I generally like this hardware store, and recently bought a brand new 2021 Ariens ZT mower. The…read moremower was delivered with less than 10psi in the rear tires (24 psi needed) the front tires barely registered on my gauge. The deck was not leveled or adjusted properly at all. Deck was 1/2" of side to side and not trued up with the cut height selection lever. It was just roughly assembled and no where near set up properly for a nice cut. It was also filthy from sitting outside. Someone that has no experience with mowers would have been really unhappy with the cut of this machine. Took me about and hour to set it up perfectly. Very disappointed with the service.

On…read morethe occasion we drive into Calais we always find a reason to stop at this store for hard to find items. Today was no different. As we waited in line an older gentleman completed his transaction and exited the store. It was obvious he was regular customer who knew cashier. As our items were being checked out the older gentleman returned to the register and started to engage in conversation with cashier and young man behind the counter about politics. He was obviously a member of some political committee in town as he was trying to recruit young man behind counter to join his party and get involved with politics. He said their party had to get younger people involved. The female cashier and the gentleman then both started throwing childish insults about other party and moaning about what a mess the country was in. I consider myself fairly middle of the road and have voted for both parties, but I was shocked by this behavior and felt like it was hostile because they had no idea who was standing in line. My guess is they just didn't care. Unfortunately this exchange will stick with me a while as it demonstrates how callous people have become around others. Probably find other places to shop in future.

Accepted the funding gladly, Hammond lost almost $8000 ..The person I talked with and dealt with over computer was not friendly at all, acted like I was stupid..I still have papers on file of his quote, which he said he never gave....good learning lesson for me..
