine how they are staying in business. I guess there are enough people who just don't care how they are treated(or not treated) and just want a product. I see one reviewer actually got through to not just one, but another person!!!! Amazing! I will not ever order from Bill's Khakis again. Unless of course they come up with some sort of huge apology to all and say 'We have reorganized our company and YOU, the customer come first". THEN, I MIGHT.
