We had our Tournament of Champions APA tournament at Billiard Plaza yesterday, and I enjoyed the choice of venue. They have about twenty tables that are 9 footers, then six or so Diamond tables got APA games. There is a home style cooking restaurant next door that they allow you to order from and they'll deliver it, however you can't bring food in by yourself. There's plenty of parking, a nice beer selection, TouchTunes, and they sell billiards accessories. The tables are in great condition, I really enjoyed playing on them. The reason Billiard Plaza is getting four stars instead of five is due to a couple reasons. There weren't that many tv's, and the ones they did have were tiny in comparison to the size of the room. We were there all day and wanted to catch some football games, unfortunately we had to resort to propping our phones up and watch the game that way. Also it's a beer only bar, which, some of us like out tequila! The last complaint I have is how hot it was. I'm not sure if they had the A.C. off for the tournament or if it always feels like that in there, but we were definitely sweating. The fans weren't enough! I had no idea this place existed, and last night I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had at this hall. A common Simi Conundrum is that there is "nothing to do." Make of that what you will, Billard Plaza is definitely something I will be adding to my list of things to do. With a fun ambiance, plenty of pool tables, music, darts, and ping pong, this all is actually fun. It's inexpensive to play with a group for a few hours. Comparable to going to Hookah. If you choose to drink then that could get pricey, but is the case everywhere. They have special nights for events, and seemingly a diverse range of customer base. If you want to play pool this is a decent place to play pool. They have a couple appetizers selections and quite a few beer options but no hard liquor. There are I believe nine of the huge tables and about nine of the smaller bar size tables. The people were working were cleaning every time they weren't serving customers they were cleaning something so it seemed very clean. I've seen the other review about a disconcerting smell but I did not notice any unusual odor during our visit. We were there a little early in the evening so was not busy and we were able to get a table and a few beers very quickly. I would go back mainly to play pool if were in that area again. read more

glad to have so many billiards tables available but my friend and i were charged 50$ for playing pool for 1.5 hours and ordering 3 beers total (and they were on tap too!). we actually wanted to order mixed drinks (as we saw were offered on the online menu) but the bartender denied us saying they didn't have it, only the beer on tap and drinks behind her (more beer and some trulys). really was not expecting a bar like this to have such high pricing and assumed it would be friendly for our college budgets. 25$ for a pool table was really not appropriately priced and ordering 3 beers on tap should not have amounted to a 50$ bill. luckily our bartender was attentive and checked on us at the billiards table and even took our empty cups and served us there too, which was unexpected and nice! read more

Mellow, empty, personal. Simi Valley gem. This place is cool, don't hate. The guy who owns it is really laid back, kind of mysterious... like a badass kind of mysterious. Like you don't wanna mess with this guy. My friend John took me here for my first time and is known here because of his frequent visits; The bartender gave us a free pitcher of beer to split. Right? You can't not like this guy. He's always eating Doritos back there behind the bar too :) Sometimes he hooks up the little tables for no charge for us. Otherwise, I believe they're $0.50. The big tables are charged by the hour, and they're BIG! Always sparkling clean in here, bathrooms included. Matter of fact, I'm adding another star right now. I wouldn't suggest coming here to party or anything (the ambience is too quiet!), unless you plan on filling up the place! But it's definitely rad to come with a few friends to catch up or practice your pool skills without worrying about being embarrassed, since there's no one to watch... HA! Went to this billiard hall last week and man this place turned out nice. I guess the ownership changed so they redid everything! He even has a beer pong table set up! Short version: OK place to go and play some pool/darts, if you can manage the smell of incense, which is kind of strong, I would give it 4 stars if that was the case. However, they have horrible customer service. Stay out if that is an important factor for you. Long version: Even though the pool is nice, despite the smell of incense (or whatever it is) is pretty strong sometimes, my biggest problem with this place is their customer service. Last night my girlfriend and I had a coupon for 25% off pool, so we decided to give it a go. A couple of hours went by, everything was pretty decent, however the problem started when we finished and moved up to the main bar table to pay. We showed the coupon, everything seemed to be going smooth, but in the end we were charged the whole sum. We tried to talk to the waitress asking why didn't we get a 25% off, just to be brushed off with promises that if we hold on to it we would get an hour off next time, and that overall that coupon would not expire (why would that matter if we just wanted to use it right then at the spot, and how does that even make sense if it says on a coupon that it expires on 29th of March?). A few times more, I tried to talk to her trying to make her apply the discount, but she just didn't bother, commenting in a brushing-off like way: "What would the discount be, $5? That's nothing, just keep it and you can get an hour off pool next time" After such back and forth's for about under five minutes, the bar got overflown with other people trying to order and whatnot, so we just decided to leave. The bottom line is: If the customer wants to apply a coupon, just apply the freaking coupon! It's not rocket science, and, especially, it's not staff's place to tell you and argue (!) with you whether you want to use it or not, giving you promises about greater rewards in the future, which could easily be empty. Now, once more, these promises of a whole hour off the pool next visit, in exchange for not using the coupon immediately, could be true. Not sure how that would work at all, but I am willing to give this place one last go to check whether they would ACTUALLY give an hour off as promised. If not, then this place wouldn't deserve the business it gets with such horrendous attitude to customers. Personally, I doubt I'll go there ever again. read more
