    A Metropolis Tradition. Always good food with friendly service. Don't go to Metropolis without stopping there.

I asked her to wear gloves (she handles money), and she got extremely rude and loud, saying that if I was going to eat it raw, then she would wear gloves. She said it several times. I told her no thank you, I don't want it. I did purchase some pre-packaged pork cutlets and when I went to the checkout, she snottily asked me if I wanted a wet wipe after she had given me my change. I said no thank you, just as snotty. I will not be going back to that place again. Oh, and the cutlets had zero flavor, even though I seasoned them. I ate one of them and threw the rest away. This wasn't the first time I was met with rudeness there, but she sent it over the top.

I explained to her that I need four of them for a family gathering. I then called Friday, November 15th to confirm that I could still get the $11.99 price if I came on Saturday. She assured me I could and again I reviewed with her what I needed just to make sure. So, on Saturday, November 16th I came in to your store and I told the man behind the counter what I wanted and informed him that I had spoken with a lady about getting four Australian ribeye steaks for $11.99 a pound with each being around an inch thick. He reaches down and throws an a whole loin down in front of me on the counter. I explained to him once again what I needed and what I had been promised on the phone. He then proceeds to give me a rude attitude and tells me that he is not going to honor that. I kindly insisted that I received what I had been promised over the phone. He really tells me that he's going to go get the manager. A couple of minutes later another man walks out as if he is put out with the situation. He then proceeds to never make eye contact with me or talk to me about the situation and cuts me four steaks of the sorriest looking ribeye that you could ever imagine... No wider than a New York strip steak. So trying to compromise, I asked him if he will cut a couple more to make up for the fact the steak wasn't even large enough to fill a grown adult. I was treated as though I was a burden and I was lied to, as well. My family has dealt with Hughes Market for years.. we have bought our meat there and we have had many a deer processed there is well. The whole family was very disappointed in the quality of the steaks and we will never again give our hard-earned money to Hughes market. They were so rude and did not fulfill what I was told on the phone. Y'all should be ashamed! The stakes were tough and they had no marbling or enough fat to render it being tender. I specifically asked that question over the phone both days that I called. Such a disappointing experience for my entire family!!!

I'll give them 4.75 stars, but they did fantastic so I'll round up for this place. First, we walk in the door and Zack walked past and complimented the boss on her snazzy shirt and a few other staff were friendly too so the vibe was nice to start off. We were then led to our table to discover Zack is our server for the night. Another compliment on the bosses glasses, okay she did look great - Thanks Zack! Drinks come out super fast and we get our food ordered. Zack was great helping with Alpha Gal and later following up with the kitchen staff that they had in fact not put butter on my fish - another win. I ordered the red fish special (I think) with a baked potato and the boss got the Harris Platter. Zack recommended blackened and was so right, delicious! I tried her fired catfish and that was delicious too, but would have dipped it in hot sauce, but the cocktail sauce was so yummy with a nice horseradish bite - delicious and maybe better than hot sauce (slander I know). That 0.25 off - well the hushpuppies were kinda gross and bland. This is the south so quality hushpuppies are a must. Ask for Zack, you will not be dissapointed.

I came back again the next day for lunch. When I came back Saturday we got the crab bites and they were very good. Had the crab legs for the second day in a row and they were still 10 out of 10. Can't wait to come back. For as popular as this place is I do think they could upgrade their tables a little. Our server on valentines afternoon was great and took care of our group of 11. Their house wines are Woodbridge which is actually under the Robert mondavi label.
