Just tossed it to us and said. Your good. Then gave each of our kids a quarter for the gum-ball machine. So when my bear hunting boys asked me to pick up a flashlight. Where do you think I went? Yep. Back to the place where we got special treatment. The owner helped me this time. He was very patient with me as I really didn't know what to get. I knew my son wanted top of the line. So he gave me a couple of options. With a nice price difference. I purchased an awesome flashlight for my son and my husband. The owner was so helpful and kind. Let's just say his worker who gave us 2 free quarters and a free bottle opener ended up turning into a return visit where we spent over $130.00. I guarantee I will be back again before we leave too. Because my husband blessed our bear guide by giving him his flashlight. lol

I'm so glad I saw the posts on social media about Jasmine's Lavender Shop. I would have never…read moreknown. Also what helped was other businesses and residents passing the word around through the town. I overheard people talking in the grocery store about the shop. That's amazing that the town helps support each other. Jasmine is the cutest, most intelligent young entrepreneur I have met. She has great guidance with her mom right by her side and behind her helping behind the scenes is her family. She did great helping us get all situated with our purchases and cutting lavender. The day we went all the profits went to a charity. We bought so much. Picking was extremely easy. I just went out there with the provided scissors and cute away. In the shop while shopping Jasmine's mother educated us about lavender and the kinds they had and what they could be used for once dried, or just picked. Whenever we are visiting Northern Maine for our yearly summer vacation we love supporting small businesses and local businesses. This was a great start to our visit!

I arrived on a Sunday morning and just walked around for about 2 hours. We all got to chatting and realized how small the world is as we are both from the same area in PA. There are many Maine themed items but there is just so much more to their store than Maine. The pricing is very reasonable and they run sales from time to time. They helped a local who was getting married. She was looking for some cute plates etc for her wedding table scape and these boys came through for her! There are items from other states as well like PA, NY, DE, NJ, and so much more. These partners started in PA and moved up to Maine a few years ago and brought their goodies with them. I found so many items that I brought back to VA, and added to my Maine themed dining room. The support they have for other businesses is amazing. They help each other out and that is just so nice to see. There is a great restaurant just down the street (Salted Butter Farm) to fuel up and then just head into Island Falls 30-40 min away and hit up Ashely at The Rummage for some more antiques. Go make it a day! You can find them online as well. Follow their social media for updates too.

EDIT - Sadly, this store has either closed down or moved away…read more This is a small store but they have a good selection. It is wonderful for there to be a store where one can purchase quality yarns at affordable prices in this area of Maine. The woman (Carol?) who was tending the shop was very friendly and helpful. She was very down-to-earth and most definitely not a yarn snob. She has a good range of products in the store from acrylic blends at the low end of the scale to mid priced yarns made of alpaca, mohair, angora, and - of course - wool. There were a few things on clearance and I snagged a bag of cotton dk and I also indulged in a couple of little balls of angora. It was a very nice shopping experience and I will definitely be back to shop there again. As a side note, when I asked about a few luxury yarns in particular, she did mention that she is happy to order anything that she doesn't have in the shop (provided that she can get it from one of her suppliers, of course). It is becoming more and more difficult to find a store with good customer service (especially as we, in our shopping frenzy, continue to settle for less for our hard earned dollar). I will never patronize an establishment that does not make me feel appreciated. Thankfully, this store made me feel good about spending my time and money here.
